Bull Shooters was a place I really enjoyed the quality of patron was sometimes suspect but it wasn't really an issue. Tonight they have a no cigar smoking sign up in the patio. Now if you want to inhale a chemical dipped cancer stick your good, and they will smoke out that patio at times. But a natural hand rolled cigar? Nope! You want to vape your way to popcorn lung? Go for it, but a non inhaled sweet smelling natural cigar? Not allowed. Food is typical bar fare, nothing special but serviceable. Service has always been good, but i consider their new no cigar policy a pretty poor reflection on them. On a weekend evening, I checked out Bull Shooters for the first time for a special event: some pro wrestling from the Arizona Wrestling Federation. They set up a ring with seating in one area of the bar. After the event, I stuck around at Bull Shooters, so I can touch on the typical experience. They're located in a busy shopping center, but I was able to find a parking spot. Once you go in, I was surprised by how large this bar is. It's huge! There was the large area where the wrestling event was. There's a private room. And then the main area is filled with a bunch of pool tables. If you like to play billiards, this is the best place to do it I've seen in Phoenix. You can also just hang out and drink at the high tops if you'd like to. While they did have a limited food menu, I wasn't hungry, so I was on a liquid diet. And when it comes to the alcoholic beverages, I was very impressed with Bull Shooters. They have a good beer selection and a full bar, but what really stands out are the prices. The drinks are super affordable! The type of value I always appreciate. While the bar isn't in the nicest part of Phoenix, if you're looking to play some pool, and not break the bank while you're doing it, Bull Shooters is a great choice. read more

Was very excited when they started the stand up comedy on Tuesday nights and normally enjoy the show.. unfortunately since the original host (Joey) stepped out, it seems to be slowly falling apart... Signing up is intimidating enough for most people but when the hosts and the group at their table start having conversations louder than the mic, it has got to be far more disappointing to the person on stage than to the people who came out specifically to see the show. Tonight was definitely a let down and I really do hope that others let their opinions be known in hopes of getting the show back to being something to look forward to. read more

We have been going to this place for years, due to being Cigar friendly. Apparently the manager claims there is no smoking in the patio area. My husband ask how long has that been implemented. She stated as long as I have been working here. Well not true due to other reviews that state it is cigar friendly & pictures of myself smoking a cigar just 2/3 yrs ago. Incident date: August 21, 2024 Timeframe: to 8.15is to 9.45 pm AZ I have been to this place since 2018 and have participated in the pool competition once or twice, and that's why I have been a big fan of the staff (at least I was until this week) and always brought my friends here who were visiting from a different town. This was probably the biggest pool/billiard place with no wait time and quality tables. But, on August 21 when I arrived with my friends because one of them was celebrating his birthday, we had a completely awkward encounter with one of the staff members. The background is, we got out pool table and now we started playing as were very excited. I think we were in for 20 to 30 minutes but there was no server and some of us wanted to order some food but mainly the water first. The server who was assigned to our section walked through us 2-3 times and yet she didn't care to look at us or ask if what we wanted. At one time, when was collecting the drinks or fixing the table, a friend gently tried asking her and she said "one sec" but never came back. Finally we had to approach another server who was assigned for the competition area and then she told our server to help us. When our server finally got to us, she didn't look happy and completely in a different zone (when I say zone, yes, she was not normal). We told her what we wanted and we were still very nice to her with a smile. Towards the end, I simply said can we also get some water please, and she nodded yes. After a few minutes, she got us water bottles, I was like wth? It means that she was trying to SCAM us. When I asked when she came second time, she said when somebody orders water, they give water bottles, if I wanted regular water, I must mention water from jug, I already gave up after that moment. For the food as well, she took some time for which I was okay even if I was hungry (because there was a competition going on and I know the etiquette). During this time, one of my friends was already extremely disappointed and had to go to the main bar 2-3 times. A little background about him, he works as a manager at one of the top restaurants in prime Scottsdale area and in the restaurant industry for 11 years now. He said they never treat customers like this no matter if they are from whichever country or background. To conclude, I hate to say it but we felt racism and there is no answer for how we felt. The only reason I kept calm because there were other staff members who were extremely helpful and helping others. Our server was definitely on to something and she was not in a mood to help us in any way. When things got a little tense towards the end (verbally), I made sure to calm my friend but was very disappointed that the other friend's special day was ruined because I got them to the Bull Shooters. This was my last ever visit and when I say it, I mean it. I have been to 18 different countries in Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, and never had to face what I faced here. And this is why I am posting the detailed review because our evening was ruined by that server. If the management/owner is curious about what exactly happened, then they can check the video footage and the timeline on when the server actually came to us. I absolutely love this bar. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for years and all the bartenders treat us like family. Absolutely LOVE Steve, Shanda, Shannon, Jess and Cece behind the bar. If you're not a complete asshole to them they will treat you like family. Also this bar has something for everyone. So many pool tables, a bunch of dart boards plus a private room in the back for darts. Don't get me started on the karaoke EVERY night. I love this bar but there has been a few times like tonight for instance that makes me hesitant to recommend or come to the bar again. I bought 4 shots when I walked in and bought 1 additional shot when I closed my tab for pool. It's a great place with reasonable prices. The online listing indicated that smoking cigars was allowed on the patio. This was our sixth visit, and each time, we enjoyed smoking cigars while we were there, noticing multiple other cigar enthusiasts as well. However, during this visit, the manager informed us that cigar smoking had not been permitted since the business opened. I suggested they update their Google listing, but instead, she allowed us and a few others to smoke and provided fans to help disperse the smoke. We are mindful of the fact that the smell of cigars can be polarizing, and we make every effort not to disturb others. People were playing in droves because it was a tournament night. I also checked out karaoke which they have 6 nights a week. The hubs and I had no kids and were looking for something to do. He usually comes here with his brothers for poker during the week so we decided to head over and play some pool. It was pretty busy and there was tournaments going on. We watched a bit of poker and headed to the tables. I am not enough of a billiards enthusiast to fully appreciate what is THE LARGEST pool hall I've ever seen. There are several dozen tables, and a station to purchase supplies to up your game. I'm just a scrub that plays half-decent games after a couple pints, so I knew I was in way over my head. It's overtly blue collar and rough around the edges. I don't look like I'd last 5 minutes here, but I did. Expect a large drink menu but nothing too fancy. Your beer will likely be served in an old plastic cup from a bar that commands there be a singular line for thirsty patrons. Also expect minimal seating if you're not involved in a pool game or having a smoke. Overall, Bull Shooters isn't my scene...but like a good pasta or a romance novel I can appreciate and recommend it even though it's not my thing.
