We've been going to Hooper's for about two years now since our normal Friday night spot closed down. We started going to Hooper's based strictly on the fact it the closest bar to our home and an Uber ride is about $6 one way. Live music most Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8. A mix of genres with an emphasis on classic rock or 90's. Some nights very loud, some nights perfect. Cheap beers, good selection of draft. . (Please bring back Big Blue Van) easy going bartenders and mostly blue collar, middle class regulars. No drama. I can't vouch for mens room but ladies room clean. . Great smoking patio with heaters in winter and coolers in the summers. All NFL games shown Sunday morning and afternoon, Karaoke Sunday night. The only downsize is they don't serve food, but bartenders and management don't have a problem if you bring in from several nearby restaurants. read more

Came for their 23rd birthday with some friends. Fun times if you like dive bars, crappy service, and sweating. Love the first, can deal with the second but the third is a deal breaker! Understand busy but don't say you will be right back to take our drink order but go wash dishes instead. Don't charge $3 for each club soda the DD drinks either. Most bars give free drinks to the DD! Didn't catch her name, but the bartender working on 8/28, just threw our group's designated driver out because she wasn't drinking. The bartender came up and asked what she wanted to drink and she said she's good. The bartender literally just told her she can't sit there and not drink and then after we told the bartender that she was our DD and not drinking, the bartender said she needed to leave. So our group of five (four who were paying for multiple drinks) all left. What bar throws out DD's???? Terrible business practice. We won't be back. read more

I stopped in yesterday to watch NFL MNF. I waited 10 minutes for the bartender to recognize that I had entered the bar. For the life of me I will never understand how a bartender doesn't automatically realize when the front door opens there is a 50% probability that a new customer just walked in and may desire service. The bartender, once she acknowledged me, was pleasant enough and I was pleased to see that from my seat at the south end of the bar I could count 9 TVs tuned into the game. At probably about one minute after kickoff a patron loaded a bunch of sad and sorrowful songs onto the jukebox and then went to the patio. The jukebox cancelled out the audio of the football game. There were probably 7 or 8 other patrons at the bar most of whom were also focused on the game and forced to listen to 1 person's choice of music which went on for the entire first half and was still going on until I got fed up and left. Noooooo I'm tired of all these boring neighborhood bars in Glendale. You can afford to add something other than budmillercoors on tap. Do something cool. Step into the 2010s. Like, *at least* Four Peaks could be useful here. I feel the same way about going to Hooper's as I would going on a date with someone who starts their day with a PSL and a Meghan Trainor album. Basic as fuck, I want no part of it. Bartender was nice, but I don't trust anyone at a place like this to mix more than two ingredients. So I went with something simple--Red Stag and coke. The coke was flat. Whatever, let's check out what's going on with the jukebox...which was apparently not connecting with the internet. OK OK, it was becoming comically bad. At least it's got a patio, even if it is incredibly narrow. Overall, this is the kind of bar you only go to for convenience and not because it's cool. The west valley overall is raising the bar for a good dive, and I hope Hooper's can recognize that and catch up. Two stars for being clean, polite, and having a respectable liquor selection, but there ain't much else. read more

My friend Lisa mentioned a band here last nite and I had no idea what to expect but was greeted by a respectul giant of a man wearing a back the badge t shirt (and I have respect for law enforcement). I walked in and the women working the bar were super pretty and workin their tail ends off. Both just super kind. The band playing was off the hook (for a cover band, would be nice to have seen a few Originals) but they were good and really chill peeps. Very patriot TRUE AZ crowd which was nice to see. I stopped at Hoopers last night after 150 mile motorcycle ride. Carolyn behind the bar is absolutely awesome and amazingly nice. The customers were the same just good hard-working people nice neighborhood bar. No I don't live in this neighborhood but I will stop again. I did ask for tacos because it's on their chalkboard but a different bartender said we don't have any food so I said erase that please LOL. read more

I like to come here on Friday afternoons when I get out of work early, so by afternoon I mean around 11am. The reason for 4 stars is they no longer have a cook, so no food. I have to say their food was great so I hope they get a new cook. The only bartender I have encountered is MJ and she's the reason we keep coming back. She told us we could bring food in, but no drinks. This compromise is helpful, because I go here straight from work and I need lunch to accompany my end of week drink. I generally have a whiskey sour, but I have been drinking margaritas lately. She discusses the different tequilas with us and we generally have a different type every week. They have bands, a patio and a pool table, but I cannot comment on any of those things since I haven't used them or been there for them. read more

Hoppers is your typical neighborhood sports dive. The Cheers bar of Glendale I suppose. Or maybe of only of old Glendale. I was meeting up with my fav uncle for a brew one day after he got off work and he recommended this bar. I said, "hell, why not?" I'd only been there once before and it's seemed well enough for your typical bud light bar and cheap cocktails. I like that they had Guinness on tap. It'll do. Don't expect to find any high gravity beers here folks. Sorry. There were all the regulars that knew the bartender by name and vice versa. Both parties where friendly and obliging. My unc and I didn't get treated badly simply because we weren't part of the regular crew. Strange strangers talked to us both and creepy as it could have been, was actually quite entertaining. I like hoppers and should I ever get the urge to go out drinking again in Glendale, will most definitely return here. read more

The pool tables were brightly lit and quite nice compared to Connoly's, which is in the same parking lot. The bar was clean and less of a dive compared to Connoly's. The regulars were quite creepy and rude. Young ladies, if you must go here, stay sober and go with men and not your girlfriends. The men acted like they have never seen a woman before. I was wearing a long sleeved shirt and a skirt that went well past my knees, nothing obscene. It was odd and very uncomfortable. My boyfriend ran into one of the men on the way out who was staring at me, and he didn't quit. Other men pointed and made rude comments. The crowd was middle aged to elderly. The bartender was nice, but the other women were not. One lady yelled at me from across the bar, "are you old enough to be in here?!" The answer is yes, and I deserve the same amount of respect. This bar could benefit from male employees. Normally, if I am uncomfortable or harassed, I could say something to the staff & they could take care of me. I won't be back. Also, there is a list of specialty drinks on each table, but the bartenders do not know how to make them. What a shame because an "Orange Creamcycle" sounded delicious! I asked if she knew how to make a Black Russian, she said yes, and made me a White Russian instead. A Black Russian is just Kahlua and vodka. read more

Save your money! If I could give this establishment 0 I would! Very unsafe environment! Karaoke is the only reason I give it any stars. I was sexually assaulted in the bar and reported it to the bartender. He did nothing! The police warned me to not frequent this establishment! In the past month there has been a fight inside the bar! And a regular customer was drunk and put his hands on quite a few women and was almost beat up! 3 violent incidents in 1 month! Save your money! read more

The staff at Hooper's is amazing, especially MJ. She is polite and makes good drinks. I like the patio, pool table and chill atmosphere that's why I keep coming back and will. The whole bar and bathrooms are clean and kept in good condition. Not a huge bar but a good size and with low prices on beverages perfect. Also, the live bands...haven't found one I don't like yet. read more

So I had a rough day and was looking for a low key spot to chill, shoot some stick and relax. I'm viejo and have had the opportunity through work to visit many joints, from Ocean Beach to Newport, RI.. from St. Lucia to Vancouver. I have also not written many reviews. I just want to convey to others and express my gratitude to the bartenders and clientele at Hoopers... I have never felt so welcome as a stranger, enjoyed such courteous and prompt service, and the whole scene- from bar to patio to music just had a super positive vibe. Never have I had such an all around positive experience. I will be back for sure. Please don't tell too many people about this gem, but if you go and the same staff is on duty, you should experience the finest service and most fun bartenders around... although playing the right music - i.e., what the Bartendresses like, might be key. Great place to get cheap drinks in clean glasses! Seems like a dive, but is actually really clean and fun! Linda and Smurf are awesome girls and made our night more fun. it was our first visit and we were looking for a relaxing place to make out new bar since we just moved to this side of town...and we found it! Ok so this review might be a bit tricky to write / explain. I am not a fan of dive bars . Let alone dive bars where I am the only minority there. However this bar is the exception to that rule. I have gone several times on different days and the experiences have been very good! The bartenders Sami and Monica greet you with warmth and great service. They will make you feel like you are visiting a cherished family member. Beer is very affordable and nice laided back patio to enjoy a smoke. read more
