To passerby's it may just be a place to fuel up and grab a drink and snack. But to our community it's so much more. The owner has a local farm from which he sells beef and pork hear round. His Exxon has several coolers full of fresh meat for sale. Last year shortly after The pandemic happened demand for meat went up. Odell's worked tirelessly to keep up. And they did his very best to keep prices as reasonable as possible. I am thankful for our local farm raised beef and pork. Odell's Exxon is also a place to grab some breakfast or lunch from their kitchen. Grab it to go or enjoy it in their nice seating area where you are likely to witness many locals stop by and exhibit their West Virginia hospitality! My favorite meat is the cube steak, ground beef, and the pork sausage. Give them a try.

I actually have not enjoyed an experience at a gas station so much before, lol. The bathrooms were extremely clean AND stocked with not only soap but a cherry almond hand wash/scrub. It's meant to remove grease and grime, but I had to try it and omg. It made my hands feel so soft and smooth and smelled so nice, I was so excited. I also figured I'd grab some coffee, and I was expecting the typical sparse gas station set up, but I didn't realize they had specialty coffee here! I tried the Cinnamon Roll Cold Brew and I'm still in awe at how delicious it was. I was already a happy camper, when I noticed the glass cabinet full of handmade glass trinkets. Of course I wanted a souvenir to remember this 10/10 gas station experience, so I ended up purchasing the cutest little glass gecko. They do also have showers and over the loud speaker, you could hear the announcement when the next one was available. It seemed like a very organized process. At the checkout, the man working was very friendly and I also picked up some very reasonably priced homemade dog treats. Definitely stop in here if you're around!

Go Mart is apparently a thing in these parts and this store is a fine example of cleanliness and order that the modern traveler has come to expect and it serves the local community well as well. Before heading out of the Beckley area and back towards home, I needed to make a stop for a quick…read morebite to eat, grab a drink, and use the facilities. Driving around the day before, I knew there was a Sheetz in this area. My colleague also needed to use the facilities so this stop was needed. Pulled in and made our way to our respective restroom. One stall was out of order on my side and came to find out that was the case on the other side. It took my colleague more time here than me. I went out and grabbed what I wanted/needed and was back out to my vehicle before she was out of the facilities. Waiting for her, I just took in the scenery outside, which isn't much since this sits along a busy, commercialized road. Once she was finished, we were back on our way to head back to the DMV.
