Ii went to Bullfeathers for the first time the other day. The shop is small (three chairs) and nice and cozy. All the barbers were busy with customers. I had an appointment with Kristin. I showed up on time and only had to wait a couple of minutes. Kristin did a great job and I was very pleased with my cut. So I walked in without a greeting being given, sat for 30 minutes alone in the seating area listening to the two stylists talk about their past IRS problems to the two customers who were getting haircuts and reading from the magazines for customers- all gun magazines.. One stylist finished cutting hair and hurriedly left about the same time a regular was greeted by name and sat down with me in the waiting area. It was only then that I was asked if I had an appointment and I replied "no". I've been a customer for a while and most of the stylist have cut my hair or my young son's hair at one time or another. Always an excellent haircut, never rushed, and attention to detail always given. I could never go back to one of those shopping center places after the way these stylists craft their skills. I enjoy the complimentary beverage and and relaxing environment. It feels like a true gentleman's lounge. If Roosevelt were around I think he would approve. PS. Jessica is one of the best barbers in the HSV area. She's been keeping my head slick & beard on-point for over 2 years now. Everyone who comes to the city new asking for a good barbershop gets referred over to her. The atmosphere there is laid back and relaxing, and Jessica loves to chat with you while working and does a fantastic job. Overall this is the best barbershop in the city in my book! read more

This place used to be good but the quality of service has continued to decline. The staff reeks of cigarette smoke and the place is always dirty with hair everywhere. The staff seems more Interested in taking smoke breaks than doing their job. I had to take my son to another place to have his haircut fixed because it looked like someone had taken a weed trimmer to it. You could see the ridges that were created in his hair, and the person who cut it spent all of maybe 10 - 15 minutes screwing it up. I didn't feel like arguing and paid and left. I won't be back, and my over 20% tip will be going to my new place I have found. So, if you want to come to a dirty place, have to smell the stink of cigarette smoke, have staff that treat you like you're a bother and an owner who seems angry all the time, head here. The professional, friendly person I took my son to, two days later, sat him in his chair and asked me wtf happened to his hair..so I guess I knew I was right. read more

This my go-to place for haircuts, both for me and my sons. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere with excellent service and great value. Always enjoy a soda and conversation with the Nancy and her amazing crew. Be advised, these ladies are busy so schedule your appointment in advance (they will accommodate walk-ins as best they can but better to schedule appointments). This place is great! I came to Huntsville about 2 years ago. Ever since I've had trouble finding a barbershop that has an old school vibe to it yet feels modern. I head about this place from two friends and decided to check it out. At first I was skeptical because it looked small, but when I walked inside, every barber was so friendly! I had my haircut by Ariel and must say she's amazing! She really took her time making sure that my haircut was a good haircut. She paid attention to detail, was very handy with the clippers and scissors and handled a straight razor better than any barber I've met here in Huntsville. She kept a great conversation with me and made sure than I didn't leave the shop without 100% satisfaction with my haircut. I will definitely be coming back to Bullfeathers! This place is bomb! I love taking my husband and my two teenage boys here. I usually book with Gabrielle as she is our favorite hairdresser and she especially really listens to what my boys (and I) want done with their hair, but all the ladies seem know what they are doing, are super professional, chill and very easy to talk to. They are kind and courteous and usually ask if we want anything to drink; water, pop and even beer as soon as we walk in! I like the place too because it's clean and really has the experience of a "manly" barber shop. If you're a guy that wants a true barber shop experience I highly recommend this place! If you want to book an appointment it's really easy; all you have to do is either call them or even download their app. The app is user friendly and very easy to use. They will serve you a beer, cut your hair and trim your beard and make you feel like you are in one of those old movies when men were men and the ladies loved it. I was greeted at the door with a smile, and offered a soda, beer, water, or coffee. The place has decor suited to more masculine tastes, and was very comfortable. Emy was my barber, and she was open to my suggestions and made recommendations as well. I was given a haircut, beard trim, and shave, all while enjoying pleasant conversation and a coffee. They used some wonderfully scented products on my hair and beard. I walked in with hair like Jack Nicholson, and walked out with hair *more* like Jack Lord (it was the best she could with what she had to work with!). The scheduling system is all online, you simply click on your barber and then click on a time slot. Prices are very reasonable, and a follow-up cleanup is even free. Had Amanda do my hair and beard today. I wasn't sure if it was ok to just walk in. I was attended promptly. I really enjoyed my hair cut and beard trim, they make you feel like they care about exactly what you want done. They take their time and dont rush or pressure you. After my barber of 9 years moved to London over a year ago, I've been searching for a new barber shop. I've tried the quick-cut places, you know the ones, as well as friends who cut hair at home, and other places around town like Whiskers. None were horrible - but they did not make me want to go back or look forward to going again, even a little bit. I've been to Bullfeathers twice now and have had Nancy Covington and Ariel Eagan cut my hair. Both did an excellent job, so you cannot go wrong with either barber. (I did see the other barber, Emy Butler, but I am sure that she is great too.) It is a great place, clean, comfortable and friendly. And whats even better, is that I am looking forward to going back. In a world where we are hit with 101 things that we must 'schedule and maintain', this is just one more thing we need to fit into our schedule - at least by going here, I am actually looking forward to it. They greet you with an offer for a glass of beer or wine. After talking with both of them, they love what they do and it shows in how they treat their customers and in their service.
