Real thrift stores like this are getting hard to come by. They're all starting to get curated, overpriced, and over-shopped. I found a wooden train set for my preschooler for only ten bucks, and got a bunch of other items for $1 or $2 each: paperback books, kids clothes, glasses, and canning jars. I've been able to get some new bakeware and toys for my nieces who were visiting. The store is organized and the staff is friendly. Everything is very reasonably priced. They don't have a public bathroom but did let my 3 yr old niece use their bathroom when we were close to an "uh o" moment. It's a must stop for thrifting in the area.

You can get NEW furniture cheaper at Walmart. It wasn't even solid wood, it was some wood veneer stuff. I mentioned something at the front and they went hard about oUr MiNiStRy and all of the programs they support. Which is fine and all, but the ministry can ALSO support low income people by not charging offensive prices on items they get for free. God only knows if they really use the money responsibly. (Also the lady who checked me out was standoffish with me from the get go, before I even opened my mouth to say hi.) The expectation, when one donates to a thrift store, is that their items will go to someone else who needs those items at an affordable price. Not that some organization will use the items to do charity gymnastics by overcharging. They should be focused first and foremost on ministering to the low-income people who come to thrift stores to get affordable furniture. Not freaking $300 for a small sideboard buffet. Anyway so I would recommend donating your furniture to the ARC rather than here, if you want to see it actually passed on affordably to families in need. But if you're looking to buy clothes, this is unfortunately probably the better bet in town. I feel gross giving them my money now. I think it's disgusting when any thrift shop takes advantage of donations finance their special interests. Just let people have somewhere affordable to shop; Lord knows we need it in this economy.

When I walked in, the cashier was sitting on the counter of the cash wrap in jeans and a baggy, wrinkled t-shirt, kicking her legs like she was at the park. Great first impression! I needed a new outfit for a job interview. Found a few outfits I wanted to try, all potentially to take home. I went to try them on and found the fitting rooms closed (the COVID flashback was intense!). I asked the very casual cashier why (I promise, I was polite) and she told me they now close the fitting rooms two hours before store close. I told her that they were losing my business because I don't buy clothes when I can't try them on. She shrugged, said okay and told me to have a nice night, it was clear it didn't matter to her that I was walking away from spending money there (how much are you paying her? It's too much). Call me crazy but wouldn't a clothing store want the fitting rooms open so people will, you know, buy clothes? I get it, times are rough for retail. Kohl's is apparently addressing the problem by hiring staff that don't care about hard times and instituting policies designed to turn customers away. Interesting approach but the empty parking lot tells me it isn't working. Tired of stores forgetting that satisfied customers are key to profits and instead giving the bare minimum to get the store from open to close each day (seriously, I'm not asking for special privilege, I just want to make sure the pants fit over my hips and don't sag. Good luck Kohl's, I'm going elsewhere. If I can't try clothes on I may as well order them online for half the cost, the desire to make sure clothes fit being one of the last reasons I still shop brick and mortar stores. It's sad because Kohl's has always been a favorite and now I have to drive to the next city to shop for decent clothing and even more important, decent service.

This specific business has changed some over the years. They opened up another location in South Fork called the Blue Eyed Bear and have made that their high end women's fashion and jewelry store that the owner is mostly at. That has made this location mostly touristy stuff. There's a lot of Creede t shirts and hoodies here, that's a good portion of the store. There are a lot of gifts like mugs, pottery, jewlery, candles and knives but a small amount of each now that they have split up into two locations. It's still a great place to visit and I've gotten a great handmade knife here at a good deal for my father before. It's still a good spot to come visit on the corner of Main and Wall. If you are looking for more high end women's clothing, I would suggest paying a visit to South Fork since it's only 20 miles away and the town has some other things to offer as well.

Owner said no, only the ones with a red dot, as I pulled the card from the tray of rings that said "half off". He said there was a mistake and some of the rings were misplaced. Horse hockey! A ploy to get you interested...he said I will give you 10% off. I felt this was very dishonest. Don't do business with people who are that deployable.

The racks were packed with shirts, jackets and pants, but since the shop is small, it is difficult to find your size and match your preference. But hey, check it out anyway, you just never know!
