I was then planning on re-coating everything with spray enamel paint and clear coat to save on costs before regaining my sanity, throwing in the towel and deciding to seek the help of seasoned professionals. After doing the research I should have done before I started, I learned how much more durable and better looking the results would be with professional sandblasting and powder coating so I started looking for a service in my area. Thats how I found Capital Powder Coating, and boy oh boy am I glad I did. This was my first experience getting anything powder coated. Aside from being extremely professional, communicative and dedicated to their craft, Gary and Jenny are both very lovely, kind and helpful by nature. They were so friendly and patient answering any and all questions I had about the process. They explained everything in depth, helped guide me in deciding on color and finish and even went as far as working with me on great price. Jenny helped with the initial quote, kept me updated on everything with texts and was always quick to respond when I texted. Gary picked-up and delivered my items himself and helped carry everything to and from my back yard. It was instantly clear upon delivery that they put the time and care into stripping and coating my items as if they were their own. I'm thrilled with the results and the quality has exceeded my expectations. I cannot recommend Captial Powder Coating enough. They will forever be my first call as new projects come up!

I would give 0 stars if I could. Below is my horrible experience with Joe Wall and the letter I…read moresent to the BBB..... I had some powder coating done by Joe who turned out to be the biggest asshole I have ever done business with. I had 2 custom aluminum pieces made to hold a cooler on the back end of the jet ski and Joe Wall painted both pieces. The powder coating on one of the racks began to crack and split into about 2 centimeter wide 'ribbons' after only two uses (smooth water river conditions). I requested that Joe fix the area where the paint was peeling off. My 1st complaint is that he had the rack from 6/6 to 7/3. This was about 3 times the time it took to fabricate the aluminum and have it painted originally. Joe was completely uncommunicative during this time, he never gave me any information on the status of the repaint, and all phone calls were sent directly to his voice mail. He also never once returned a phone call and would only occasionally return texts. When someone has your property, it is perfectly reasonable to expect that person to communicate with you about the status of the job and when you can expect to have your property back. Joe did none of that. Unbelievably it gets worse. On 6/27 when I texted him asking if the rack was ready and when it could be picked he told me he could meet on 6/28. We both agreed 1:00pm was acceptable and that we could confirm that time the morning of the 28th. Approximately 11:30am on the 28th I tried texting and calling him to push back the meeting time by 30 minutes. He never acknowledged any of the texts or calls. So, at 1:30 my girlfriend went to the meeting place (that he designated) and tried again to contact him. She texted to let Joe know that she was there waiting and he responded immediately that he was in Beaumont. When my girlfriend asked why he was in Beaumont and that he had not contacted myself or my girlfriend to cancel our meeting he was rude about the situation. In my experience when you stand someone up, an apology is the appropriate response. Again, Joe did not make any attempt to let us know what was going on with our cooler rack, or to return our property, and he was again extremely rude. The week of July 1st Joe was so uncooperative by refusing to answer phone calls and text messages and told me never to contact him again so I was not able to get the rack from him. The guy who originally built the rack had to send one of his employees to retrieve the work. Once I had the rack back in my possession, I examined it and notice drips and bubbles in the paint. The original area where the paint had begun to peel in 'ribbons' was very lumpy and it appeared that part of the rack had not been sanded, but only repowder coated. The cooler rack also had minor dents in the aluminum which were not there originally and was scuffed along the top rail. When I told Joe that the quality of the work was disappointing and that I would have rather have taken it elsewhere he became very angry and accused me of lying about how I had used the cooler rack. I am not exactly sure how one would misuse a cooler rack designed to hold a cooler attached to the back of a jet ski. It held a cooler on two short rides and at last check that was its intended purpose. In addition to accusing me of lying, he also became threatening. He specifically said he would show up at my place of employment and/or my home to settle this as men. So, not only is this a complaint about his customer service (or lack thereof), it is a complaint about delivery issues, product, and repair issues. I am appalled at with his behavior and cannot understand why, that after he made the mistakes it was our fault and why he couldn't make good as a business owner should and deliver the product, repainted, in the condition it was originally, and delivered to me. Horrible work done by a horrible person. Pay the extra $$$, go somewhere else and get your powder coating done right.

STAY AWAY!!! Same thing happened to me. He used to do work for Total Offroad but not any more…read more Dropped off wheels on Friday was supposed to have the back Wednsedy. Thursday rolls around and they were horrible. Really bad orange peel and he did not strip them completely. Then clear sprayed with a what looked like a rattle can. They were drip runs and puddled areas with clear. At this point I wanted a refund. On the inbound inspection the manager and staff could not believe someone would deliver these not knowing they were beyond such poor quality. He wanted to fix them. There was no way I could put any trust in his ability in 24 hours when he had 4 days and delivered such garbage. They were so bad it would be like a surgeon that cut off the wrong leg saying he can fix it and letting him try again. They were that bad. He just didnt want to give the refund. On the phone he got mad, then it came out. He couldn't give a refund because he spent it all in the first 15 minutes I transfered funds. Then he laughed at us after saying this over the phone. At this point I was in the store with the salesman and manager of Total Offroad on speaker when he said this. I even offered for him to keep the wheels if he gave me a refund but he literally did not have the funds. Total Offroad sent a courrier to pick up the wheels and we intercepted them mid repair. This was when we realized how unqualified and unequipped he was. He was gonna scuff and powder coat over. It was so bad from the drip that while working on the high spots he dug into the metal. He doesn't have the capability to blast becuase he does this out of his house. So it looked like he used a hand orbital and just went to town on them. I'm out the $1k on the amateur work he spent before completion, and $1440 for the wheels. He also did not return the center caps. The sad part is there are quality coaters in town that would have done it for cheaper, with quality tooling, and experience. Not the back of their house. More importantly wirh professionalism to make it right or give you your money back.
