Rude and inconsiderate. Don't use these people. The will rip you off and treat you bad all the way through. I wouldn't even get gas here. They even rip you off at the pump! They tried to have my review removed for not enough information. Well, I would recommend you call her requesting a tow or any other AAA service and find out what they are made of. I have even complained to AAA regarding their prioritizing whether someone will come out or not based on whether they have anything else going on in the moment. Its all about how much they can get from you at the moment. Clearly, they know return business is not their strength. This isn't my first encounter with this company. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A piece of my radiator system needed to be repaired because my car was overheating. I actually was recommended to go to this place. I give them my car. They end up keeping it for an ENTIRE MONTH!!!! Each week I will call in the car would still not be ready. And the owner himself would constantly dodge my calls. Finally after a months time, I got my car back I drove it to a few places within a few miles of where I live. After the fourth time driving it a pipe or two connected to the radiator exploded - coolant everywhere! I'm telling you right now, anyone with an ounce of intelligence would stay away from this place! You've been warned..... read more

They have been repairing my vehicles for years. I have NEVER had a problem here whatsoever when taking my cars in for repairs. It gets fixed right the first time and he has never ripped me off. I see the other 2 reviews, I guess you didn't grow up in the Rockaways. Sucks for you! Rule #1 - you dont go there for gas, just to get work done on your car. Rule #2 - don't just "park there because there are no other spots on 129th street". that sh*t just doesn't fly. I have been going to Bulloch's for EVERYTHING for my car since I was 17 years old. I know the family, and even if I didn't I would still go there. Tommy, who runs the place now with the oversight from his dad, is a great guy and extremely helpful - and they know what they are doing. They have NEVER steered me wrong, and cut me a deal whenever they can. Just went in for an inspection and and oil change last week, cost me $40 and was done in an hour. Did I mention also that this was a Saturday? They do not "damage you car and blame you". Sorry g.p., sounds like you have some issues of your own. Brough f 150 in after getting quote from ford, tom Bulloch dis the job for 1/2 the price. Then had a puncture on my Porsche Carrera S, I purchased the tires and Tom and his mechanic put them on free of charge, great service and very fairly priced. read more

Bulloch's was recommended to me by the ranger at Camp Gateway Floyd Bennett Field when my 2005 Scion xB had a misfiring cylinder. I had a pretty good idea that it needed an ignition coil replacement. I'm on vacation from Missouri and figuring New York City is about the most expensive place to have work done on my car, but it had to be done. Plus it was the 3rd of July. I called my mechanic back home and he said the job would be about $210 so anything over $300 would be price gouging. Bulloch's took my car in immediately and checked it out. They said it needed a new coil and spark plug. Complete cost $200. About an hour and a half later the car was fixed and they honored that price (the owner even took off tax to make it $200). I was extremely LUCKY to have found this place. read more

This is a family run business...father is the head mechanic with his sons working beside him and the mother working the office with the bills. They are decent people...especially the wife who is always so nice, maybe because you are giving her your cash. But I have found much better service downtown at the Mobil or Exxon stations. Overpriced me a few times on some items. read more

This "review" is really to say thanks again to Tommy and crew for saving my bike. After someone clipped through the ignition wires of my motorcycle at Rockaway Beach this weekend Bulloch's sent a truck over late Saturday night and tried everything to get it started for over an hour. After we reconnected the wires, tested the battery and tried to jump start it, it sill wouldn't work and I reluctantly let them take it away. With all the other garages closed, if they hadn't come and helped me out I could almost guarantee my bike wouldn't have been there in the morning. The guys had my bike ready to go first thing on Monday and gave me some preferential pricing for the work and the tow . I'd say that's pretty good service given to a complete stranger who is not from the neighborhood. Can't say thanks enough guys. Arthur read more

After availing myself of their offer to remove Snow, i WOULD NEVER USE THEM FOR MY CAR. They came hours late did not clear the driveway or the walk way..My neighbors were shocked at the shoddy job. I'd give a negative rating if I could, seriously. Also known as Bullochs of Belle Harbor, this family-run "business" is a disgrace. First of all, g.p's review is pretty much on the dot on how incompetent they are. **I brought my car in for an inspection due to the engine being louder than usual. Big mistake. Somehow, they ended up breaking my steering wheel and claimed no responsibility. In addition, my windshield had visible damage and they claimed that it was present before the car was brought in. BS! Finally, I had left an old wallet with emergency cash ($50-60) in my glove compartment and it was missing. Tommy and his wife seemed nice when I first brought my car in. Their attitude quickly changed when I came to retrieve the car. I should've read this yelp page before I foolishly brought my car there. *PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR, AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I used to have good experiences with this place, always took my car there for regular maintenance as I live in the neighborhood. However, it's become apparent that the family is seriously failing to oversee the staff as of late. I was given an obscene estimate to fix a number of things that did not require repairs. All in all the mechanic and receptionist attempted to sell me thousands of dollars of unnecessary repairs, and when I came in to see the supposed problems the car was already taken down off the lift and moved into the parking lot. Went to another garage, got the simple fix, and got to look at each item Bulloch's claimed needed replacing. None of it was necessary, in fact the one thing that did need replacing wasn't even listed on the estimate. I'm never going there again, even if it wasn't the family that tried to pull one over on me, they are either negligent in their hiring practices or fostering a culture among their employees where lying and cheating is encouraged. Awful experience and will never return. After paying a whole lot of money, I left with the same problem I went there with. The mechanic was nasty and blamed his incompetence on my not telling him to check the "exhaust". Isn't the mechanic supposed to know what to check? The owner was pleasant to start with, but when I had a complaint, he was "out on a tow" and I was told to return several days later. I will not go back there. read more

used to go to the bullochs filling station on beach channel drive &116th st. dont know if this is the same one. but if it is they always did the right thing by me. think jim went to st francis de salles. used to see him at the church bazaar.in my estimation he was a generous guy and he used to give to catholic charities. mr coyle the hardware store owner used to get his car fixed at bullochs even though he lived in belle harbor he go to 116th st. i used to work at the park theater cleaning up after the movie and then go over to bullochs for a bottle of pop and ol man bulloch would give me a cigarrette on the arm- no charge- nice people. read more
