This is a local dive right off Palm Ave. that has everything you need to get your drink on and chill without going all the way to IB to fight for a parking spot. Just enough TVs to watch your game and a pool table to pass the time. Personally I'd go to IB for the clientelle but if you want cheap drinks and company then this is the spot. read more

I love this bar. I call it the "Gateway to Imperial Beach". You can watch all the traffic that comes in and out of IB from this fantastic little dive bar. They have the best bartenders in IB and the best drink specials. I won't say more because its one of IB's best kept secrets and should probably stay that way. read more

The bartender lost my credit card. The bar was fun enoughwhilewatching the game but when I went to pay she took my card and disappeared. When I asked her about it she accused me of being too drunk and not remembering things accurately. I had to cancel my card and 100000% she took it and even confirmed with me the charge. This place is scary. My friends thought it would be fun to check out this bar last night. I question their judgment. We strolled in to a cloud of awkwardness. This tiny bar was 90% regulars who all seemed to be bombed already. I'm good with being tanked by 8pm, but this was too much. The bar was small and had a stumble through layout. Nice to see pool tables, darts, jukebox and a couple touchscreen systems. However, I was so out of my element here that I didn't leave my bar stool. The beer was cheap. I observed some pretty stiff cocktails being served. The crowed was predominately country. The jukebox continued with country anthems, one after another. I knew it was time to bail when my buddy thought it would be funny to spend his jukebox play on Ice Cube's Greatest Hits. We promptly paid and left. One last thing I just had to mention. This place was so seedy that at one point, a female patron swigged her drink and then lit her cigarette in the bar. This seemed to bother no one there. read more

I am a regular there and love to go when bobby is bartending but tonight I recieved horrible service from a new female bartender.I just wanted one beer and the bartender insisted that it was cheeper for me to get a three for one deal even though the beer I was drinking was the special of the night. She was so hell bent on selling me the three for one special that she couldn't take "no" for an answer. She actually gave me drink chips incase I changed my mind! The bar is crappy, fights, drama. And if the cops see you leaving they will pull you over. (hasn't happened to me--I'm walking distance) I think it's on their radar because it's mostly local trash that goes there and the cops are called there often. Anyone who did not give this bar 5 stars has never been to an awesome bar before. As a New Orleans native, I take pride in finding great venues that offer an experience. This will be the first time I will go as cliche as saying this place really raises the Bar. If you are looking for food, go to a restaurant. Its a "Dive Bar", and those of us who searched the world over for Dive Bars can appreciate the unique quality in all. BTW, my highest rated "Dive Bar" in the world so far is the Rudder Room in Oxnard, CA, stop by if your ever in the area. I have to say I like the crowd at Bullpen. My friends and I were there only 10 mins and one local was buying a round for all of us. It is full of locals, and I consider myself one now since I escaped the onslaught of rich zonies and tourists taking over Coronado to now call IB my home. The bartender Tracy is great, and somehow remembered our names after one stop over. So if you like Dive bars you will like Bullpen. Really cool laid back people. Drama filled, dirty, nastiest rest room I've seen other than a back alley bar in Singapore..... The beer is hit or miss if it is going to be cold or not, I mean come on Coors light has a label that turns blue if it is cold..... They go through bar tenders on a regular basis, that alone should tell you something. In the summer there is little to no air flow, so it gets very hot especially when busy.
