Best pulled pork sandwich. I've had in a long time. Great atmosphere for a dive bar. Would return!

It's a mix of old school dive bar and upscale cocktail bar. Like, you can get a Boh here, but you can also get a $16 craft cocktail that will rival anything you can buy at more classic cocktail lounge or speakeasy. It is small, so you will be forced to get to know your neighbors at the bar. They will undoubtedly be cool, though, because this place attracts a fun crowd. The only downside, really, is that it is so dark inside I can never read the menu, which is written in colored marker on the mirror behind the bar.

I did go on a Monday night, but the bartender was extremely off putting, and just gave off really negative energy but the service itself wasn't horrible. She just was kind of mean. That's said the cocktails here are stupidly good. The old-fashioned here used to be $10 but now it's $14 but it's still so excellent and worth it. It rivals cocktails of really good places and unexpected for this divey place. There is no food, but they do have chips that they sell that are clothpinned along the door and the plantain chips were really delicious. The lighting is really really low towards the back end of the bar, but to the front where they have the TV there's always something interesting. This is a must visit for anyone that is local or visiting, and hopefully the staff is friendlier this time.

She works as the packaged good manager and has had a nasty attitude for years. People complain about her all the time but nothing changes, including the way she treats people. I guess the owners are afraid to talk to her about it because she is considered a minority. Tonight we waited for a call in pick up carry out order for an hour. You'd think she would be sweet and apologetic but no. We had two orders, a burger and wings. They gave us the wings for free but that didn't come with a remorseful apology, it came with narcissistic attitude from Andrea. I called and said I would be down to speak to her. I was sweet and ordered a power ball ticket. As she was waiting on my I said one thing, "you get more bees from honey than you do with vinegar." She immediately turned nasty and through my two dollars back on the counter and refused to give me the ticker. Then I got out my phone and recorded her saying, "I don't care if you call and talk to Jack or John." The point is, she doesn't care because she's a narcissist and people have complained about her but obviously, she's got something over Jack and John that makes them afraid of her too. It's sad because I used to go in there a lot but, now I avoid it like the plague. It's a shame because there are some really nice people who work at Monaghans's. Then there's Andrea. Shes just so miserable about herself that she takes it out on everyone else. Sad. Just sad.

You can enter on Main Street, or from the back patio. For the full dive-effect, I like to come directly from the old iron staircase in the back, halfway up to the patio, past the original tiny old restrooms and the ice machine. (There's nicer restrooms on the performance / pool-table side.) I looked in on the pool-table side where bands play regularly. There's seating there for around 30, mostly used when bands are playing or by pool-players or when the bar side is full. There's some benches out on the patio for warmer weather and for smoking. The walls are covered with old rock memorabilia, and i love the bar side where there are old albums on the ceiling too! Plus a collection of old stuff over the years that defies description. The bar seats maybe 15. I always sit on the bar side, where it's usually dimly lit. You can get basic mixed drinks and some premium spirits, and plenty of varieties of beers, some craft, some old regulars. They have a small kitchen, too. I usually just get a cold Natty Boh and watch some sports on their several tvs, or talk to anyone I know, or anyone who happens to be nearby. This time i got there on a Thursday after 5 and it was pretty quiet, between the regulars who finish around 4pm and the music-lovers who come after 6 or 7. This time I was one-and-done. I've been here for some rock, and mostly for a more Catonsvillian variety of punk and metal, sometimes every night!, though usually not Mondays. Sometimes there's a cover. It's usually good bands, with a lively crowd, some from the nearby college. There's a small number of parking spaces straight out back, only on their side of the alleys, and leaving the spaces behind the deck for the apartments to the east. The out-front street parking is pay at-the-meter or by-app during Mon-Sat 8-6, and otherwise free.

About 3 times a week, after work, I eat-in, have a drink to decompress from the day and work on my writing. For the first time, I ordered the Seafood Salad (not the seafood salad you're thinking about). NOOOO BOO (lol) This is a fresh garden salad with EVERY seafood your little heart could desire-Lobster, Shrimp, Scallop, Crab... OMG and do you see the size of that bowl. On the right, I ordered ONE of my favs, the Crab Dip Pretzel. The pretzel is LOADED with a flavorful, not to runny dip and a ton of cheese and if you're a cheese fan like I am, you know the more the merrier... Right?! Of course, no meal is complete without a "happy hour" Lemon Drop. Now listen... I know everyone can't make a good lemon drop, especially for me. I like mine with a little more sugar than sour like myself...lol. I like my food, like I like my women, fattening, pleasant and satisfying. Corinthians nail it every time.

Service was slow but friendly and the drinks were strong with reasonably priced. They definitely did what they were supposed to do! All and all, decent experience. Nice and safe neighborhood bar. No drama, just fun.
