I started out interested in only private Pilates lessons, but our work has expanded to include strength training sessions on the gym floor. I'm starting to see results, which is awesome - my waist is trimmer, and I definitely have more muscle definition in my arms and legs. I also can tell I've gotten stronger - I feel that in my day to day life just doing regular stuff. Hiking, doing stuff in my garden, grocery store trips - I feel sturdier on my feet and a little more agile. One of my favorite moments in working out is when we discover I've gotten strong or confident enough to do a particular exercise I couldn't do before! And I totally appreciate Holly's expertise & judgement - she is cautious and always modifies or changes an exercise if something hurts or is off and I feel safe in that she won't have me do anything that's going to cause an injury. She is mindful of skipping positions that will unnecessarily strain my joints (like knees) and instead replacing them with exercises that will target the same muscle but be easier on the joint involved. I also really like Holly as a person - she's smart, patient, funny, kind, appropriately challenging. It's been fun getting to know each other and that also makes it better on the days I just don't feel like working out or am low energy for whatever reason. I was excited to try out this newly opened gym in the area, and while there are definitely some high points, my overall experience has been mixed. The trainers are knowledgeable and supportive, and the workouts themselves are generally well-structured and energizing. I especially appreciated the option to reserve spots in advance -- a helpful feature for those with busy schedules. The trainers also will ask for song requests, which I always appreciate. However, a few significant issues left a bad taste. One major concern was the repetitive use of the step master in their workouts. It felt overused and, unfortunately, led to a strained Achilles tendon that's had me sidelined for over a month. Just be aware and listen to your body. They recommend you to come in 4-5 times a week. Looking back I probably should've done less starting out. Another frustrating moment came when I checked in for a reserved class, only to be moved to a different spot without any courtesy of asking. The front desk said they had a group trying out the class and all of them were put on the stair master. It's a small thing, but it disrupted the experience and made it feel less personalized. Also, why does a group trying the class get priority over a paying membership customer? Finally, I had invited a friend to try the gym and had called in advance to sign her up. Despite that, she wasn't added to the class list, and when we arrived, the session was full. She was turned away -- and all they offered her was a free pair of socks. Not exactly the best first impression. There's promise here, but I hope management takes these issues seriously. A great gym is more than good trainers -- it's also about attention to detail and respect for your members' time and trust. read more

I've been a member at Bunda since January and I can't recommend it enough! The workouts leave me feeling accomplished every time. Every class is like a personalized session with a trainer. Productive and under an hour! What really sets Bunda apart is the motivating atmosphere. The trainers are knowledgeable and make sure you get the most out of every class. I got a little tired towards the end because I haven't worked out in 3 weeks due to a cold, traveling and other holiday events. Thankfully I survived. This would be a perfect class for men to meet women because there were a ton of women and 1 other male student. I think this is a good class. I can't compare this to my boxing class because it's totally different. Personally I prefer the mitts and glove work versus kicking and punching the air. I like partner work. This class is good for individuals. If I were a resident of the area, I'd definitely pick this over the 24 hour fitness or cross fit.

There are so many climbs where the belayer has to physically force the rope through the belay device because it's gotten so fat over time, both when the climber goes up and when letting them down. The monthly member rate keeps going up, but I'm not seeing where that money's going because of the poor upkeep. It's unfortunate there's no other climbing gyms in the area.
