I'm the kind of person who only writes reviews if I have a great experience or something positive to say. After thinking and overthinking, I feel compelled to say that John is a JOKE. I couldn't stay silent about this. I love adventures, and if you're like me, don't waste your money and time. John said he would email us the night before to confirm the jump, depending on the weather. He sent the email confirming the jump, everyone knew it would be drizzling. It was a long drive for all jumpers (2-3 hours), and when we arrived at the confirmed location, he spent the entire time trying to convince us not to do the adventure. He kept saying it would be cold (today is 12/28/24 it was 52 degrees in Placerville) and wet (really? You knew it'd be drizzling since yesterday). And he said it wasn't dangerous and he has experience in all weather conditions...but since we were all women, apparently we were too weak, right John?! He asked if we'd be okay with the weather and all the women (four jumpers) said we'd be fine. However, he apparently wasn't happy with our response, so he continued trying to dissuade us. The guy with him, Ludo, was really cool, uplifting, and professional (Dude! If you're reading this, go start your own business; you're great). Anyway, after everyone reassured him about the weather, John asked me if we could talk privately. He then expressed his concern that I might not be able to do the adventure because I'm on the "heavier side." Just to clarify, I'm a 5'7" woman, 140 lbs, and very active. When I unzipped my jacket he goes : "-oh wow, you got a flat stomach, but you know what?? Are you sure your friends would be ok to be out there in the cold with you?" (I had two guests with me) With the other woman, he claimed she didn't have the right clothes and continued to discourage us for over an hour. Even when we said we were ready to go and do the jump, he said he'd cancel it. Furthermore, if you didn't know, he doesn't have a permit for his "adventures". Be careful, don't trust your life to this guy. read more

What an amazing experience! John and Don are great and put my mind at ease about the jump. They were very professional and have run thousands of jumps. They thoroughly answered any questions that my group had and were continuously asking if anyone had any questions or concerns. My group sprung for the whole picture, video, and GoPro packages and it was absolutely worth it! The GoPro in particular was able to capture our exact reactions when we fell and is a great way to look back on such a unique memory. (But as John warned, do not let the GoPro interfere with being aware during your jump). One of my group members has a history of back problems so they recommended going with the body harness instead of the ankle harness we all paid for. She immediately got her money back and I was reassured that I could switch harnesses if I ended up chickening out of the ankle one. However, I am so happy I went with the ankle harness as it truly felt like I was flying during the jump. You may choose to go forward or backward and let me tell you it is terrifying to turn around on the railing but definitely worth it!! The location we went to was breathtaking and peaceful. Happened to do my first bungee jump with this co. owned by John. Got in touch with him approx. 10 days before we decided to do the jump. He was very responsive to all our questions related to the jump, location, pricing and kept us updated on a timely manner via text messages and sometime by call. Also a special shout out to him for being accommodative to our request for carrying out this activity exclusively for us on a weekday (Of course, in this pandemic era, I wouldn't have agrred to do it along with a larger group of other people on weekends). Much appreciate that John. On the day of jump : We had to drive to this location for more than 2 hours from Santa Clara area. Upon reaching there, John greeted us at the Round table pizza and walked us into a separate, secluded room where there were no patrons and gave a brief orientation about the jump, cables used, putting on the harness etc for about 30 mins. We then headed to the jump location which was further 30 mins. drive from there. The location : The location was just so serene. Breathtaking! It was a bridge which had a beautiful fresh water stream flowing underneath and lush, green trees on either side of it. And the setting sun made the space more vivacious. Oh well, not forgetting to mention we had to drive on the dirt road for a brief 4 to 5 miles. Not complaining. It was total fun as it reminded me of the roads in my hometown in India. Lol! Finally the moment of jump : As it was getting darker, we did not have the luxury of time to bask in the beauty of the place and click some photos. John hurried us and helped us to put on the harnesses to get set to jump. As i stood on the edgr of the bridge, ready to plunge, I had a thousand thoughts in my head. Phew! For a first timer, like me, it was hella scary to stand there and just jump off on a count of 5 to 1. Note : The jumper would be given 2 chances to jump off as John counts from 5 to 1. If you don't jump within those 2 chances then your jump will be cancelled. Since we were just 2 jumpers he was bit lenient and agreed to give 3 chances and ample time to jump. Really sweet! First jump I did with body harness. Second jump somehow I couldn't do wearing just the ankle harness. So, I gave up. It would take approximately about 15 to 20 mins to complete one jump. Imo, i just had an amazing experience doing this activity on my birthday eve. A special day and an event to remeber for. John is an engineer, a thorough professional and has a bungee jumping experience for 30 years. If you're an adventure freak and like to experience some adrenaline rush then try this out. The one star off is because when I gave up on my second jump with ankle harness, John got really worked up and that didn't go down well with me. The other reason is as my hubby did the jump (say around 9:15pm) he was reluctant to click his pics despite my ask. Could be because it was completely dark, but he had a good camera which could be used with flash to capture few pics in the dark. Also we were asked to NOT take photos/videos of the jump on our phones and NOT to publish the photos(he's taken which were sent to us within 48hrs as communicated) on social media with hashtag using the co. name. read more

The facilitator, and crew, are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, supportive, and willing to answer relative questions to instill confidence in one participating in an event. I have never felt so inclined to create a yelp account and write a review until I encountered this business. You would think that with a pandemic occurring in the world right now, businesses like these would be more accommodating and understanding with their customers. That was not the case with my experience. I booked a jump back in February for April 4th. Around March 18th is when shelter in place orders started occurring, which was roughly 2 weeks before my jump date. This business' policy requires a 2 weeks notice for cancellation and a full refund. However, these orders were expected to be lifted by April 1st at the time so I did not bother to call and cancel my trip. Evidently, the orders were extended and as soon as I found out which was March 29, I emailed the owner to cancel. We ended up speaking on the phone the following day and he insisted I just reschedule since I can reschedule within 2-3 months after my original jump date. I was hesitant, but I complied. Fast forward it was almost mid May and shelter in place orders continued to be extended and cases had not stopped increasing. So I reached out once more to the owner John, requesting a refund again because I could use the money for other crucial financial matters during this hard time; to which he insists on rescheduling AGAIN. Completely disregarding my reason for the refund, ignoring the fact that I need the money for other matters, and directing me to his refund policies on their site. The timing of this pandemic and shelter in place orders being extended was out of my control. Had I known they were going to be extended past my jump date when they first started, I would have easily cancelled two weeks in advance. I also live out of town and expressed my concerns for traveling during a time like this. But clearly the owner seems to not care, and still refused to give me my refund. As a result, I had to dispute the charge and am now writing this review. To top it all off, it seems as though this business operates ILLEGALLY. After this unpleasant exchange of communication with the owner, I was curious whether others had experienced similar situations as mine and read up on the yelp reviews (which I should've done before ever booking with this place). I found multiple people stating how the business operates illegally and unprofessionally with NO PERMITS. I'd like to give this place the benefit of the doubt and note that those reviews were a few years old and with time they could've obtained permits by now. But from what I've experienced with the owner, I have strong doubts and am glad I am not jumping with them regardless. To sum up this unpleasant and lengthy review, DO NOT book your jumps with this business. Find a place that is legit, legal, and professional WITH permits. read more

John was fantastic! So professional. He's super detail oriented and puts safety first. Don't listen to the other reviewers about not having permits. You're going to be jumping off a bridge and you're worried about getting yelled at by a park ranger? It adds to the excitement of it all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Everything mentioned in the other reviews is true, the staff was nice, they didn't have permits for the jumps, we were informed if the police or sheriffs came we'd have to start over elsewhere or hope they'd not stop us. I had been looking for a place to bungee jump for a long time before I stumbled upon this place and had been told that it's illegal in California by a sky diving company I had used. If that's true idk, but I still said eff it and went. The bridge we jumped off was in a beautiful location, surrounded by rushing water, trees and we got lucky the sun was setting. The jump was so much fun! I gave 4/5 stars because my best friend is afraid of heights, she informed them. They had her go last & due to the rushing of people through, John wasn't very understanding when he counted down twice and she wouldn't jump. She told me he basically said "you either jump now or you don't go" he ended up holding her hands and dropping her off. Just felt if you're in the business of people conquering fears you should have some empathy & handle it better. read more

Great team! Great Location! Initially I was little skeptical on going to this place as this was not state licensed. I went there with a group of 8 people jumping. I must say, it was one hell of an experience. John had a great team, very friendly and knowledgeable. It was fun jumping with them. They took us to an amazing location where we jumped. Guys, if you want a rewarding experience, and a calm environment without too much crowd, this is the place. Be aware, that its a small group(John and team) who is a part of Bungee adventures. Short version: Bungee Adventures is who you want to trust with your bungee experience! Can't wait to do it again. Long Version: Let me start by​ saying that John and Edwin are amazing individuals. I called and texted them a couple of​ times and they were always quick to respond. I was driving from San Jose to Lake Tahoe and was trying to bungee jump on the way and arrive in Tahoe by a certain time. John informed me that the time I was shooting for would not be possible but he would (and he definitely did) do everything possible to accommodate us. Pre-jump: My girlfriend and I Took a drive to our meeting location for a briefing of what to expect on our adventure and for a short sales pitch on the extra services they offer. It was both informative and comforting to hear what they had to say. John and Edwin have so much experience and passion in sport. After their explanation of the experience between the body and ankle harness, both my girlfriend and I decided to jump with an ankle harness. (it was the right choice!) Following the meeting, we caravanned (8 of us total including John and Edwin) in 3 cars to the bridge which was about an hour away from the meeting location. The bridge location was beautiful! Surrounded by mountains, trees and the sights and sounds of roaring water. (keep in mind they​ have multiple locations so description may vary) Set up on our day took a bit longer than average because of the unexpected high water in the stream below the bridge. John and Edwin were very thorough in assessing the area and keeping the entire group safe at all times. You could tell that they did not want us to get injured. The Jump: I won't write to much here because you have to go and experience this! The bridge (we opted for the 100ft jump) seemed so much higher once we laid eyes on it. I felt safe the entire time under the supervision of John and Edwin but the fear of jumping creeps up. 5-4-3-2-1 JUMP! I have not felt so present in a long time, It was just me and getting myself to release my grip on the rail. One of my favorite experiences! ( keep in mind that my hobbies include rock climbing, mountaineering, skydiving, etc) Bungee jumping is a must do! Post jump: This is something I have to do again. Amazing experience that will definitely have me going back! I signed up for the Tree Swing this past weekend and it's easily one of the most memorable things I've ever done. The laid back friendly environment John and Edwin create throughout the whole process made it really easy to relax and enjoy yourself. Safety was never an issue for me...they took the time to walk through all of the equipment and techniques. John helped you get set up at the bottom and as soon as you got to the top Edwin was there to finish the process and guide you towards your leap. Overall, this was a stellar experience. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for something new to try. This was my first time jumping from anything this high up..so it was a little intense, but with the combination of safety, personal and the environment...I'm now eager to test my personal limits. I jumped off the bridge yesterday (my boyfriend and I went with a group of 7).It was one of the most amazing, spiritual, transformational experiences of my life! John and his team were wonderful to work with (John was understanding and gracious when we arrived 30 minutes late). Not only was his team organized, proficient and professional - they were also very personable, supportive and as excited for everyone as we jumped like they had known us for years. One even acted genuinely interested during my nature-induced, blissed-out narcissistic constant chatter about my profound life revelations...Lol. I honestly felt like a bird flying free and carefree in the wind as I swung over the roaring river below. And the adrenaline rush was so excited and invigorating!! PROS: The actual bungee jumping experience was pretty awesome. Once we were out on the bridge, John and Don made me feel really safe. They were super friendly and enthusiastic about their work. Since I was jumping around my birthday, John was very kind and offered a free video. Things were also very efficient on the bridge; with a group of about 12 people, it took about an hour for everyone to jump. CONS: Even though we met at 3, we didn't actually leave for the bridge until 4:30. We met at a Round Table, where we went around the room and introduced ourselves. (Usually, I don't mind icebreakers like that but my group had already driven 3 hours to get there.) They then spent almost an hour trying to sell us additional packages, all of which was already on their website. The photos/videos aren't great quality, so I wouldn't recommend getting them. (Plus, they took photos of each jump, which kind of defeats the purpose of paying for pictures.) John and Don were also up front that they don't have permits to jump off the bridge and that what they're doing is illegal, which is a little off putting. It's the reason we had to meet at a Round Table, then drive to an undisclosed location in the forest. We had to wait until a family finished taking photos on the bridge, and if any park rangers caught us, we were supposed to pretend we were just sightseeing. When you're on the bridge, it's actually pretty rushed (you only get two countdowns to jump before they pull you off) because they're afraid of getting caught. The night before the jump I was also sketched out because John called and texted me multiple times asking if I could give a jumper in SF a ride. I live an hour away from SF, and I didn't appreciate being bothered the night before the jump. OVERALL, the jump was amazing and I did have a ton of fun. My criticisms are pretty minor, but they did signal a lack of professionalism and an overall sketchiness that made me very wary before the jump. There aren't a lot of bungee companies in the Bay, so Bungee Adventures may be your only option but be aware that there are issues. read more

Things I liked: -Jon and Don knew what they were doing and made feel secure. I was actually not super nervous to jump because apparently Jon is an ex-mechanical engineer who specialized in bungee jumping which is really cool! They're also really nice people and easy to talk to. -Bungee jumping is a super fun experience and you should give it a try! To me, it feels very liberating. Things I did not like: -We spent almost more than at hour talking at the Round Table pizza. If the talk was about safety, then I would understand that, but it felt like forced introductions and ranting that did not really add to the experience, especially since it took 3 hours to get there and another 3 to get back. -The whole nature of the operation is sketchy. The whole business is kept on the down low and personally when I'm jumping off a bridge, sketchiness is the last thing I want. -The photos and videos are not very high quality, so don't expect much from it. read more

I'm glad my first bungee jumping experience was with these guys! They were both super encouraging and knowledgeable and I had a blast spending the day hanging out and jumping. The pictures I got from this adventure were fantastic, I'm so happy with them :D It was also neat watching them try out a new jumping trick. My girlfriend and I went jumped with John and his team and had an amazing experience! John (owner) was there the entire time with his two guides who were all extremely knowledgable and made the trip even better. We met at a meet up location and were briefed on the background of the company and what our experience would be like. We then drove to the bridge which was located in a breathtakingly beautiful spot over a river. Don't let the pictures one yelper posted fool you, the location is awesome. This is a very safe company to jump with and not once did I feel unsafe; I was scared which is the nature of the activity but did not feel at any point that the team was going to mess anything up for me. I would highly recommend going with this company if you are looking to bungee jump and have a great experience. read more

First of all - they admitted that everything that they do is illegal and they do not have permits for any of it. You also are not jumping off of a bridge, its an aqueduct for a nearby company that has "No Trespassing" and "Do Not Enter" signs all over the place. The guy in charge of the company told us flat out that "If we get caught, you are to tell them that we are just hiking the area." We didn't meet until 3 pm at a pizza place before they would give us directions to the bridge. Since it is illegal, they will not give the bridge location since it changes each time they do it to lessen the chance of getting caught. That's also the reason that it is so late in the afternoon-- so that the park rangers have left the area already. They told us that we'd be back to that pizza place around 7-8 that night when we were done. We didn't leave the pizza place until 4:30 and didn't even arrive at the location until after 6.You will carpool out to the bridge so that there are less cars parked around the area so its not as suspicious. The first jump didn't even start until almost 7... There were 23 jumps that night and only the first couple of them were completed in the daylight. We were 2 of the last 3 jumpers of the night and decided not to jump. We did not want our first jump to be done in the pitch black - we wanted to be able to see what was going on, experience our first jump and get pictures of it. The staff continually tried to convince us to jump anyways since they wanted to keep our money. We decided to get a refund on our money and leave. The majority of the staff was very unhelpful and uninformed of what was going on. Do NOT use this company. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. John is not very professional. I signed up several weeks in advance and was told that my date was not a problem. Three days before the jump he called me and said that we might have to cancel. Three days! He then said that he would know more the day before the event. Some of us actually plan out our time, John. Come the day before I was supposed to jump, sure enough, he cancelled on us. I rescheduled and ended up jumping the next time. He showed up to the meeting spot late. Then we wasted a bunch of time with them trying to sell us pictures, upgrades, etc. When it finally came time to jump, John didn't even go with us! He left that to his two early 20's guides. Granted, they were not bad guys and seemed more professional then John, but still. We finally jumped off of this dirty, graffiti-laden bridge and the actual jump was fun (how could it not be?). BTW- he does not have permits to jump anywhere in California. Here's a quote, "If someone comes and we get kicked out of there, we'll just come back a few hours later." WTF. I highly recommend Bungee Jumping. Done right, the experience can change your life. I would just find someone else who can show you a good time. read more

The view is nice and the bungee jumping experience was spectacular. One of a life time experience. However, we were not notified clearly that we would have to drive our own car from the meet up spot to the real destination which took more than an hour. The site states that the group would carpool from the meet up spot. So it would be better if the site states more clearly that the group would carpool with our OWN car. Also another star was deducted as the video quality is not that great. I would recommend only purchase the pictures. The video does not worth an extra ten bucks. When I asked my son how he wanted to spend his 15th birthday and he announced bungee jumping I thought he was out of his mind. I felt very uneasy about the idea but didn't want to stifle his adventurous spirit. My nerves were quickly settled after meeting Jon and Don. We had a powwow with them and the other jumpers introducing ourselves, dealing with general safety procedure and also going over package options. We then caravanned to the jump location which was AMAZING!! Even tho I myself wasn't jumping I had the most wonderful time watching everyone who did. I spent my time getting pictures of our family members as they jumped and enjoying the beauty we were surrounded by. The entire group of jumpers was wonderful and so fun to be around. Good vibes everywhere!! Both instructors were totally professional and you could tell even tho they were having fun doing their jobs they were there to work. I payed very close attention to them as they set up and double check lines between jumps. They had great communication and made a really great team. At the beginning of this experience I had no desire to bungee jump but now I can't wait until I get the chance to do it myself!! Check Off Bungee Jumping from my "Things to do (Bucket List)" Thanks to John from Bungee Adventures, I found courage to jump off a bridge that was over a 100ft drop from the top. I hope my pictures come out good because things didn't go as planned with my jump I was suppose to jump on my own but I needed Johns help to let my rope go an I fell backwards lols.. Thanks John! I completely agree with Scott K. While the instructors are easy to talk to and great to get to know the logistics are sketch which is the last thing I want to hear when jumping off a bridge with people I don't know. We also didn't need as much time with introductions after driving so long to get there. Additionally the added price for pictures and video is NOT worth it. The quality was very poor on the videos we received - very shaky. Overall review, go with a different group. read more

THIS IS NOT A LEGIT OPERATION!! They clearly tell you they dont have permissions to jump from bridges. They tell you they want to finish jumps before cops arrive.they ask you not to share pictures. All of that put me off. I started wondering Is it worth risking your life for fun when this is not at all legit. Basically if anything happens you are on your own. Had I known this before I would have not gone(i got the jump as a surprise gift). All the other things are mentioned by other reviewers. 2 stars only for the location. read more

I wanted to share my experience with John and Team , they are no doubt very knowledgeable and trustworthy but at the same time highly unprofessional. Me and my friend went for Bridge Bungee Jumping last week and we were the only Indians in the batch of 6 People.Below is what I felt and observed : 1.Before taking you to the bridge there will be a session of introduction and instructions which is I think fine but it would take more than hour for this session where they will show you all the slides and various pictures and try to sell you stuff like you need to pay extra for different kind of Harness, pics and videos which is still ok I am highlighting this here as I would talk about this later again. 2.They dont have permit to jump from any bridges , this means that if anything happens to you they should not be accountable.The crew members will keep you reminding of this time to time and will be scared to be in any of the pictures. And WILL NOT start the jump unless all others around have left the venue. 3.Most important thing they will not allow you to take any pictures or videos because they would ask you to pay for them, its business..fine!. But the pictures they take are usually out of focus and Video is unedited and not formatted properly, you could hear the weird screaming sound and background noise in the video while you had jumped. So you need to edit it yourself if you want to share it inspite of paying for it. John was more attentive to other people(except me and my friend) in the group and was asking them to pose after they did the jump, when actually they did not paid for the pics and videos.We realized it later. He shared the pics with everyone whether they had paid or not..to be noted it was only me and my friend and one other lady who paid for the pics and videos. And pictures for all others in the group were better than ours!!(Was that done intentionally ?) And who takes 3 days to share pics and videos??They tell you that they will provide the pics and videos in 48 Hours but they took more than that to share pics with us and when they did I had no pics of the jump !! 4.When I called John to tell that I am not happy with the pics he accused me saying that I took 3 countdowns to jump and he was helping me to jump and could not take pictures but the fact is there was other person helping me and not John.This was my first Bungee jump and I really wanted the pics and videos for my memories.And I am not an experienced jumper obviously I will be scared which is normal but I hardly took less than 10 mins to complete my jump including extra countdowns. I told him that you were the main photographer and you should concentrate on the pics or give the job to someone else in defense he again said that since I took 3 coutdowns it delayed the jump for the last person who had to jump in the dark which is not true it was not me who delayed it was the 1.5 hours introduction session and then the time spent at the bridge when they were waiting for people to leave who were there for a family picnic.Moreover after everyone in the group was done jumping the last 3 to jump were the crew members and experienced jumpers who were really not required to jump!! He also told me that because you took so many countdowns we had to take couple of videos and there are 4 videos should we charge you extra for that ? He finally didnt share my video.I did follow up on emails but he never responded. He did the refund for my pics and videos but there is nothing which I could look at and remember! the thought of bungee jumping always terrified me more than sky diving. having done both, i must say i was correct. when you leap off a bridge, it is all up to you, and your life hangs - literally - on a string (in this case bungee cords). john and his team makes your first jump as easy as it can be given the circumstances. you can purchase picture and video packages to spare your friends of having to capture your moment (of PURE TERROR, i mean bravery) on camera, but your own pictures/videos will also do just fine. it's pretty hard to find a bungee jumping business in the bay area - you won't be disappointed by this team. read more

Life changing comes short in describing this experience. I came for freedom and I left with freedom. More than physical (its easy to succumb to gravity) this is a mental experience that changes your perspective of life and gives you the quantum leap above fear. To stand next to John (pioneer of commercial bungee/thrill seeker/a visionary for a better world) and Edwin (a cerebral guru) was a privilege all in itself. I walked away from them a better man. To see Edwin unlock somebody's mind to overcome their fear was a masterpiece. Three jumpers with tears in their eyes, were ready to back away from the experience and Edwin looked them straight in the eye and created a box of trust where the person's eyes lit up, let go and overcame their fear. They are a small team, informal but highly professional and passionate bunch of people. They love what they do. I did a bridge jump with them and would recommend it to anyone. They also have different other higher levels of adventure. Their package also includes beautiful pictures, videos and are very detailed on safety and security as well. If you are crazy like that and would like some high adrenalin experience at locations less traveled, give it a shot. Surely recommended. read more

This is a late review. Did my first jump last year. Saw this on yelp but was very hesitant since there wasn't too much information on it, but once I called in and made a reservation, John was great. He answered any questions and emails I had sent. He was very professional and made sure all calculations were correct so no one would be hurt during the jump.
