I'd never been here before (I know, I know..) so I stopped by today. You know when you walk into your good friend's house and it just feels comfortable and welcoming? It was like that. I was immediately greeted with smiles! The people behind the bar were so kind and also suggested I try the cinnamon roll after they noticed me peering into the pasty case (I obliged, eagerly). I ordered an iced, dirty chai with oat milk and ordered my husband a cappuccino. Honestly I think the quality/taste of coffee here far surpassed other leading coffee places in the area.. They were kind enough to let our dogs come in and sneak off to the patio which was very cute and quiet. (Not pictured to respect other patron's privacy). This may become our new Sunday spot for coffee/chill hangs :D can't wait to come back and try everything on the menu! read more

I don't think you can ever go wrong with a hole in the wall unless it's in your living room after your kids played baseball in the house...But I digress, this place is located inside of what appears to be a home so it's right off the road near some houses. I needed a quick coffee and breakfast so I decided to pop by. 1) it's easy to find, there's a big sign out front so you can't miss it. Parking can be hard but they have a gravel lot near the back. However, when I got there it was full so I just took to parking in the street. 2) they have tons of food options from pastries to sandwiches but I opted for the roasted red pepper and spinach quiche. I posted a low quality picture of it bc I got it to-go but I couldn't wait that long to eat it. It was warm, smelled amazing and holy moly was it good! An amazing crust, toasted on the top, melted cheese and full of flavor I was honestly surprised at how good it was. 3) I'm very picky when it come to coffee and always get pour overs and this was the first pour over I've had in a while that I actually wished I went back to buy their beans. I got the Ethiopia roast on a pour over and it had a deep bodied flavor with chocolate undertones. Only thing that would make it better is drinking it out of a mug on my porch in the midst of a cool crisp morning. Came here in between appointments. The drive here allowed me to check out a different side of Augusta which was pleasant. Plenty of street parking and a small lot if available. Situated inside an older home, atmosphere is welcoming. There's no rush to order and with a limited menu it's not too long of a wait if there are people in front of you. The baked pastries were the standout. Had a blueberry and goat cheese scone warmed up. It was fresh and enjoyable. The ginger and honey latte missed the mark. I couldn't taste the ginger or honey. Honestly this place is amazing. I just moved here and I work out of coffee shops so I've been to a bunch in the area but this one is by far in my top two along with rooted on Williams few. The ambiance is calming, the food is AMAZING. I just watched the bakery chef snip some rosemary off a bush and walk back inside the patio is wonderful. You know when you find a spot that you like but you don't want to tell everyone so the place won't get to crowded? This was one of the places for me but hey let's share the good vibes with everyone! I've moved here February of 2018 and with every new city/town I spend time in / live I always try to find that one coffee / tea spot. Tucked in a little old house blended into the neighborhood it's in gives it character and I like that. When it's cold/chilly outside I get a cortado. When it's summer time / hot outside I get their drink called a southern sunset (double, half sweet, no ice) they call it a wonder woman ! It's a very refreshing drink, espresso mixed with their made in house simple syrup and then shaken with ice like it was a mixologist making a cocktail. This is a cute little place hidden in a shopping plaza; I'm new to the area so I had difficulty finding it at first, but it seemed to be very popular, even on a Sunday morning. The interior is really cool; the art lining the walls is really funky, and there are tons of seating options- including an outdoor patio, which I'm sure is packed in the spring and summer. This didn't scream coffee shop to me though, especially not with the bar and TVs; but the vibe was still pretty relaxed, and people were working on laptops. The line to order moved very slowly, as there was only one woman taking orders. I could feel the gentleman behind us getting restless. Once we finally got up to the counter, I saw that they also have gelato, and also have a separate coffee menu (which we had to ask for). I was surprised to see that they brew La Colombe- which is popular back home in Philadelphia. I ordered a cafe latte (16oz.) and the salmon BLT on a plain bagel. Unfortunately however, I was served a toasted, overly-salted everything bagel; but since we waited a while for our food, I didn't say anything. It was also served with a scoop of potato salad, which I wasn't expecting - and I'd wished I'd been given the option of fruit instead. Overall I enjoyed myself, and besides the bagel mixup I did enjoy my food. My latte was also delicious, I even considered getting one to go. The staff - with the exception of the woman at the register - were very friendly and checked on us a few times. My absolute favorite coffee spot in Augusta. I hadn't been much over the last year due to covid. So I may have a bunch of full drink cards that they no longer use but, they do have a new system to earn points I saw! Their caramel latte is my favorite I've had from anywhere. I've tried many things though and they're all equally as amazing. Today I got the caramel latte, hot and with oatmilk. It was very good with the oatmilk substitution. We also got a ham and cheese roll to share. Ham and cheese roll ($3.75) was pretty good but, next time I think the quiche might be the way to go. They've paved the parking lot behind the building since the last time we were out here and it's so much better and easier to park than it was previously! They were quite busy today but, they have a lot of outdoor seating open and the seating inside is not very close together. They have a hand sanitizer stand inside and the plastic dividers to separate the employees and you while ordering. Employees had masks on and used gloves when appropriate. read more

Wow! What a coffee shop. I was traveling from Atlanta to Charleston to visit the USS Yorktown. We left about 5 am and I knew I would need some delicious coffee on the way to Charleston. Everything in Atlanta was not open yet. I would have definitely stopped at Brash had it been open when we passed through downtown. Alas, I was driving caffeine less for about 2.5 hours. I am too snobby for Starbucks and almost broke down for a McDonalds drip, but then I thought about what the inside of the coffee machine may look like there, then I thought about the farmers and how coffee may be processed from McDonalds and in a flash I was determined to hope for some excellent coffee in Augusta. You never know what you are going to find when searching through the reviews on Yelp. I found a coffee shop near the interstate called Inner Bean I think? It would take minimal time and I would be back on the road in no time. Well, I also found Buona Caffe Roasted Coffee and it looked like they roasted their own beans. The pictures looked like an authentic coffee shop. They just looked like they were having fun and were passionate about coffee with their house converted to a coffee shop. I also checked their Google reviews and they were off the chart. So I also found a place called Lil Dutch Bakery shop that to me looks like they specialize in Cinnamon Rolls. Let me tell you, Cinnamon rolls have a special place in my heart. My mom makes the best, therefore every cinnamon roll I eat gets measured against my mom's from scratch cinnamon rolls. I decided I needed coffee more despite the excellent cinnamon rolls and Inner Bean coffee located conveniently within 5 minutes of the interstate. So I hit "get directions" for Buona and was a little nervous when Siri brought me through a neighborhood and I didn't see any signs of a coffee shop. Well, Siri came through and we pulled up to a quaint little house of coffee. I walked in and immediately scanned the area for the menu. It was on the sidewall. I think I blacked out because before I knew it I had ordered a cinnamon roll from Lil Dutch bakery, an affogato, an Ethiopian light roast pour over, a ristretto, and sampled a blend of Ethiopian and another roast. WOW! I was in coffee heaven and stayed about 45 minutes! The cinnamon roll was excellent. They warmed it up for me and it was just about as good as my moms. Perfect amount of glaze, cinnamon and not too doughy. The ristretto was my starter given to me by Carsten who I presume is the owner of Buona. He was super nice and I could tell that he was passionate about what he did. He was always smiling and joking with us while we were hanging with them. The ristretto was strong but delicious. The affogato was excellent. It is one espresso shot served over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was so good, coffee desert breakfast! I finished the cinnamon roll off about the same time that my Ethiopian light roast pour over was ready. Amber said that is so good that I would not need cream with it. I was like, I don't know about this but took her word for it and I was delighted to find that she was RIGHT! I typically put cream in my coffee. This one did not need it, it was so smooth and yummy. Carsten and Amber were excellent at interacting with us and keeping the drinks rolling. Carsten made me and my son feel welcome from the start. Amber was very knowledgable about the coffee being sold there and was nice to talk to about coffee. There was a steady stream of locals coming and going. There were plenty of places to sit with outlets and wifi. There was even a wireless printer available in the seating area which I have not seen in any other coffee shop. My lasting impression of Buona Caffe is that I am in love. I wish that they were in Atlanta so I could visit more often. I will always make my best efforts to stop by on any trip through Augusta. It was so well worth the extra time added to our trip. They provided an experience that I will never forget. I purchased 12 oz of Ethiopian light roast to take home. I will be a sad boy when it runs out. Last unforgettable moment was that we got our water bottle refilled before leaving. Carsten pulled it straight from Australia! They have a pipeline to an Australian water reservoir! Amber said that most people think when you dig straight down you go to China, but it is actually Australia! lol. I love this place.
