I searched for a local cafe and found nothing else in the surrounding region. This one, while embedded in a suburban mall, had a welcoming atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating and a drive-through window. The menu was broad and local, housing seasonal specials. I sampled a strawberry matcha, which looked splendid but perhaps merited more mixing than I gave it, as I got a brief matcha hit and then a lot of strong strawberry flavor. My avocado toast came with sprouts, seeds, and quite a lot of avocado. The only things I really had against them were that it was on the pricey side and while I assume there was a wifi password, I couldn't immediately find it. But I must concede that given the skyrocketing price of avocados, I would have spent a lot of money making that toast at home, and for ambiance, service, and menu choices, the place delivered exactly what I wanted.

I came here for the first time after a friend recommended Rooted and I'm so glad I did! I visited ~8am on a weekday. It wasn't very busy when I arrived and the staff was super helpful with providing recommendations. I got the creme brulee latte and it was superb! I cannot wait to come back and try more of their amazing coffees and food! The space is perfect for reading a book, catching up with friends or studying. I would definitely recommend visiting Rooted Coffeehouse!

The service was phenomenal! Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable. The man making our iced coffees was very nice and ensured we loved our drinks! They make the syrups in-house which is a special touch. Got the maple pecan breve iced it was so delicious. Also got an in-house made maple chi scone - very tasty! They had lots of comfy seating and outdoor seating g as well. Was very pleased with the overall experience and the quality and taste of the food and drinks.

Since my first few visits here, I've always still come back to try new things. I love their specials and they are all consistently good. The service is always nice, polite and pretty fast. They've changed things up on the inside in the last year or two and it still looks great in there. I love all the plants they have around and they're also for sale. The baked goods section typically has something that looks tempting - cookies, scones or muffins. We got a pecan praline iced breve and a creme brûlée latte off the winter drink menu. These were both great and I even preferred my husbands pecan praline breve - it was so good! Can't wait to come back and try the new stuff for spring.

Visited Augusta and my friend recommended this place. It's super cute with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There's also a bunch of parking here so no worries about that. The mocha coffee was delicious and the branding of it all was so cute. The spicy chicken sandwich was delectable but not too spicy. Would recommend getting it though! The ingredients felt very fresh.

It's been a long while since we've been here. Our dog's vet is right around the corner and so we decided to swing by. We've been sticking to drive thru because of the amount of people who don't wear masks and stores not enforcing them. I went ahead with ole faithful, a hot vanilla bean breve. I was really disappointed. It doesn't taste the same as before, and my husband said the same thing. Have y'all changed the syrup recipe? Are you using a new half and half? Something tasted off. The second time we swung by after the vet, I went with a hot caramel latte, and that was much better. It's actually really pleasant and it might become my regular whenever we're in the area. Their drive thru is still wonky. You don't order at the menu board, but at the window. It makes for a very long wait. One time we came by and there was quite a long line but someone came out to take orders on a clipboard which was nice. The staff is really friendly, especially with Covid going on. From what I can tell, they're all wearing masks over their nose as well. They're still offering military discount and their rewards program.

Bathroom with diapers and menstrual products

This is a bright and cheerful coffee shop with a great selection of drinks, pastries, and food items. It seems to be a popular location with quite a crowd especially on a Sunday. I appreciated how clean the bathrooms were with an unexpected surprise of diapers and menstrual products available in the bathroom. There were outlets available to charge electronics along the side of the seating area. There is a variety of seating options from a bar at the front window, high table, bench, family-sized table, and cozy meeting space in the corner. I couldn't get the guest wifi to connect, but it was a great place to get some work done.

BEWARE. I came here after shopping and order some haute donuts and coffee. Unbeknownst to me, I was charge an 8 dollar tip that was not written in. This is stealing and is not okay. I was not aware of the tip charge and did not notice it until I checked my credit card bill. I was told the price but was in a rush that day and gave the young lady my card. Shame on this place for entering a tip that I never authorized.

This is my second visit here! For my first visit, don't really remember what drink I ordered, but my hubby had the cold foam iced americano and it was refreshing. I remember I took a mental note to order that next time. I also ordered the balsamic avo toast. Nothing too special, like any other avocado toast. I do wish they combined the classic with the balsamic - I like having the microgreens on my toast. My second visit I went with friends. I ordered the caprese breakfast sandwich which was amazing! I added the salami and it was soo good. The mozzarella was perfectly stretchy. My friend ordered the bluebs + cheese, a delightfully sweet toast! Not sure if I could've eaten the whole thing given the sweetness, but the few bites I had was delightful. I love trying signature drinks and specials, so I ordered the snickerdoodle iced americano on their fall special menu. This drink is perfect! Loved the foam and the syrup flavor. Sometimes, the flavoring can taste fake, but this one didn't. The PSL is next on my list of drinks to try! Overall, cute little coffee shop with ample space, great coffee, and great food!

I have officially been here to many times to count. Needless to say I'm hooked and addicted to coming to rooted. I have tried multiple different coffee, lattes, cold brew, and smoothie bowls. Everything I had is amazing I would 100% recommend the frozen coffee with pumpkins house made syrup better than anything I had! I will definitely be making weekly visits! The staff were so nice and friendly!

Sitting along busy Central Avenue, it's actually pretty easy to pass right by if you aren't looking for it. From the outside, it looks like what it is -- an old Augusta bungalow that found a second life as a neighborhood coffeehouse. Walk inside, though, and something happens. Everything slows down. The rooms are small. The furniture doesn't necessarily match. The chairs look like thousands of people have already found their favorite position in them. There's a porch, little tables tucked into different spaces, and none of it feels staged or designed to manufacture some trendy "coffeehouse aesthetic." In fact, I noticed something while sitting here: I don't see electrical outlets conveniently positioned at every table. I don't see a sea of laptops. Instead, I hear locals talking about doctor appointments, seeing the grandkids this weekend, and how ridiculously hot Augusta has been. People are simply here. I came in expecting to grab a coffee and leave. I have places to go and things to do today. But I sat down. Then I started looking around. Then I realized I didn't really want to leave. At some point they had probably been calling my drink for several minutes and I hadn't even noticed. And then I ordered a second coffee. That might be the best review I can give Buona Caffe. The coffee itself is absolutely on point. The staff knows what they're serving, makes thoughtful recommendations and genuinely seems to care about getting it right. But what makes this place special is everything surrounding the cup. It almost feels like they don't completely realize what they have here -- or maybe they do and simply have no desire to make it anything more than what it already is. As this part of Augusta continues to grow, with new homes and businesses coming into the area, I hope places like Buona Caffe remain exactly as they are. Sometimes you need a place between where you've been and wherever you have to go next. Somewhere neutral where you can sit down, let a little time pass, decompress and breathe before heading back out onto Central Avenue. Buona Caffe is that place.

Where we learned that the whole block was out of power, but they still had their donuts and all... I'm not proud, and my pancreas may never forgive me, but I regret nothing. I was thinking that a donut would be nice. And then I saw the maple bacon twist, so I ordered it. And then my Bride asked "is that an apple fritter?" and the nice young lady behind the counter said "yes, and we also have PEACH!" So we ordered one of those. And then she pointed out the pistachio donut, so I *had* to order that. And then my Bride saw the crème brûlée donut and that completed the order. We paid in cash- I got complimented on my old school coin purse- and repaired to the picnic table outside, where we split each of our treasures in half. And then we ate them all, like the feral little goblins we are. The pistachio donut was not particularly pistachio-y, but was a good frosted donut and had adorable autumn-themed sprinkles on it. The peach fritter was delicious- exactly what I imagined it would taste like. The maple bacon twist was a textbook example of the style, and could only have been improved by putting the maple and bacon toppings on an eclair instead of a cake. (Hint, hint.) The star of the meal was the crème brûlée donut. One of the young ladies piped it full of cream right before she packed it, so it didn't have time to get soggy. Epic donut filled with delicious cream- not some custard goo - and topped with a burnt sugar crust. I will never come back to Augusta without going back to Belair Donuts, and will honestly consider making any trip south from Virginia pass through here just to stop and get another one of those. And as we finished our feast, the lights came back on. Never underestimate the power of great donuts! Literally the best $11.88 (tax included) we've spent this month. (Military discount is available from this veteran-owned business.) We're looking forward to going back tomorrow to see how the kolaches and breakfast burritos are! And to see if they have any more crème brûlée donuts... Edited to add: Breakfast today was sausage, egg and cheese burritos in jalapeño wraps, and we split a cheese kolache and a crème brûlée donut with pumpkin cream cheese filling (small upcharge). Which is actually pumpkin and cream cheese, not just pumpkin spice flavored. 10/10, no notes. The kolache reminds me of my babcia's cooking, and the burritos were plump, hot, and delicious. $17.46 for the whole thing! Tomorrow morning we'll get the bacon egg and cheese, just to round out the collection. Final edit. Bacon egg and cheese burritos were delicious, but I honestly think I liked the overall flavour of the sausage one better. The cream cheese puff (we added the pumpkin cream cheese filling to this one, too!) was remarkable! It has cream cheese in the end opposite the filling hole, so if you're sharing like we did, cut it lengthwise. Which we did! (The little donut voice in my head ftw!) Looking forward to going home, so our next visit comes that much sooner!
