I asked about filtering out background and trigger sounds. Alyssa looked me straight in the face and told me hearing aids don't do that. They amplify sounds- all sounds, period. End of story and suggested maybe I was in the wrong place. "It doesn't sound like you want hearing aids". I was a newbie, scared and confused and she was condescending and hostile. I asked about a custom mold and she said she wouldn't do it. Basically she wanted me to just accept it out of the box. When I tried on a demo, the background sounds were overwhelming. She offered me no assurance they could be adjusted. In fact, she told me basically deal with it or don't get the hearing aids. Same thing when I heard my own voice booming in my ear with a time delay. Take it or leave it. Didn't offer me the option of uploading a music program to address that (which i found out online existed). I could not have had a worse experience. I am taking my money and going to an audiologist. For what it's worth, the front desk person, Jonathan was exceptionally kind and wonderful.

I understand that everything is transactional and there is a cost to everything but when the conversation is all about money even before addressing anything, then it's difficult to differentiate a doctor and a car salesman.
