Don't walk away- RUN. After waiting 2 weeks for the lead tech, I had done a bunch of research and settled on the hearing aids I wanted as a new user. I asked about filtering out background and trigger sounds. Alyssa looked me straight in the face and told me hearing aids don't do that. They amplify sounds- all sounds, period. End of story and suggested maybe I was in the wrong place. "It doesn't sound like you want hearing aids". I was a newbie, scared and confused and she was condescending and hostile. I asked about a custom mold and she said she wouldn't do it. Basically she wanted me to just accept it out of the box. When I tried on a demo, the background sounds were overwhelming. She offered me no assurance they could be adjusted. In fact, she told me basically deal with it or don't get the hearing aids. Same thing when I heard my own voice booming in my ear with a time delay. Take it or leave it. Didn't offer me the option of uploading a music program to address that (which i found out online existed). I could not have had a worse experience. I am taking my money and going to an audiologist. For what it's worth, the front desk person, Jonathan was exceptionally kind and wonderful. read more

Costco's BURBANK hearing aid center is exceptional. In 2018, when I knew I needed hearing aids, I had 3 different consultations with recommended audiologists before I went to COSTCO. The consultation at COSTCO was by far the most comprehensive and thoughtful. The audio technician Evan Lee helped me choose the most effective hearing aids and adjusted them when my hearing changed. COSTCO prices and as needed follow-up care are also excellent. The glue that holds the department together is Jacqueline Broussard. Ms. Broussard is at the front desk. She makes and coordinates the appointments, and (with an advance appointment) cleans and maintains hearing aids. She is a wonder juggling the demands of so many with efficiency and grace. Have always had very positive experience with Evan and Jacklyn on all past visits to Costco hearing center in Burbank. Today, 8/23/23 neither of the two people mentioned above were there. Covering the hearing center was two young ladies. The one on the left side was the most rude insensitive person I have ever experienced. Costco should get rid of this new team and get Evan back there and ALWAYS ensure Jacklyn is there providing the pleasant customer service. Employees like the ones Costco had working there today should be terminated. UPDATE- Came back the next day 8/24/23. The girl in right side cubicle helped me today. Her name is Alejandra Avelar. I had a hearing check at Costco in Burbank. The hearing specialist was Ms. Natalie Majidi. She was answering my general questions with question. She wasn't explaining anything and very rude. Either she was incompetent or super lazy. She didn't even do a complete hearing check when her instrument was scratching my head because she didn't even want to adjust it. She noticed my disappointment and was trying her best to not offer me any hearing aid. Very poor customer service and attitude. read more

After a week+ of a frustrating experience shopping for hearing aids, yes, including Costco I finally found what I was looking for. Her name is Kristin Greenfield, and she runs the Hearing Aid Department at the Van Nuys Costco. I won't bore you with the complicated details of my experience, pricing, compatibility with Android devices, size and selection, etc. When Kristin took me over at Costco, everything changed. She is extremely customer oriented, knowledgeable, cost conscious and wonderful to work with. She explained everything to me in precise detail and went out of her way to help me with my time constraint limitations in obtaining a fitting appointment due to my work. Did I mention that she was able to save me over $2300 on what I believe are better hearing aids than I was quoted from one of the largest independent hearing aid providers in the country? Stop shopping. Just go to the Van Nuys Costco and ask for her. You won't regret it. read more

We were on a trip from Atlanta to Burbank and my hearing aids were not working, but were clogged up. Jacqueline took us right in without hesitation, and helped us, replacing clogged parts, even though the hearing aids were purchased elsewhere. Avoid this place like the plague unless you're a masochist who likes to be mistreated by an incredibly rude receptionist. Her name is Jacqueline, or jackal. I find it remarkable that she has been able to hold on to this job so long. I see other people have complained about her too. She doesn't say hello, thank you, goodbye, or anything else. And if you dare criticize her, she gives you appointments weeks in the future, when I'm sure she could probably find a sooner time if it was her own mother. Some people just need to have jobs that don't involve working with the public, like painting billboards in the desert or something like that. We've given her several opportunities to be nice and she just can't seem to muster it so will be taking our business elsewhere from now on. read more

I purchased hearing aids from Costco in 2016. Yesterday (Labor Day) my daughter's young dog decided that one of my hearing aids make a great chew toy. I left a message for help yesterday when the store was closed and was called back the this morning promptly at opening time, the next business day! Jaqueline was amazing, asking me if I could come right down and she might be able to fix it, which she very graciously did! I have taken my mom to see him both to get her old hearing aids adjusted, as well as to be tested and order new aids when one of the old ones broke. She is abrupt and impatient with me when I don't clean my hearing aids properly. But she also cleans them up and gets them to work properly. I am grateful for her services as well. read more

Mr. Evan and Jacqueline are the kindest and nicest people. Both the wife and I have been blessed by them with hearing tests and very reasonably priced hearing aids. Out of the hundreds of people passing by their area in the store, these folks actually remember your name. If you drop off your hearing aids while shopping they cheerfully clean and service them at no charge and have them ready when you leave. Before we chose Costco for our last set of hearing aids we purchased some at twice the price with no follow up service. We now heartily recommend their services as the best in the area. Just recently, I was having difficulty hearing the TV and Mr. Evan boosted the level of volume for me. At first it was fine, but I soon discovered I was being annoyed with a lot of feed back. Two weeks went by before I was able to get back to Costco to ask for some corrective measures. (The wife and I caught covid from a family member) Mr. Evan took about two minutes to come up with a solution. From the type of feedback I was getting, he knew I was leaking sound around the small inserts that go into my ear canal. He replaced them with a size larger and amazingly my problem immediately went away. Thank you, Thank you. You are our hero hearing angels. read more

To put it in a few words: If you want to be treated disrespectfully then get in line. The aggressive behavior of the receptionist was enough but I didn't even make it through the hearing test. They told me the day of my appointment that they would like my doctors test for referral so I should just pop over to Dr. Lines office to get it ...because it was "close by´. Not really....and very unprofessional. Getting a hearing aid takes many steps including adjustments....There are many highly rated companies and this is not one of them. Time to move on. read more

10 minute wait in front of the center when Ms.J is helping another customer. The customer leaves, I am still standing there. She does not see me although she looks up and down, then makes a call to remind someone for the next day appointment.. Then decides to talk to me , rude, rude and rude. She starts with Where is the patient, she must be a paid Costco member to be helped. I just thank her and leave. So Costco allows my mom, and daughter who leave with me to get prescription glasses and everything else with my membership card when it comes to hearing aid they want my 79 year parent to be a member to be helped.
