13 weeks ago a new so'called security person was hired. In 13 weeks she has followed me into the…read moreladie's room 4 times along with following me around the station whilst I wait for my train. She does nothing. She is supposed to open bathroom doors & insure they are safe & fully stocked. She does not. She is to insure that passengers get on & off busses & trains safely. She's never around where there is heavy foot traffic. She walks numerous times to her car for food thus eating while she walks around on duty. She makes & receives personal calls while on duty. She plays with her hair. Additionally she allows anyone to smoke & vape at the station but me. Sadly, I witnessed a drug deal 2 weeks ago. Where was she then? It's no longer safe there in the mornings since Boaz & Guzman relocated to uptown Burbank. Lastly, she wears her own clothing leading people to ask me questions because she doesn't look like security. She needs to be replaced.

I highly recommend traveling by Amtrak it is so easy to get around. There is a small parking lot for this location and further down, they have paid parking lot as well. The layout is beautiful though not as wide in platform size as the South AV or many other Metrolink Stations in Southern California. Plenty of terminals close by if you need to purchase a boarding ticket, you can also purchase online on your phone or through their app or send a digital ticket to your phone. Note: I agree if not a local or frequent train rider you can get turned around as this station is off the beaten path and more North of the local airport. The South location is direct across from the Bob Hope Burbank Airport whereas this spot is a few blocks past it... So it would be a walk, but a short rideshare ride down. I'd imagine a local shuttle or bus might link near this station, but if you have luggage (plural) you might consider an Uber or Lyft.

Upon arrival to the parking lot, you pay for parking either online or kiosk there. Then, you can use your digital tap card on phone to pay or also get card at kiosk. The subway from union station to NoHo and back, comes by every 10 minutes, making this very accessible and quickly gets you to your destination. I was in Hollywood before 5pm and knocked out the traffic ahead. There are restrooms outside this station as well. There is also plenty of metro securities and police circulating around the station and checking fares. Best tip: always be aware of your surroundings and take with caution. Overall, I had a pleasant, inexpensive and quick ride to Hollywood in no time.

At 5am, the operating room bright lights are extreme before your eyeballs are awake. Also, the bench style seats along the side wall of the train forcing you to face-off with those on the other side. Feels uncomfortable making sure you're not staring someone down. Overall, the Metro does keeping trying to make their experience better, so that's commendable and appreciated.

I have also most recently used the metro to head into Hollywood and catch a show at the Pantages. The North Hollywood metro is at the end of the line and heads all the way to Union Station. There is a Throne bathroom that was recently installed so you can use the restroom. There is also a large parking lot so you can pay for cheap parking and then ride the metro to your desired destination. They also recently added those gate entrances to tap out to ensure that everyone had paid for the metro and didn't just jump the turnstiles. Overall a good station that I used frequently. Maybe not as frequently as Universal City since I live directly in between the two but a good one nonetheless.

Presumably hearing the complaints of the public asking for a safer transit experience so that more people in our city are likely to make use of public transport, Metro has decided to add in a frankly absurd number of "metro security" whose job it is to harass the general public. I was sitting on a bench downstairs in the station (having already tapped in and paid!) waiting for my friends to arrive so we could ride together. My friends were delayed due to traffic and I was approached by one of these "security" (and I do mean to use the term loosely) who told me that I was being kicked out of the station as I had been sitting there for 15 minutes without getting onto a train. I explained that I was waiting for my friends and that they would be arriving in the next 15 minutes but were delayed and this "security" employee outright told me he did not care and that I was kicked out. When I obviously came back 10 minutes later with said friends, I pointed him directly out to my friends and all of a sudden this "security" ducked his head and tried to hide. Seeing as how this is how they treat me, I can only imagine how awful they must be to others they view as beneath them. Truly an insane experience that I have never ever had before for all my years of riding.

While Jackson did not have availability for the next day, he found a different company to handle our shuttle needs. I was contacted an hour later by the driver to confirm our reservation, and provided a contact number for any customer service needs. The driver arrived 10 minutes early the next day (with free bottled water) and delivered us to LAX promptly. Would highly recommend this company to others and will use in the future.

If you know me, you know I despise driving - it makes me feel so lazy! As a runner it just doesn't ever make sense to drive a car less miles than I can jog but often it's just necessary. Unfortunately there aren't many opportunities for me to ride the metro in LA. I have however started taking it each time I go to theatre. It definitely feels far less utilized and common in LA than it does in other cities (domestic and abroad) but I'm totally satisfied with the quick trips I make around town when I do. I always keep a couple tap cards in my handbags so I'm ready when it's time. It's a bit cringe that I even have to drive my car to the metro stop but it is what it is. They've also been charging for parking for several years now, but you'll quickly learn in LA similar to NY this will still run you far less than valet or parking at certain places. I'd highly encourage choosing the metro over driving or ubering any day in most any city. $1.75 each way and no sitting in nauseating traffic is a win for me. I often ride solo or with a friend no issues either way.
