You have to be careful if you are visiting Park Rapids, as this breakfast place is 'cash only'. The ambience was wonderful with all kinds of nostalgic memorabilia regarding the Great Northern Railway and its history. The breakfast itself was not something to write home about, and our server was so busy that she forgot my sister's orange juice, leaning towards a "understaffed" situation that was apparent. In an effort to accommodate the request without causing further disruption, we backed up in the drive-thru and placed a separate order for the shake. When we reached the window again, we noticed one of the kids' meals was missing from our original order. The same employee insisted we had not ordered two kids' meals and again seemed unwilling to correct the issue. Only after some back and forth did she reluctantly add it, but not before making a rather unprofessional comment: "This is the last time we are going to add on to your order." To be clear, we were not asking for anything unreasonable--just the basic flexibility and courtesy that should accompany any customer service interaction. We left feeling as though we were treated as an inconvenience rather than paying guests. While I understand the demands of fast food service, professionalism, respect, and a willingness to help should not be optional--regardless of the position held. If this individual were representing my business, I would be deeply concerned about the impression being left with customers.
