For a quick burger stop in the Amsterdam, I was pleased. The burger was decent as well as the fries. We didn't have any issues with our waitress and the food filled up our tummies so we could keep walking, so all in all I thought it was a decent place to stop! All I can say is Yum Yum Yum. During my stay in Amsterdam, I ate at this location almost everynight. It gets quite busy so either come before or after the dinner rush. The food is delicious and fresh at a great price. The waiters are always nice and helpful - and service is quick. Make sure to ask for Ketchup or Mayo for your fries - it is by request. It is a little tight with the seating and gets a little warm near the back, so I recommend waiting for a table near the front of the restaurant. Enjoyed an almost American burger here. Europeans like to use something called "burger sauce" and I'm not really sure what it is but it's not something we use so that's what made it "almost" American. There is some huge burger movement going on in Europe now where burgers are booming and a lot of street vendors are making them but this place was the one we tried and we were pretty happy. I got an American burger of course which was cheese, meat, lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion and of course the burger sauce. the restaurant was cozy, full bar and plenty of tables to accommodate. Girlfriend and I were seated rather quickly but then no waiter/waitress came to us for at least 15 minutes, at which point they didn't have English drink menus or milkshakes. Additionally, we were never served beverages, and the waitress didn't seem interested in taking our orders. She was completely rushed. There are two sides to exploring this establishment. Visually it is an interesting, new hip burger-serving place. The 'pour-your-own-beer' stations are a fun and innovative aspect of this restaurant. I also liked the wall decorations inspired by architecture/design blue-prints. However, the service and food are a different story. Apperntly, if you complain about the bruscheta being served cold and the burgers being poorly spiced some members of the staff will talk smack about you in Dutch, being not further then 5m from you. And what a sad way to treat wagyu beef, the burgers served with it were just so bad :( The experience deserves a 1 star, the 2nd star is for one honest working waiter who was nice to us and was embarrassed by his colleagues poor behaviour. read more

As we wondered the streets of Amsterdam we noticed a lot of interesting baked hot dogs in the store windows. They looked like slices of pizza waiting to be consumed. Of course my picky husband didn't want to try a soggy hot dog that has been sitting out for 5 hours. He needed a freshly prepared hot dog. So, Burgerfabriek was recommended. We were on a hunt for a unique hot dog and this place delivered. We ordered the down town dog. The combination of mango chutney, colander, and mint pesto worked. I was skeptical but when I took my first bite I was in heaven. Even though we only came for a hot dog we couldn't pass up the chance to try a burger. We had the foie gras burger. The burger was very juicy and greasy but we chalked it up to the the wagyu beef in the burger. The foie gras melted in my mouth. We have had many versions of this burger in the States but this one was one of our top three favs. I can see why someone would come here especially after a late night of indulging. read more

Rude staff and a gross leaking ceiling were just the start. I asked for a burger to be made as a vegetarian option, I was told no. We asked for tap water to drink. We were told it was illegal to serve in a restaurant. My "veggie burger" arrives and it's just a mushroom. The salad had some blue plastic in it, hoping it was just wrapper from the lettuce.
