Was in the mood for a burger and decided to give this place a try. The place was nice and clean but limited seating. I decided to try almost everything. I got the big Haus burger, the crispy chicken sandwich and the cheesesteak with a side of sweet potato fries and a vanilla milkshake. The burger was small but very juices. Needed more sauce but that's just my preference. The crispy chicken sandwich was my least favorite. Needed for flavor. The cheese steak was my favorite !!! The beef was so juicy with the cheese. I forgot to ask for ketchup but even without it was very very good. The sweet potato fries were okay just needed some salt. The milkshake was also my favorite defiantly not an average vanilla milkshake. Will deff go back for the cheese steak !! read more

Cool spot! You can watch your food being made behind the counter. 2 guys working when we went seemed nice and friendly. First off they have fresh battered and fried chicken for the sammys which is awesome. I don't love the rolls they come on though. They are a bit too thick and sweet for me. We preferred the plain chicken over the Buffalo chicken option. The cheeseburger: was very good. They aren't very big but they also aren't very much money. The roll they come with is much better than the chicken ones. Cheese fries: came with a home made cheese sauce not some gross bucket of cheez wiz. They also put the cheese the side which was nice so it didn't saturate the fries. The fries themselves were real hand cuts fries which I'm not really a fan of unless done perfect. By the time we got them home they weren't crispy and there wasn't enough cheese sauce. I would ask for a second one if you order. Although they did put another cup of house sauce which was very good for dipping. Overall Would recommend mostly for the burger. Still on a mission to find the best fried chicken Sammy in Jersey. read more

This place has the best veggie burger around,and everything else is delicious too. Quality ingredients, really well made food. But what impressed me most on my last visit for takeout was how safe they are during the pandemic. Social distancing is maintained by employees and other customers. All the employees are wearing masks. They have a bottle of hand sanitizer on the counter for customers. I felt safe picking up my lunch. Bonus points for their recyclable packaging! It's the little things like this that make you feel like this is a small business with a lot of heart. I hope they stick around for a long time. read more

One of the worst cheesesteaks I've ever had. I'm pretty sure they use frozen cheese steak meats from shop rite which costs .50 cents per layer of meat. Meat was dry, very little cheese, and unbelievably excess oil kept dripping. Descent fries, but the cheese was just bad. Cheese sauce looked really bad, and it tasted like they they put grated coconut in it. Will not a place I will get for my cheese steak for sure. read more

Excellent burgers, both beef & vegetarian. I was one day into Meatless May, so I was thrilled with their veggie burger and great fries! My husband got big haus burger and the onion rings which he said were the best onion rings he's ever had. The restaurant was clean, and we enjoyed being able to watch our meals being cooked. My boyfriend and I were craving burgers and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. It was a quick drive from where he lives so we decided to give it a try. We ordered the double Hausburger, BigHaus Burger, fries and onion rings. I really liked the burgers that we ordered. My favorite was the Big Haus Burger because it came with bacon. Been venturing out of JC lately to find more delicious food and my SO found this place and have been nagging me about it so naturally we ended up here. Twice though we showed up and they were closed so a bit inconsistent with their posted hours. The last time, we called and confirmed first. The chicken sandwich was actually phenomenal, so juicy, tender and crispy with the herb aioli? Fantastic. The Hausbites on the other hand, were just ok. Nothing to honestly write home about. Been here 5 time with wife and kids and has yet to disappoint. Burgers and chicken sandwiches and the cheesteaks are all top notch and priced the right way to make you even happier. The guys here are all great and know what they're doing and how to man a grill. This is the local smash burger or shake shack people.. come and try it and tell me it's not as good or better. I have been to this establishment a few times, and each time, we received miscooked food. Previously, it has been over or undercooked burgers, but not detrimental to our health, just not preferable in taste/texture. This time, we received undercooked chicken. The inside of the chicken was still pink, accompanied by cold, hard fries. Guess they matched, at least. The waiter was hesitant to replace the fries. He did eventually bring a new chicken sandwich (after a long while). He didn't bring new fries. We hadn't touched the original fries, aside from the 2 that we tried in order to find out they were cold. After some persuasion, we did get fries that were hot. This whole thing took far too long. I burned off the calories from the meal in efforts to get what we paid for. The salad was decent. read more

Popped in late one afternoon with my wife. Counter service was quick, we both ordered the crispy chicken (add pickles). Two guys were working, one taking orders and cleaning up, the other cooking. I always like being able to see how the food is prepped. Everything was clean - but not too clean (you know what I mean!) - and organized, the sandwich was prepared perfectly. The size of the chicken they served was astronomical. The potato roll was lightly grilled, the lettuce was crisp. The spicy aioli was on point! Nothing to argue with here. I wish i would of found this place a lot sooner. Burgerstrasse opened up about 8 months ago and it's located next to another one of my Clifton favorites. I came for lunch to try one of their burgers, the first thing that stood out for me was the price. Holy moly, $6 for a fresh burger??? That's great. You get a lot of free toppings to choose from but the premium ones like eggs, bacon, avocado are $1 extra. That's still super good. I got their Hausburger and added jalapeños, bacon, avocado, and an egg. I also got fries to go with my meal. Overall the burger was delicious, juicy, flavorful and perfectly cooked. The fries also tasted fresh. This place is just a better version of a five guys. I will definitely become the duke of this establishment in the next couple months, count on that. Lol read more

Found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try based on reviews and location since I was in the area. Immediately after waking in, I picked on the cool hipster urban vibe going on. Nice welcoming feel for this Queens, NY native gal. Burgers were spot on! We had the Big Haus Burger, Haus Burger and Hausbites. All were absolutely amazing! Very fresh, juicy and flavorful. I went to this burger joint last Sunday after an extremely long and arduous day. I arrived 5 minutes before the grill was about to be shut down for the day, and was I ever rewarded for getting there in the nick of time. My burger was medium rare, juicy and just what the doctor ordered. The panko crusted onion rings were crunchy on the outside and downright delicious, and were an absolute bargain at $3. Stopped in here tonight--a Friday night. Wow--everything we had was very very good. The burger reminded me of a more homemade Shake Shack. The sliders are a fresher version of White Castles. The fries and onion rings were also excellent. We barely waited for our food and since we were eating in, they brought it over to our table when it was ready. The prices were also very reasonable. The seating area is small, but we had no problem finding a seat--it's also kept very clean. We found a parking spot right in front--no problems there. I found it on a list of black owned restaurants in NJ and words cannot describe how good their burgers are and then you look to their prices and they're just as amazing too!!! This place is 20 minutes away from me and it's still worth every single mile I drive to it. BurgerHaus is a very small, family operation. And I must say, the burgers were excellent -- juicy and fresh with wonderful soft buns. The onion rings were outstanding but the first order of french fries were waaay underdone. They cheerfully took them back and gave us another order, this time half burnt.
