Checked out Barrow House after a farmers market visit and it was packed for a Sunday right at noon. Every room has a different vibe which makes the space feel really cozy and interesting instead of just one big dining room. We didn't have a reservation, but they were still able to seat us in the dining room as long as we could wrap up before 1:30, which we appreciated. I wasn't super hungry so we shared the crispy cauliflower and lamb ribs from the appetizer menu. The crispy cauliflower was excellent -- hot, actually crispy, and not drowning in sauce which I really appreciated. The lamb ribs came over labneh (a yogurt base) and the first plate arrived with the lamb cold. I asked our waitress if that was intentional and she said only the labneh should be cold. They immediately replaced it with a fresh order and handled it really well, which I appreciated. Great service recovery and overall a really enjoyable brunch spot with a lively atmosphere. read more

Overall I cool spot, with a very western feel, and a menu that is more just American bar food and Italian ? Service is great, and they have a huge selection of spirits with a decent tap list as well. The food was average, we started with some apps, fried cauliflower (it had no flavor but the texture was nice) , maple deviled eggs which were amazing and brussels which also delicious. Awesome place, came here for lunch on a Wednesday. This farmhouse restaurant is huge, it has different rooms, and the decor was cool. We tried some of their new spring menu. For cocktails, I had the barrow sangria, it was a little too strong for me. My friend had the neon dreams and she thought it was too sweet. For appetizers, we had the warm crab cakes, shrimp spring roll, and the wedge salad. My friend thought this was the best crab cakes she had. I really enjoyed the shrimp spring rolls and the wedge salad. I had the crispy skin salmon and my friend had the pesto chicken sandwich. We shared everything and both dishes were very good. For dessert, we had the ube panna cotta and chocolate lava cake. The ube panna cotta was so mouthwatering, love the presentation and is a must have. I came here for my birthday dinner with a group of friends on a Friday night. I placed a reservation around a month before just to make sure we'd be good, since we were a big group. They have a nice lounge to sit on while you wait for the rest of your party to come since I can't see you until everyone is present. The place is very nice, but the service wasn't great and the food was also not as good as expected for the price range. Our server came to check in on us around eight minutes after we sat down and he placed water on the table. Once we were able to order our drinks, it took around 15 minutes to even get any of them which was a long time to wait considering there was nothing but water on the table and no bread or anything on the house as most restaurants do. After another 20 minutes, he finally came back to ask what we wanted for food - the food also took probably another 25 minutes to get to the table so by the time he got to us, we were not really looking forward to it. I got the mushroom ravioli with balsamic glaze. I think there were around five or maybe six raviolis on my plate which was not a lot and they genuinely were not good. The ravioli itself was very doughy and I couldn't at all taste the mushroom inside of it. I ordered the lavender drink with vodka on it and that was good, not as great since the full glass was basically ice. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be coming back here for another dinner. read more

This place is rustic charm. Converted 1700 farm house I think. Super quaint and cozy around the holiday time, I love the trees and decorations they put up. We had a reservation on a Sunday for brunch and we were more than 15 min late. They were very nice about it and sat us anyway. It wasn't too crowded but it did seem like they had a private party upstairs. No one ever came over to us for 20 min and I had to flag someone down. They took our order and then switched the server mid way. Our drinks didn't come out for 15 min. Very slow service. At least they didn't rush us, I do prefer sitting and catching up with friends. But would have liked a bit more attentiveness. I also noticed a good runner constantly bringing food to the wrong table and asking tables if it was their food, which is not very professional so they seemed pretty unorganized. I got the egg nog drink and it was in a cute Santa mug and tasted like I was drinking the holidays. Sweet and creamy, but there were three huge ice cubes that took up too much of the mug. The cornbread is very dry. I needed to put a lot of butter on it. My friends and my husband liked their food. I really liked my chicken and waffles. The fried egg was a nice touch. Just enough food. And it came out piping hot. Juicy white meat chicken fried perfectly, and the waffle was fluffy and not too sweet. Good tasting maple syrup as well. My husband's burrata was delicious, so were the autum deviled eggs. The eggs were a little too sweet but very creamy and good consistency. A little on the pricier side at $50ish a person for a drink, entree and shared app for brunch. I would come here again though, nice place to catch up with friends. We had a very nice time! My wife and I went here for a dinner date, and honestly were not really blown away. The exterior and interior design of the place is really nice. Once inside the service and vibes were also great. Everything about it was really great except for the food unfortunately. Everything we ordered was just okay, and not worth the higher price in my opinion. The Wagyu cheesesteak was extremely disappointing. We would consider coming back again to sit in the bar area and take advantage of the happy hour specials, but would just stick to appetizers and not order entrees again as both entrees we ordered were just okay. Then we didn't see her until she brought them over and took our entree order. Food was brought out but a runner and we didn't see our waitress again until she came to see if we wanted dessert. This place has a such beautiful rustic charm that is elegant and inviting to everyone. I had the most interesting and delicious Burrata salad. It was light, refreshing, and exceptionally peculiar. I loved the roasted squash rings; the pomegranate and sunflower seeds added a delightful crunch I never knew I was missing in a burrata salad. And of course the vinaigrette dressing brought it all together in a cohesive dish. The cheesesteak sandwich was decent. I did add bacon to mine so I may have thrown it off a bit. But I enjoyed it for the most part. But the best part of my dining experience was the staff. From the host, to the bar tender to the waiter to anyone that was on duty; EVERYONE was amazing!! I felt so welcomed like I was a regular. Our waiter was super understanding and accommodating of my crying baby lol. For starters, we shared a giant pretzel with grain honey mustard and cheese sauce. For our main, we opted for the fried chicken and crispy cod fish sandwiches. The corn bread was VERY good. However, I was disappointed with the Mac n cheese. It was bland and much smaller than the portion the restaurant served a few years ago. For my entre I ordered the short rib which was good. They added a lot of the sauce over the mashed potatoes which I wish they would not have added as much because it made the dish a bit heavy but it was good nonetheless. For dessert we had the churros which comes with four pieces so it was perfect for our group of four. I'll keep going to the Barrow House as every time I have gone I have had a good experience. Met up with friends at The Barrow House after hearing good things about Skopos Hospitality Group, and the farmhouse-style decor did not disappoint--really charming atmosphere. The staff was super attentive, but I was a bit let down that we couldn't be seated at a proper table, even though a couple appeared to stay empty the whole time (maybe held for reservations?). We ended up at bar tables with no chair backs--not the comfiest, but the food and drinks totally made up for it. The halibut and salmon were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor, and the sweet potato soup was creamy and delicious. My friend ordered the brisket and had positive feelings. They had the doors open the last time I visited. Was worried about that but it was still cool inside. First time I had the fried chicken sandwich with hot honey which was very good. Second time I had the strip steak sandwich which was great. The French fries here are outstanding. Also tried the pretzel appetizer which was good. The service was polite and the place was very busy. Ambiance/decor: very nice, spacious place. We were a party of two, the table was a bit small. They do have bigger tables but I guess they are for 3+ guests. It was just a bit cramped and it felt like a dish would fall at any moment. They do keep a glass jar of water on the table which is nice so you don't to keep asking for refills. Food: Bacon Mac and cheese wasn't that great. It definitely needed more cheese and the pasta was very al dente, it needed to be cooked a little longer so it could've been softer. I didn't like the flavoring of the wings, I also didn't like that the blue cheese tasted a little weird, kind of like lemon. Fried chicken sandwich was okay. Fries, eh. Tres leche was good but dry. Overall, nothing to write home about, but a very nice atmosphere to go for an afternoon date or a group gathering. We have been to Barrow House many times over the years and some visits have been better than others. Well let me tell you, this visit was a 10/10! We went for a late lunch/early dinner and sat in the bar area. It was happy hour so we took advantage of some HH deals. We started with the spring sangria and a rum cocktail that were both deliciously refreshing. The drinks were delish and came out quickly. For starters, we had the fried cauliflower and smoked deviled eggs. The cauliflower were cut into meaty chunks that had a nice crispy batter. The deviled eggs were not your usual deviled eggs, but good nonetheless. I went with the chicken Milanese for my entire and my fiancé had the pappardelle primavera and added chicken. The chicken Milanese was perfectly fried and the arugula was dressed in a tasty vinaigrette. The pappardelle was the perfect summer pasta dish in a delicious cream sauce with juicy charred corn. I had been interested in trying The Barrow House for a while now, so I suggested it as a brunch destination for my friend and I. I knew that the restaurant was supposed to be on the bigger side, but, wow, was it spacious! There were several rooms within the building and even a few charming nooks for larger groups. There was also a massive, private parking lot to accommodate all of the patrons. Despite the space, I should note that the dining room got very loud with all of the large parties dining around us. Despite that, the staff was sweet, and the food was enjoyable. The cabin decor was welcoming, as well. My friend wanted to start her meal with a caffeine pick-me-up and ordered a tea. Following her lead, I got a coffee, which I thought was decent. It was not nearly as bold and chocolatey as I would have liked, but I am particular about my brews. As the experience went on, my companion then decided to treat herself to a sassier beverage and ordered a bellini. Again, I went along and ordered the Want Me Back cocktail, which was as "bittersweet" as the menu described. In fact, I loved how the menu organized the beverages and how they labeled them with detailed descriptions, including the note that my selection had a low alcohol content, which was really what I wanted at that time of the day. The drink included Cynar, St. Germain, prosecco, and lemon bitters, so, as I mentioned, it tasted just as described. My first sip seemed a bit too herbaceous and medicinal, but by my second gulp, I was really into it! From a food perspective, we started by sharing an order of the Lemon Pesto Deviled Eggs. The 4 egg halves had been stuffed with a lemon pesto yolk puree and a small bite of crispy prosciutto. They were served over an earthy, bright pesto. We thought they were excellent and a creative rendition of a classic bite. We then wound up getting the same entree, the Roasted Butternut Toast, because we thought it sounded very unusual. We had pictured the toast to be topped with a mashed squash, similar to an avocado toast. However, the crunchy white bread was slathered with an herb ricotta and topped with slices of roasted butternut squash. I think we both would have preferred if the butternut had been smashed rather than sliced. I also found the bread rather generic. On top of the squash was supposed to be a fried egg, but we both thought it was underdone and more like an over-easy egg. We sent them back for added heat, and they returned with slightly more of a cook, though I still did not think they seemed fried. There were also chopped hazelnuts and a balsamic drizzle sprinkled over the 2 large slices of toast. Though it was not exactly how I pictured, I still really enjoyed my main dish. Despite the egg snafu, we both really enjoyed the restaurant's casual, rustic vibe, friendly service, and creative menu items. It was definitely a great brunch choice. read more

4.5 Came here for Valentines Day and everything was so so good! My partner and I started with the Mac & cheese. It was such a good mix of cheeses & flavor. It had a subtle hint of smokiness and the portion of it too was great! Then I got the Short Rib & my partner got the Lamb Shank special. The short rib I got was so so good, cooked very well. The lamb shank was HUGE and so so worth it. Beyond tender and the definition of food that melts in your mouth. Service was also so so great. And the cocktails we ordered too! I was so surprised their have their own in house aged barrel liquor. Only thing I wish we did was peek around the space a bit to see more of the ambiance but other than that, such a great dinner and night at the barrow house! Went there on new year's eve.The menu was very small not much to eat period they said they were having a new year's eve menu and their regular menu, but it was mostly a new year's eve menu. With very little choices, so I basically ate nothing. Ask them if they would make a burger for me. And they said, no.So needless to say, I will never be going back there again. read more
