    Crispy Skin Salmon

Awesome place, came here for lunch on a Wednesday. This farmhouse restaurant is huge, it has different rooms, and the decor was cool. We tried some of their new spring menu. For cocktails, I had the barrow sangria, it was a little too strong for me. My friend had the neon dreams and she thought it was too sweet. For appetizers, we had the warm crab cakes, shrimp spring roll, and the wedge salad. My friend thought this was the best crab cakes she had. I really enjoyed the shrimp spring rolls and the wedge salad. I had the crispy skin salmon and my friend had the pesto chicken sandwich. We shared everything and both dishes were very good. For dessert, we had the ube panna cotta and chocolate lava cake. The ube panna cotta was so mouthwatering, love the presentation and is a must have. Service was solid, would definitely come back for brunch and dinner.

I came here for my birthday dinner with a group of friends on a Friday night. I placed a reservation around a month before just to make sure we'd be good, since we were a big group. They have a nice lounge to sit on while you wait for the rest of your party to come since I can't see you until everyone is present. The place is very nice, but the service wasn't great and the food was also not as good as expected for the price range. Our server came to check in on us around eight minutes after we sat down and he placed water on the table. Once we were able to order our drinks, it took around 15 minutes to even get any of them which was a long time to wait considering there was nothing but water on the table and no bread or anything on the house as most restaurants do. After another 20 minutes, he finally came back to ask what we wanted for food - the food also took probably another 25 minutes to get to the table so by the time he got to us, we were not really looking forward to it. I got the mushroom ravioli with balsamic glaze. I think there were around five or maybe six raviolis on my plate which was not a lot and they genuinely were not good. The ravioli itself was very doughy and I couldn't at all taste the mushroom inside of it. I ordered the lavender drink with vodka on it and that was good, not as great since the full glass was basically ice. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be coming back here for another dinner.

This place is rustic charm. Converted 1700 farm house I think. Super quaint and cozy around the holiday time, I love the trees and decorations they put up. We had a reservation on a Sunday for brunch and we were more than 15 min late. They were very nice about it and sat us anyway. It wasn't too crowded but it did seem like they had a private party upstairs. No one ever came over to us for 20 min and I had to flag someone down. They took our order and then switched the server mid way. Our drinks didn't come out for 15 min. Very slow service. At least they didn't rush us, I do prefer sitting and catching up with friends. But would have liked a bit more attentiveness. I also noticed a good runner constantly bringing food to the wrong table and asking tables if it was their food, which is not very professional so they seemed pretty unorganized. I got the egg nog drink and it was in a cute Santa mug and tasted like I was drinking the holidays. Sweet and creamy, but there were three huge ice cubes that took up too much of the mug. The cornbread is very dry. I needed to put a lot of butter on it. My friends and my husband liked their food. I really liked my chicken and waffles. The fried egg was a nice touch. Just enough food. And it came out piping hot. Juicy white meat chicken fried perfectly, and the waffle was fluffy and not too sweet. Good tasting maple syrup as well. My husband's burrata was delicious, so were the autum deviled eggs. The eggs were a little too sweet but very creamy and good consistency. A little on the pricier side at $50ish a person for a drink, entree and shared app for brunch. I would come here again though, nice place to catch up with friends. We had a very nice time! And I like the little lounge sitting area on the side, again just very quaint and homey.

Such a cool spot! Many different rooms with dim lighting and very cool vibes. Decorations and paintings on the wall. Lots of drinks and apps to choose from. Tried some spring specials and loved the crab cakes and tuna tartare.

My friends and I went for brunch. It's been a few years since my last visit, but still great! We decided right away to order a few dishes to share. Food: * Cornbread: Good flavor, though a little dense for my liking. The butter is the star here. * Crispy Cauliflower: We devoured this dish! The chipotle aioli should be served with everything. Order this! * Autumn Spinach Salad: Fresh, flavorful, and light. * Chicken & Waffles: The fried egg takes this traditional dish up a notch. * Short Rib Hash: We didn't love this one. The short rib had a slightly bitter, odd taste and thr potatoes were underdone. Cocktails: * Sharpshooter : Not only is it beautiful, it's also a well-balanced fall cocktail. * Last Night's Mascara: Their take on an espresso martini, it packs a punch! Dessert: * Cinnamon Bread Pudding: Served warm with a side of gelato. Do not skip this! The pumpkin-spiced whipped cream gives it a cozy fall vibe. Each dining area is designed to feel like a different part of a house. We were seated in what felt like the game room, a warm and inviting space. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, giving us enough time to enjoy our food while checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. They also let us walk to each space to see how each dining space is set up.

My wife and I went here for a dinner date, and honestly were not really blown away. The exterior and interior design of the place is really nice. Once inside the service and vibes were also great. Everything about it was really great except for the food unfortunately. Everything we ordered was just okay, and not worth the higher price in my opinion. The Wagyu cheesesteak was extremely disappointing. We would consider coming back again to sit in the bar area and take advantage of the happy hour specials, but would just stick to appetizers and not order entrees again as both entrees we ordered were just okay. For the higher price tag, I hoped for much better food. With all that being said, the vibes and aesthetic are great, so I can see why people love to come here.

We came on a Friday night with a party of 6. There was a big problem with our reservation. It was some how cancelled which I never did! I actually received a texted and confirmed the reservation. So that set us off right away!! To compensate they offered complimentary drinks at the bar and somehow managed to put a table together for us. Our waitress Marris was very friendly and gave us good service. We all pretty much enjoyed our meals but I do have to say it is VERY LOUD in there! It was nicely decorated for Xmas and had a rustic feel.

This restaurant is very beautiful with several different areas to eat. By the fireplace, private areas, big rooms etc. the service is good and the menu is robust. Many people love this restaurant but I will say I was disappointed by the food. I found my risotto to be too salty. And the short ribs was not as tender as I've had. I did love the potato soup though!

Amazing happy hour with week day specials!! Highly recommend the cauliflower bites they were AMAZING. Service was friendly and fast. Definitely recommend trying their happy hour specials! They also have a parking lot so parking was definitely easy!

    Burrata salad

This place has a such beautiful rustic charm that is elegant and inviting to everyone. I had the most interesting and delicious Burrata salad. It was light, refreshing, and exceptionally peculiar. I loved the roasted squash rings; the pomegranate and sunflower seeds added a delightful crunch I never knew I was missing in a burrata salad. And of course the vinaigrette dressing brought it all together in a cohesive dish. The cheesesteak sandwich was decent. I did add bacon to mine so I may have thrown it off a bit. But I enjoyed it for the most part. But the best part of my dining experience was the staff. From the host, to the bar tender to the waiter to anyone that was on duty; EVERYONE was amazing!! I felt so welcomed like I was a regular. Our waiter was super understanding and accommodating of my crying baby lol. Everyone was so helpful and didn't say "I'll get your waiter" whenever we made a request. You can feel that everyone supports each other and knows that they are part of a team. I would definitely come back just to feel that warm welcoming feeling again.

Tonight's special and trying this out for the 1st time.

With a barn-wood façade and porch that bring Cracker Barrel to mind, this establishment welcomes their patrons with a choice of rooms: a frontier-style bar up front; a fancy Victorian parlor; a barn room with a modern atrium roof; a more formal room antlered like a hunt club.   Located off of Van Houten Ave in Clifton, the Barrow House is large (8,000 square feet), with tables comfortably spaced for about 214 seats. The reservation was easily made 2 hours ago via Resy for dinner, and my partner and I are glad we did, as the place was crowded.   Greeted by the host upon arrival after our last visit 2 years ago, the interior vibe creates an instant sense of relaxation and comfort with the Christmas decorations making one feel right at home, and our table was ready in the hunting room with trophies: stuffed turkey, wild boars, pheasants, and deer.   Their menu consists of the standard American fare. For starters, we shared a giant pretzel with grain honey mustard and cheese sauce. For our main, we opted for the fried chicken and crispy cod fish sandwiches. Both accompanied by crispy fries.   Our food was so good, well-balanced with the right levels of flavor and delicious.   The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about ensuring a wonderful dining experience, especially our server, Enrique. While the prices are slightly higher than average, it was well worth it, which we can continue to recommend.

I like the Barrow House. The atmosphere is nice and the bar is large with lots of seating. Server was very friendly and attentive. We had corn bread and Mac n cheese as appetizers. The corn bread was VERY good. However, I was disappointed with the Mac n cheese. It was bland and much smaller than the portion the restaurant served a few years ago. For my entre I ordered the short rib which was good. They added a lot of the sauce over the mashed potatoes which I wish they would not have added as much because it made the dish a bit heavy but it was good nonetheless. For dessert we had the churros which comes with four pieces so it was perfect for our group of four. I'll keep going to the Barrow House as every time I have gone I have had a good experience. Also, there is a Photo Booth in the back you can have fun with and send photos to yourself. Great addition!

These are a couple of the wings I explored: Peanut Butter & Jelly Wings: These wings were smothered in creamy peanut butter with a heaping mound of jelly. At first I was reluctant to explore this unusual combination, but as soon as I gave it a try, it was love at first bite. Feel free to smear or dip; the choice is yours. S'mores Wings: This is another unique, but unbelievably savory combination. These dessert style wings were smothered in marshmallow cream, drizzled with chocolate syrup, and sprinkled with crushed pieces of graham crackers. It was a sight for sore eyes. If you need additional chocolate sauce don't be afraid to ask for "s'more." And make sure you request "s'more" napkins because you will certainly need them! In addition to the wings, I also explored one of the main courses. Blue 42 Burger: Named after the restaurant, this burger is topped with mozzarella sticks, blue cheese crumble and bacon. A quick heads-up: on Google Maps it's listed as Ceviche 517, but the sign on the building says Tavern 517, which initially threw us off. We were circling around until we decided to just trust the physical address--and we're so glad we did. As soon as we walked in, the name didn't even matter anymore. The decor is stunning--definitely has an upscale, Instagram-worthy vibe with a modern lounge feel. We might've come a little early because the place was quiet when we arrived, but that worked in our favor as we got to settle in comfortably and explore the menu. Drinks were a mixed experience. We tried the margarita flight, which included coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry. The coconut and passion fruit margaritas were absolutely delicious--fresh, balanced, and memorable. The strawberry, however, was a big miss--tasted like kid's medicine and no one at the table could finish it. We also ordered a drink called something like Chicola--it had ginger ale, lime juice, and some type of liquor, and unfortunately, it was another one we couldn't get through. The flavors just didn't mix well, and everyone at the table agreed it was a no for us. On the flip side, the Perfect Mule with a strawberry twist, the Henny Mojito, and a bold and fun drink called No Sheets were much better received. Menus are displayed on sleek tablets, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the in-house menu offered way more options than what's listed online. And the food? Absolutely excellent. The Tallarín Saltado with vegetables was beyond delicious--we placed it in the center so everyone could dig in. The ceviche flight was fresh and flavorful, and the jalea (a fried seafood platter) didn't last long on the table either. One friend had the larger ceviche bowl paired with a mojito and already asked to come back just for that combo. Even the kid's arroz chaufa with chicken impressed us, with a big enough portion for leftovers. If there's one thing that fell flat, it was the atmosphere--at least early in the evening. When we arrived, the music playing sounded like retro video game tunes, but thankfully it transitioned into upbeat Spanish hits, including some great bachata that gave the space some energy. All in all, despite a few drink misses and a quiet start, this spot is a gem. The food alone is worth the trip, and we're definitely planning to return--next time a little later in the evening to hopefully catch a livelier vibe!

For food we shared calamari, tavern fries, and quesadillas. The calamari and quesadillas were winners! So good. Attentive service and nice decor inside for pics! Tip: ask the waiting staff to take your pic, they bring out a light and know what they are doing!

They also have beautiful garden seating. I ordered Turkish coffee, fresh grapefruit juice, Gurmanski dorucak, mini burek with spinach and cheese, and fruit cake. I love Turkish coffee and this was very good. The juice was tart and delicious. The breakfast platter was a showstopper. Two fried eggs, tomato, feta, two meat patties, and homemade bread. The flavors of the meat blew my mind. Who knew that Croatians make the most delicious burgers. This is a hearty and fantastic dish. Also, the burek was flaky and light and not very mini. I took home the cake and enjoyed it later. Light, delicate and not overly sweet, this was a star. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you should stop in for any meal. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for and you get a lot of bang for your buck. I can't wait to r

Seating is first-come, first-served, and guests are placed based on availability, which keeps things fair and efficient even during busy times. The tables for two are intimate and cozy, perfect for conversation, though they can become a bit tight when ordering several dishes at once. That said, the staff was attentive and checked in often enough to clear plates and make room, which made the experience much more comfortable. The dessert menu is separate, allowing guests to enjoy their meal at an unhurried pace before deciding on something sweet. Their beverage offerings are thoughtfully presented. Herbal tea options include green tea, chamomile, and English tea (Stash), and the tea is served in a container that provides two full servings. The cappuccino is well made and served with a sugar crystal stick, adding a distinct old-world charm that enhances the café's European feel. I regret not asking for an additional order of Turkish coffee so that's a regret . What we ordered: * Greek Salad - $18.50 * Cappuccino - $6.80 * Herbal Tea - $6.00 * Uštipci - $17.25 * Musaka - $22.95 * Šnicla (Cutlet Sandwich) - $20.75 * 2 Diet Cokes - $8.00 The musaka is a baked dish and does take about 25 minutes to prepare, as it's made fresh with baked eggs, seasoned beef, and sliced potatoes layered on top. The wait is well worth it, resulting in a hearty, comforting dish that tastes authentically homemade. The Šnicla (cutlet sandwich) arrived beautifully presented on a wooden board, adding a rustic, elevated touch that matched the restaurant's aesthetic. Mom felt it lacked in seasoning but she Didnt leave any crumbs . The Uštipci were a standout--served with feta and honey, generously portioned, and so plentiful that we happily took some home. We were too full for dessert this time, but it's absolutely on the list for a return visit. Due to winter weather, we couldn't explore the back of the restaurant, but even from the main dining area, the decor is undeniably charming and full of character. Overall, Cafe Bubamara offers authentic flavors, generous portions, attentive service, and a cozy, old-world atmosphere that makes it a place worth revisiting.
