I only found out the headphone jack was dodgy 3/4 weeks after I bought it as It was sitting in my room waiting for a new sim card. He completely used this fact against me, the first thing he said when I presented the issue is "you broke it". He refused to fix it for free and insisted It was working before I purchased it. Clearly, the test procedure failed and he wouldn't admit it. The customer before me was similarly upset as he refused to repair his second hand purchase for free also. If you are going to purchase an item from this store prepare for an unpleasant transaction if anything goes amiss and take the "warranty" with a grain of salt.

It sells glassware, candles, curtains, electrical items and bedding and much more. Needed a replacement kettle and picked up a Swiss one there, also some potpourri (from a large selection, much larger then Debenhams and much more reasonably priced). Didn't expect to see large size rugs there but they had some and had started to take a poke through when one of the staff told me that some 800 were due in the morning. So I thanked him for the helpful info and decided to wait as that large consignment seemed very promising indeed.

I lost my Nikon camera battery charger and needed one immediately, so I paid a 25% premium above what Amazon was selling my camera battery charger for. Turns out, three days later I found my charger after all and so didn't need the one I purchased at Camera World. I went to return the essentially brand-new-three-day-old camera battery charger, only to learn that they don't accept returns. To top it off, when I mentioned I was never told that by the salesman who sold me the charger, one of the men told me, "It's not your legal right to know." The other man chimed in, "It's the customer's responsibility to ask." Hmm, interesting. So not only did I pay for an un-returnable overpriced camera battery charger, I was also hit with condescending sales staff when I wanted to return it. I responded by saying that while it may not be my legal right, it certainly would have been courteous and gentlemanly to mention the return policy upon purchasing. They responded, "We have tons of customers. You think we have time for that?" Well, how about simply training your sales staff to remind customers about the return policy when they make a sale. It's as simple as saying "this item can't be returned" or "we don't accept returns." Or put up a sign. Seems pretty easy and not very time consuming to me. But nope, they didn't have any of that. It was by far the worst experience I've ever had with any retail store. With the way I was treated, I almost felt conned: like they purposely don't tell their customers about the return policy so they can more easily close sales. To top it off, they seemed to offer very little empathy about the situation, and were extremely rude. My recommendation: unless you absolutely need something THAT moment, wait the extra 2-3 days for something off Amazon and avoid Camera World AT ALL COSTS. Unless you're in a bind or want to give your business to someone who doesn't value their customer relationships, I see no reason to ever even step foot in there.

This is my old haunt for running gear...and one I will return to whenever I'm in Cork…read more The shop doesn't really look like it's going to have much in it. It's not huge. It's not all shiny and fancy...but outward appearances are totally deceiving! Inside you will find pretty much everything you could want for running and a lot of triathlon gear too. John Buckley himself (former elite runner) is often there and is always friendly. Staff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and you never feel rushed. They take a look at your feet for arch height etc before fitting shoes and will have a chat about injuries etc in coming up with recommendations. If they don't have something in stock, they'll order it. So obliging! Lots of lovely running clothes are available...too many in fact. I think I may have paid for at least part of John Buckley's car! They have a variety of socks and running accessories (belts, watches, heart rate monitors, Nike+), as well as energy bars and drinks. They also stock wetsuits for the triathletes out there. Most people end up with their discount/membership card which earns a 10% discount on purchases. In my world that means I buy an extra top or two each time. Because they're such a bargain! (Female logic....) The shop also sponsors an annual 5K race and various staff members can be spotted at road races around the place during the year. I love this place. If only you'd gone to a place like Buckley's. Since it was founded in 1432 (roughly), it's been helping the runners in Cork get the right gear for their habit. They've an excellent choice of shoes and clothes. They tend to stock accessories that you'll actually use, and not just whatever is on trend. The staff are amazing, they really know their stuff and are really friendly too. Oh, and there's the 10% discount, which they'll insist you take. Fair enough...

I have found that all of the people who have looked after me for years, still treat me with great respect and care. I have spent may thousands of Euro with Promusica over all of these years and it doesn't matter if I "pop" in for a couple of Mic. cables or a 1,500 Euro synthesizer, the service and care is excellent. I just carried out my first on-line purchase of a very large MIDI controller keyboard and the transaction was as smooth as ever. Thank you Promusica, Owen, Eileen, Eileen Madden and Luke. P.S.
