I'm new to the area and am relying on Yelp for help finding service companies. I called on a Friday and my appointment was made for Monday. Adrienne called first thing this morning to remind me of the appointment and give an ETA. She called again to give a more specific arrival time, reporting that George was running a little behind. George arrived right on time, was friendly, knowledgeable, and got right to work replacing my cracked stove top. He laid out a blanket to protect the floor, explained what he was doing, and even cracked a joke or two. This guys comes out and tells me my refrigerator is too cold because it's in my garage. I explained to him it was in the same place last year when it snowed. Really!!! It's a fridge. Burkett Appliance Repair was great to work with. I had a brand new mini 22" range delivered for a little cottage I rent out as a vacation rental. The very 1st guests attempted to use it, and the oven did not work. It was covered under the manufacturer's warranty, and Burkett worked great with the company and fixed the range quickly and with ease. Pros - Very professional, friendly, and willing to work with you to try and fit you in to a tight repair schedule as soon as possible. Cons - I don't think they have much experience repairing newer models with integrated electronics. We have an LG front load washing machine throwing an error code during the cycle. Repairman never asked me what the code was or looked up the information. Replaced the pump on the machine which did not fix the problem. I looked online and the error code the machine (continues to) display has NOTHING to do with the pump. Overall - high marks for customer service, low marks for technical expertise on newer systems. read more

I have had George repair my appliances for over 20 years. Especially when I had rentals, George was always there to fix it right the first time and he never overcharged me. Since moving into a single home, I have only had to have him twice in the last few years. Not only is George dependable, he knows what he is doing. He fixed my dishwasher today....I was amazed the part he ordered and installed happened in less than a week. He is very pleasant, efficient, knowledgable and after all these years, I am happy he has not yet retired. His wife Adrienne makes up the other part of this business and is a delight to deal with. They did eventually get the job done. But after coming by (for a dishwasher I had already disassembled and diagnosed) and saying "1-2 weeks, about $140 more (on top of the $50 initial call)" nothing happened. After 3 weeks, I called, and they said "oh, yeah, the part is sitting right here." Then they moved the appointment we made to another day. Finally came, and when I winged about the price, they came down to $258 total ... about what I could have had a used machine bought and installed for. But I did have the added bonus of having George chat with himself the entire time I was here trying to work. He's a really nice guy, and obviously has been at this a while, but it may be getting near time for him to retire. read more

We used Burkett Appliance to diagnose and fix our Bosch refrigerator and were extremely pleased with their service. Adrian, who handles phone calls and makes appointments was polite and helpful and fit us into their schedule as quickly as possible. George accurately diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and came out as soon as it arrived and got our refrigerator running. He is really good at what he does, charges a fair price, and he also happens to have a delightful personality. He and his wife Adrian make a great team! Our fridge started going out and we had extended warranty with Lowes who sent out Burkett Appliance Repair and they were wonderful. I called for a repair on my washing machine and George came that afternoon. I didn't have to wait all afternoon either - I was told he'd be here at 1:00 p.m. and he was. Called Burketts out to check a washing machine that was not cycling properly at our summer cabin in August of 2015. We were told the timer needed replacing and, although we were leaving not to return until June 2016, we approved the new timer order and arranged with our property manager to allow Burkett access for the repair. Supposedly a new timer was installed which we paid for later in August. Upon returning this June, we found the washer was stil not cycling. I called Burketts to have Mr. Burkett to come out and check out the problem with their repair........only to be told by Adrienne Burkett that they do not guarantee any work after nine months, and, as well implied that she did not believe my claim that this was the first time the washer had been used since Last August. Not wanting to deal further with Burketts, I called another appliance repair company....who came out, found that either the timer had not been replaced or had been replaced by a broken timer.....Unbelievable to me that Burketts would not stand by their work in this situation and rudely question a client's integrity. There are much better, more reliable companies in the area. Very frustrating and unnecessarily expensive read more
