We called this place for our washing machine that was not draining. The technician came out and diagnosed it within minutes. We were charged an outrageous amount just for the diagnosis and told that our part would be ordered and they would get it installed. It has now been 3 weeks and I've called 3 times wondering the ETA on the part. She said she did not know and didn't even apologize. The website states that they have a 24 hour answering service and when I called at 5:01 pm, she lectured me about calling after hours. Avoid these people. They are incompetent and perhaps more than a little crooked. I called about a faulty icemaker on my Thermador refrigerator. They came out the next day, made an instant (and incorrect) diagnosis of the problem, took a hefty deposit and said they'd be back in a few days. That was the end of the good part. I called repeatedly over the next several weeks and NEVER got an answer. Finally I told them that if I didn't hear from them I would dispute the charge and cancel the order. No answer. So I called another repair place. They made a correct diagnosis and installed the part within a few days. Voila! Ice! I truly regret that I didn't do my homework like I usually do, and read the reviews about this place. They are absolutely horrible. Rude, unprofessional, and untrustworthy. They were actually recommended by Sears when my washing machine was not draining. The first person I spoke to was Kaya who was actually friendly and said that I would get excellent service and repair, So I made an appointment with her. Mike and Lisa came out 2 hours after they were supposed to the first time, they didn't even walk into my laundry room and diagnosed the problem being the motherboard saying it had to be replaced and it was the fault of the PG&E outage. They said my 7-year-old front loading washing machine was definitely worth repairing. They spent a total of about 5 minutes and charged me $100 for the visit. They came back with a motherboard. They again arrive 2 hours later, each visit was made after dark, so unprofessional. They said all tests well and charged me $466. I didn't try using my washing machine until 2 days later and now it wouldn't even turn on. I called Lisa and told her and she said that it was the outlet valve and it needed to be replaced. I asked how she could know that without coming out and looking, she said that's what it always is if it's not the motherboard. She told me it would only be around $40 plus labor. When 5 days passed and I didn't hear anything I called and spoke to Kaya again, this time she was very rude and said if your part had come in I would have called you. I told her it's been 3 weeks and I really need my washing machine repaired she said that Mike and Lisa would be out the next day. My husband took time off of work for the time they were supposed to show up and they never did. So I called Lisa after waiting until 5:00 and she said I'm not coming today my son fell and were in the emergency room. I'll come tomorrow morning.I told her I'm sorry about your son but it would have been really nice to have gotten a phone call letting me know they were not going to come. My husband took the morning off of work the next day and they did come but said that the outlet valve did not do the repair and it was something else. She said she was going to bring her father Ron out, who is the owner, because he knows how to fix everything. Mike Lisa and Ron come out, and Ron starts saying he thinks that now it's the water inlet valve and that the motherboard they installed must have been defective. I asked him how he thought that now the water inlet valve had to be replaced if the motherboard that was installed is defective, Ron said that's a good point. Then he said we're going to come back with a new motherboard so it's all good. He also said he would fill out all the paperwork for us to get reimbursement from PG&E since it was all their fault. We actually feel that They are probably defrauding PG&E by charging for a bogus repair, using used parts, and then having people try to get their money back from PG&E. At that point he said we'll be back with a new motherboard. In the meantime I had about six loads of laundry to do. I waited 5 days then I called Kaya and politely asked if the new motherboard had come in, she said they were still waiting but began to quote me a price for the water inlet valve. At that point I said I don't want to wait any longer I would like a refund of the $566 that I have paid so far and I'm going to buy a new machine. Ron gets on the phone and says I'm not dealing with you anymore you're an irritable ass and hung up on me. My husband called Ron and gave him a few choice words, Ron said he didn't want to deal with us anymore and was going to give us a refund of what we paid. My husband had to phone them weekly to remind them for a payment. They stopped answering our calls, so we left messages, we got all but $160 back in checks from them, and I think it's because we told them we were going to alert PG&E of what they were doing or we probably wouldn't have gotten anything back. These people are thieves. I called Sears and told them that I needed a new washing machine but I wasn't going to buy it from them because they recommended this horrible company, Sears said they hadn't heard anything bad about them but would not recommend them any longer. My husband called Sears back a few days later to ask for a washing machine repair recommendation just to see if they would recommend Sonora appliance repair, the guy gave my husband a couple of different names and said he couldn't recommend one company because it got some bad reviews. So hopefully Sears is not recommending them anymore. It made me very sad to have to throw away my probably very repairable washing machine and go buy a new one, which by the way I bought at Lowe's. read more

I was present at my parents home when the owner of Sonora appliance, his daughter and son in law came back for like the 6th time to try to fix my parents dishwasher after charging $900.00 They couldn't figure it out the first 5 times as they are not knowledgeable or informed on the appliances they work on. After still not being able to figure out the problem the old man who owns the business became absolutely enraged. Starting screaming obscenities, dropping the F Bomb and N Word freely, then proceeded to call them liberals. They were asked to leave the home when they continued to berate and scream some of the most heinous things and racial slurs I have ever heard. Where do I start...I had a work order sent to this company from GeekSquad/AIG to repair a Refrigerator. Kayla said on the day she was first scheduled that it wasn't her fault that she never made the appointment because she didn't look at he emails from AIG who she contracts through. I was very upset she was blaming everyone but herself. But nice me I gave her another chance to prove me wrong about her work ethics. She eventually found my work order. We scheduled for her to come out on Tuesday (Today) between noon and 5. I marked my calendar. On Saturday I called to confirm my appointment and ask a question about the Refrigerant that may have leaked out of my Fridge. She stated they are licensed to service the Refrigerant and not to worry. She also confirmed our appointment. This morning I called to confirm that I was on the schedule and she stated I was between 12 and 5. At about 2pm today I called to make sure the workers were still able to make it today, she stated yes and that they would be arriving shortly. Well now it is 3:30pm and no repair men have shown up. I called again and Kayla stated she was going to call the guys and see how much longer. At 4:30 pm I called her back because she never called me back. She then stated that I would have to call AIG again to ask for another company to do the service repair because she was unable to find my work order. I asked her why she would tell me Friday she found it and now she doesn't have it. She told me she was mistaken and I would have to contact AIG to send out a different company. She not only has the worst company, she is the rudest woman ever! She is a doesn't care about anyone but herself. I had someone sitting at my home waiting for them for now 2 days. I can not believe she is still contracted with AIG. I am going to do everything in my power to get AIG to drop her as a contracted company to do repairs. My the freezer part of my side-by-side fridge/freezer broke & after being jacked around by Samsung (via A&E Factory Services) for about a month in total they finally sent Sonora Appliance out to fix my unit because it was still under warranty. They claimed to have fixed it and left. Seemed to be ok, and within days I went on vacation, only to come home to the whole unit not working! He not only didn't fix the freezer but he broke the fridge. I called Samsung to complain yet again & we made a 3 way call to Sonora Appliance (this was a Thursday) - they said they'd be out on Saturday from 12-2 at 12:30 I called and was told that they didn't have my # to call me, but they couldn't make it. They promised to come Sunday - then we got a call that they weren't coming because one of their techs wasn't available & they scheduled it for Tuesday. All this time I have no working fridge or freezer inside my home. So, now here we are on Tuesday they showed up {supposedly} fixed it & left without saying anything. Like other reviewers here, if I could give zero stars, I would. I'm really thinking that Cheryl, who gave a good review, mistakenly reviewed the wrong company. Maybe the other good reviews are from family members or friends, because I simply cannot believe that anyone would really leave such a good review if they'd honestly used this company. Be sure to scroll to the bottom, too. There are several more bad reviews there that didn't make the cut for Yelp. Samsung referred me to Sonora Appliance for a warranty repair on a dryer. The office manager, Kaiya, called me two days later to make an appointment, which is exactly what was supposed to happen. Ron was supposed to be at my home between 1pm - 5pm yesterday (Wed 19 Jul 2017). At 4:45pm, he'd still not shown, so I called the office. Kaiya called Ron and then called me back at 4:50pm to say that Ron would arrive by 6pm. I explained that 6pm was getting too late for me to have a repairman come. My laundry area is off of my small kitchen and I have a family of 6 for whom I needed to begin preparing dinner. Kaiya asked if I'd like to reschedule for Thu or Fri. I agreed to today (Thu). She said she'd call me back with a time. This morning (Thu) around 10am, I called the office because no one had called to give me an arrival time. Ron answered the phone and proceeded to tell me that I cancelled on him yesterday and I'd have to wait until Fri. I very nicely reminded him that he simply hadn't shown up on time yesterday and that 6pm was too late for me. He then proceeded to call me a liar, telling me that I should have listened better, because Kaiya NEVER would have scheduled my repair for today because he doesn't work on Thursdays. I was flabbergasted... nearly at a loss for words. I explained (very calmly, very nicely) that she certainly had scheduled for today... I had not misheard... that in fact she'd given me a choice between Thu and Fri. He then told me that he doesn't do warranty work for Samsung anymore, that he just picks up a job or two once in awhile. Ron then told me that our conversation was over, that I should call Samsung, and he hung up the phone. I was positively stunned. I called Samsung and lodged a complaint with them about Sonora Appliance and also rescheduled for another repair service. I can honestly say that I have never been treated so rudely by any repair service. I will be certain to badmouth Sonora Appliance at every opportunity and I *strongly* advise against giving this guy any business at all. Find someone else. read more

I called Sonora Appliance after the power outages took out both of my refrigerators and she sounded so nice on the phone, Oh Ron will fix it for you and you will be good to go, RIGHT, Ron comes out does not do anything but write down numbers, then charge his $100 trip charge and service fee which is good for 90 days (so I was told), I wasn't home when he came but he charged an additional $100 for a deposit, for what he never gave us a quote, then when we finally get the quote it is OUTRAGEOUS, the part was a little high but ok I get that $185 but then they wanted to charge $200 to install it which is not even a 5 min job, I said heck with that we will do ourselves and I want my $100 back cause you cannot charge a deposit for something you never quoted and we have called 7 times now about the refund and keep getting the run around. After getting some information he said it could be one of three things. My wife then asked what the worst-case scenario would be cost wise. He got surly and said he wasn't "going to play that game." When she asked what he meant he said (paraphrasing) he'd had a rough day. Really? This company is without doubt, the worst repair people I have EVER dealt with. After Lisa and Mike twice tried to fix a heater that was not working in a dishwasher that is 3 years old, they decided to bring the owner, Ron, out to take a look. After replacing the heating element and the thermostat and still not heating, the owner stated we did not know how to use a dishwasher after we have had it for 3 years, calling me a n****r (I am a 77 year old white guy) and to get another n****r to fix it, dropping multiple F BOMBS in front of my wife and daughter and since they had not fixed any of the problem, I asked for a refund to which he started asking F*** you, you're not getting a dime from me and in fact he wanted to charge me for a part that did not fix the problem. I am going to also post this to the BBB and hopefully enough people who have run into this same vulgar, incompetent and dishonest attitude will post to BBB and hopefully his business license will be revoked. BUYER OR INDIVIDUAL SEEKING REPAIRS BEWARE! I contacted this company one year ago to diagnose and repair my Samsung Refrigerator. The freezer was no longer freezing properly and the refrigerator was also too warm. They stated that the refrigerators Evap Cover and fans needing replacement in the refrigerator along with the temp sensor. They were correct. The freezer however they replaced the temp sensor and gave us a warranty on the parts. Things worked good for a year. I contacted them back one year later because again the freezer was not working. They stated the freezer fan was bad and also the temp sensor again. They gave me a 90 day diagnosis warranty and 1 year parts. Just before the 90 days things stopped working again, freezer warming up items thawing out. Called them again they again charged me diagnosis fee when clearly they didn't fix it before again replaced temp sensor. Three days later I called again and NO RETURN CALL! So I fixed it myself and apparently I should have done that before. They will rip you off do not use their services. read more

Sonora Appliance was listed on the Bosch website for warranty repairs along with another business in Sonora. The other business was listed first, and when I called them they were unable to come for a week. It was a new fridge and upon installation there was a leak in the icemaker line of the fridge, NOT our connection. I thought for a brand new high end appliance a week was too long, and they were very rude. So, I called Sonora Appliance and Kaiya was very helpful, and even though it was 3 days before Ron could come, they were very polite and explained the reason for the delay. Scheduled by SEARS to repair our dryer. Initial visit rescheduled twice. Replaced drum, with lots of cursing, on 3rd visit. They even bad-mouthed SEARS whom they were sub-contracting for. My wife felt sorry for their difficulties and tipped them, despite their lack of professionalism, and then discovered the front panel was loose (missing fasteners). Then, the first full load resulted in the same noises that prompted the service call. We called to let them know and a week later, after no return call, scheduled another repair through SEARS. This time NO SHOW! We called and asked where they were and were told they refused to return because we were a business and our Sears Warranty only covered Residential! This is nonsense. While we are a Bed & Breakfast, this dryer is in our apartment and for personal use only. It's interesting that they have 23 terrible (1 star) and 3 great (5 star) reviews yet no 2, 3 or 4 star reviews, which makes me suspect the 5 star reviews are from friends and family. read more

Christian responded, was professional, gave us a written bid, came on time, returned on time and fixed our appliance. This is our go to appliance repair company from now on!!! I lost track of the number of trips they made to replace an igniter and igniter module. When presented with their $400+ bill we hesitantly paid. This is not a business & if I lived in Sonora or was a part of the city counsel in that town I would be appalled that these criminals were using the name "Sonora" in their fake business name. Oven repair resulted in grease left all over the tile countertop and floor. Vinyl floor was ripped. After taking pictures and emailing to this company, Ron stated thet they were not responsible for the grease or damage. Too bad, an apology and a few dollars to offset the floor repair would've been satisfactory. We will now pursue this in Small Claims Court. When they looked at the problem, they didn't have a clue, and I know now they were only after the money. I know a lot of you don't think it's worth the time and the money to take them to court, but your wrong there. Court action is another nail in the coffin of crooked business. Don't bother with BBB, they can be bought, and have been. When going to small claims court, you'll automatically get the judgment because they won't show up. Then you file for collection with the Sheriffs dept. Most people don't do that, so they never collect. Anyway they should be shut down so that others aren't victimized. There are some good appliance repair shops in Sonora such as Burkett or Motherlode who are for real. Next time I'll read the reviews first. read more

This is a horrible company. They came out 5 times and still couldn't fix the issue! I've tried calling them multiple times and they refuse to pick up. I had to call them from 3 different numbers and each time they figured it was me, they stopped picking up. I'm about $480 in and they've done NOTHING. I'm asking them for my money back. I'm giving them 3 days to respond. If I don't hear from them, they'll be seeing me in court. No one knows what their job entails and no one seems to be communicating with each other. Wish I had read the reviews before I called Sonora appliance repair for service. My experience is the same as most of the other posts. Communications and customer support is terrible and they are not truthful in what they say. We purchased a new Bosch Induction cooktop. I didn't seem to be working properly so we called Bosch for service. They referred me to Sonora appliance. I called for an appointment between, it was scheduled between 8:00 and 12:00. By 12:15, they still hadn't showed up. I called and the receptionist said the tech was running late and would be there shortly. He showed up at 1:00. Ultimately he had to order a part. The tech support person at Bosch provide the part number for the service tech to order. Seems simple. I was told the part should take 3 days to get. Six days go by and no call from Ron, Kaya or Lisa. I called and was told the part just came in. We set up an appointment between 10:00 am and 12:00 on a Friday. At 1:00 pm I call the office and got no answer. I called Ron on his cell and still now answer and no return call. After multiple calls, at 1:15 I finally got through to the office. She said that the tech got held up in in Arnold and was on his way to my appointment. Being extremely frustrated, I asked to speak to Ron. Ron tried to tell me that my paperwork was mixed in with others so he couldn't call me back. I half believed him until I read these other comments. Finally I was told that their tech ordered the wrong part and that and they would have to re-order it, I guess not so simple. Ron ultimately told me that they would not service my appliance and to find someone else. This is by far the worst company in the county for customer service that I have come across in the past 15 years. Avoid if you can. read more

We had fantastic service from this company. We do not live in Cold Springs full time, but we had a leak from our refrigerator and needed it fixed as soon as possible. They were wonderful about scheduling a date and time that we could be there. They were on time to checl out the problem, but had to return the next day with the part that was needed. I would highly reccommend them for any appliance rapir that you may need done. Once you pay the initial service call fee, there is no charge for additional service calls for any appliance within 90 days. read more

For a week I've been trying to get a price and set up an appt. for the replacement. They say they will call me - but they don't. The rest of the time I can't get anyone to even answer their phone. I was verbally assaulted by the owner of this company. They were supposed to come and look to see what's wrong with my appliance on 04/03/2015 they never showed up or called me i had to have my warranty department call them to figure out what was going on because Sonora Appliance was avoiding the phone, they ended up saying that they had a flat tire and they couldn't come. I called and made a complaint with the warranty department about how Kaya the owner's wife was treated me and how every time I asked about when my washer was going to be fixed they didn't know. They were supposed to come on 04/07/2015 they said it was too far to drive. On 04/10/2015 the owner came I asked them to put coverings on their shoes that I had because I have kids that go on the floor and we don't wear shoes in the house. He started yelling at me saying FUCK YOU and the way you spoke to my wife and I shouldn't have to wear anything on my FUCKEN shoes. I asked him not to raise his voice at me we are both adults and I have young children that heard the way he assaulted me using profanity towards me. He said I'm not going to fix your FUCKEN appliance you FUCKEN idiot and screw you. He slammed my door and left I yelled at him letting him know that I'm reporting him. wow, i should of read these reviews first, this company is horrible!! thank god i didnt ever even get to meet any of them! they put me on the schedule for 12, at 7:00 they call and say they are still coming out, that they had a problem in Columbia, they never showed up, never called, never did anything, i am glad i looked here, i am definatley calling someone else, they are not worth the headache all ready, then to top it off, the woman was tired and spun out, she said she does this out of her house and that she is very tired and done with the day when i went to make an appt-id beware and read the others interactions with these people, they seem like typical dirtbags!! read more

Horrible experience with Sonora Appliance! I went with them because they advertised that they work on Wolf stoves. I was told there was a $95 service charge but I wouldn't be charged again when they came back to replace a part. A guy showed up and said QUOTE "I don't know how these stoves work". He fiddled around a few minutes and left not knowing what the problem was. I called and they said that the owner would come out to look at my stove. After missing an appointment, the first guy came back out. He took the stove apart after I showed him how to remove the top. Then he called the owner who talked him through the diagnosis with the help of a picture sent from his cell phone. In the process, he singed his eyebrows when a flame flared up. I was charged $115, $95 for the service charge and $20 toward the part, and told they would call when the part came in. Eventually, I called them and was told that they couldn't get parts for this older Wolf stove. She said she tried 3 places. I had a hard time believing her and told her I would research it myself. It took me less than 10 minutes on the internet to find the company who carries parts for Wolf stoves manufactured before they were bought out by Subzero. I called back and she acted like she knew this all along and that's what she told me??? NOT. She tried to talk me out of getting the stove fixed saying the control module needed to be replace and it was very expensive. When I said I still wanted it to be fixed, suddenly it wasn't the control module but the spark ignitor, an inexpensive part. It took them over 4 weeks to come back with the part even though the parts place states that they ship within one or two days. The part was suppose to cost around $45. The same guy who doesn't know these stoves came to replace the part. He asked me how to turn off the gas. It took him about 40 minutes to replace the part and he charged me an additional $236.70, $87 for the part and $162 for labor, plus tax. That's a total of $352 to replace a $45 part! I called Sonora Appliance office and was told that they weren't charging me to come back - they were charging me for labor, like it was two different things! This is the most horrible company to deal with. They informed me they could fix my appliance, so they came and picked it up, charging me $95 for a one minute analysis and requested $50 deposit for parts. They informed it would take a week. After a week, we called and they informed us the part was on back order, we then called weekly (8 times). We got so frustrated that we called manufacturer direct. They informed us parts hadn't been available for our model for a few years! It's been 2 weeks since the owner said he would return our $50 deposit. We called him 3 times requesting the deposit, each time he had excuses. The last conversation, he got very rude. After 2 months of wasting our time, we have decided to issue a formal complaint with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs. One star is too high for this company. Horrible customer service. I have had to deal with them for a few weeks regarding a problem with my washing machine and have had nothing but problems with the company. I left a message to reschedule with Kaya and she never bothered to call me back. When I called the next day to make sure they didn't show up at my house she sounded surprised. Generally, people leave messages about their appointments for a reason. When I called yesterday to reschedule nobody gave me a day or time for the appointment and said Patrick would call me back. He just showed up at my house today without calling to let me know when he was coming. Patrick had to take pictures of my washing machine for an insurance claim and his camera wasn't even working so he asked me to do it. Then, he couldn't even bother to test out the washing machine before he left. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with this company anymore. read more
