Dr. Victor Lee and the team at Burlingame Orthodontics are the real deal! I never thought I'd actually be able to straighten my teeth without traditional braces first because another orthodontist told me so. Dr. Lee made it happen, and then some. After a little over a year with Invisalign, the difference is incredible. My teeth and smile is straighter, but the bonus I didn't expect was how much my bite improved too. I used to constantly bite my lip and tongue, and that's just... gone now. Every visit, Dr. Lee took the time to walk me through my progress in a way that actually made sense. You never feel like just another patient moving through a conveyor belt, you feel informed and cared for. The staff is wonderfully friendly and seriously organized. As someone with a packed work schedule, I had to reschedule more than once and they were always understanding and quick to sort something out. Zero stress. A small bonus was their Nespresso coffee on the way out. Since I always came in on workdays, that little cup of coffee felt like a treat every single time. 10/10, highly recommend to anyone on the fence about Invisalign. I felt compelled to respond after reading Ess K.'s review. Our family has been going to Burlingame Ortho for years, and Cathy, Dr. Lee, and the entire team have always been professional, friendly, and compassionate. Both of our children have received excellent care with absolutely no complaints. Frankly, Ess K.'s review says more about the reviewer than the office. The transcripts she so crudely included make it clear that Cathy explained the insurance payout process thoroughly and politely. To twist that into something negative or claim Cathy was demeaning is utterly inconsistent with her reputation and how she treats people. And a quick glance at Ess K.'s other reviews (mostly one or two stars for nearly everyone) tells you all you need to know. Everyone in Dr. Lee's office is professional, kind, and willing to help with anything and everything. Our son (age 14) is getting Invisalign, and it's been a great experience. He feels comfortable with everyone there, to the extent that he'll go to appointments on his own. (We live within walking distance, too, so that's nice!) Twice I've stopped by in-person to discuss tricky insurance matters with Cathy, and she has gone above and beyond. I write this review with a great amount of sadness, 1) that I had the experience that I had with this service provider and, 2) that I am writing this negative review which I don't like to do. On the one hand, I think the medical service provided by Dr. Lee and his team of dental assistants is very good. He cares a lot and is very precise and meticulous with care for his patients. After ending my treatment (I had a very light case) within one calendar year, I was surprised to get a statement the next year (nearly 6 months from end of treatment) from the insurance and called in to the office to inquire. I had known that insurance paid in installments but had no idea that insurance had to span more than one year by insurance coverage-- this is very unique and I do not know of any other insurance-related situation where this is true. After calling in worried, I received what I consider very demeaning voicemail from the client care coordinator, Cathy, snippets of which are attached to this review. I have honestly never been talked to (at?) in such a demeaning way and I have never felt worse in my interactions with a service provider. To be clear: I was not calling in to dispute a charge. I was a confused client seeking clarity and help and the response does not match what I was originally seeking in the way of information. In this regard, I am personally critical of all the reviews talking about the positive client experience from the office team. They aren't mean so much as indifferent, from my experience and observation. No one knew me by name (and until my negative experience, I had no idea workers' names either) and I found office experiences perfunctory and transactional. There's nothing wrong with this but I just personally am critical about the 5 star reviews for this establishment. They seem... manufactured but that is just my personal opinion at this point in time. All in all, I am disappointed in the end by my experience with this service provider and I express that with a heavy heart. For being a place where I invested heavily and where again the medical care was positive, I come away with a pretty sour view of the experience and if I could do it all over again, I would have chosen to go with a different office. It's one thing to be out of pocket an additional $900; that would have smarted but I would have gotten over it. But that being told to you in a sneering manner, especially in this day in age with layoffs and other economic matters affecting most people-- that's unacceptable by someone in a customer service capacity. I expressed my dismay in person, face to face to Dr. Lee and I hope he understands how negative this was for me and drives changes with his team. read more

Burlingame Orthodontics is in a lovely neighborhood and parking is very easy, which makes a big difference. The office looks new, bright, clean, and welcoming without being too busy or loud - nicer and more comfortable than going to a dental office, somehow. Everyone is welcoming, helpful, and very kind. Within the short time Norma took photos and scans my first time there, I felt like I had made a new friend. After having seen two other orthodontists before coming to Burlingame Orthodontics, I found Dr. Lee's team to be the most genuinely friendly and helpful. Dr. Lee was the only one who could explain and put into perspective the differing treatment recommendations I had received, what the risks and chances of success were with each approach, and why the recommendations could differ so greatly. And he did so in an efficient manner that was not rushed. He welcomed all my questions, and impressively explained complicated details in an understandable way. Dr. Lee is thorough, transparent, informative, extremely knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and funny - which is wonderful because treatment is serious and can be scary. Recently finished my ortho treatment (braces), very happy with the result. I chose this practice among others because this was the only place where I wasn't rushed through the initial consultation and wasn't pushed to get invisalign (wanted to do braces for a personal reason). Dr. Lee explained both braces and invisalign treatments in a very detailed manner, encouraged to ask questions. Pricing was competitive compared to other practices, and I'm very pleased initial estimate was the same as final price. Dr. Lee is great and all staff members are amazing, kind, helpful and responsive. I was always able to schedule appointments at times convenient to me, never had any issues with appointments or billing. Final result is exactly as 3D model I was shown initially, or even slightly better. Strongly recommend this practice if you're looking for ortho treatment! read more

It's not often one looks forward to doctor's appointments, but Dr. Lee and his staff make every visit a joy! I truly enjoyed my orthodontic journey with them, and what a journey it was! I started with Invisalign and wasn't very good about wearing it for the first part of my treatment, leading Dr. Lee to eventually recommend braces. I paid a flat fee in the beginning and that included as many rounds of Invisalign as were needed as well as the braces and retainer (and even a second retainer after I get an implant). This was incredibly nice, this office truly believes in patient satisfaction. Dr. Lee was always thorough, gentle and very patient with me. I ask a lot of questions and he is at always kind and patient when answering, making me feel very comfortable with the treatment and very informed about the progress. The two assistants Elena and Norma are also lovely and Cathy at the front desk is a pure joy. Everyone treats you how they would treat a friend or relative, it was absolutely incredible how authentic and kind everyone in this office is. Definitely my favorite doctor's office ever! I relocated from Burlingame to Marin and always look forward to coming in despite the long drive. To top it all off, the office gave me a bottle of sparkling wine when I got my braces off! I recently got my Invisalign done at Dr. Lee's office and the whole experience was amazing! I am always traumatized when it comes to visiting dental offices but I can truly say I had a great experience here. Let me break it down for you: The office - super clean, modern, plus iPad and coffee available to you while you wait. Parking is also very easy which is important. The staff - amazingly friendly, responsive, and genuinely care about the patients. Everyone knows my name - that kind of friendly! Dr. Lee - very detailed and explained the treatment process thoroughly. I also appreciate the fact that he provided different options on what can be done so I was able to make an informed decision. Throughout the treatment process, Dr. Lee was professional, approachable, thoughtful, and patient. He goes above and beyond to make sure things are done right! The Result - Beyond my expectations! My teeth is now straightened and I got it done in shorter time than originally planned (I do wear the Invisalign almost at all time so that helps!). I just finished my invisalign treatment with Dr. Lee and was extremely impressed by the overall process. I started my treatment about a year ago and immediately recognized the attention to detail and thoroughness of Dr. Lee and his staff. I had gone through braces before but didn't wear the retainer and so this was my second time through this ordeal. Unlike my first experience, I found Dr. Lee to be very thorough and transparent with every step. He is very personable and knowledgeable and makes sure that you are well informed through it all. He was very clear with the purpose, duration and restrictions(dietary, etc) of each phase which was very helpful. Dr. Lee was also very sympathetic and receptive as I brought up questions and concerns. You truly sense that he is looking out for your best interests. His explanations are also extremely precise and informative and give you comfort in knowing that you're in good hands. I highly recommend Dr. Lee and his staff. The length of the procedure was essentially exactly the duration he projected(actually a bit faster) and I am very happy with my results. Dr. Lee even regularly checks in post completion to see that things are still fine and to answer any questions. Dr. Gibbs put my braces on in the 6th grade and I could not be happier with the results. I get complimented on my smile very regularly as an adult. I wore braces for three years which at the time was longer than I was hoping for but looking back was totally worth the wait. Dr. Gibbs didn't want to take my braces off until my teeth were absolutely perfect and he didn't. I'm 22 now and I live in LA but I still wear my retainer every night and visit Dr. Gibbs for a check up appointment about every 6 months when I'm home in Burlingame. It's fun going by his office because the staff remember me and are always excited to see me. There are 3 women who work in the office, Cathy, Norma, and Jessica who are always very friendly and extremely helpful. This was really great when I had my braces on because I would have to go in for adjustments about every 3 weeks and it was nice to look forward to my office visits and seeing everyone in the office again instead of dreading it. With braces, It's important to like everyone in the office because you have to interact with them on a very regular basis for about 2 years. I have nothing but great things to say about his staff. Dr. Gibbs himself is also a very sweet man. He's always genuinely interested in what's new in my life and from what I can tell he has a great relationship with most of his patients. I visited a few offices prior to starting my Invisalign and although theirs was the furthest from my home, I didn't hesitate to choose them based on how comfortable they made me feel. Three years ago I started looking for an orthodontist for my daughter. My daughter had a complicated case and one orthodontist said that she needed surgery to have her jaw cut and closed shut for a while. I was terrified at the thought and didn't want my daughter to go through that. I was then referred to Dr. Lee from a family friend who went to him. I am so happy that we did! He did not suggest that she needed that surgery to fix her teeth. My daughter now has her braces off and a beautiful smile. The whole experience was great. My husband did an Invisalign treatment and I got myself some retainers (to keep my teeth from shifting naturally). The final result after the Invisalign turned out amazing! His teeth are straight and even, and the whole experience was very easy, pain free, and comfortable. You could barely notice when the Invisalign was in, and they could always be taken out for a special occasion, which was super convenient. Dr. Lee was efficient and precise and we are super happy with the results! As for my retainer, the process of getting the molds and fittings was simple and fast. If there was the option of giving a bonus star I would for sure!!! Dr. Lee and his staff are amazing. Both of my girls began treatment at another practice. We felt like we were part of an assembly line. My kids would check in at a kiosk and then an assistant would care for them 90% of the time. The doctor might pop by and take a quick look but there was never any interaction or dialogue. We found Dr. Lee and instantly fell in love. He is kind and engaging and truly cares about his patients. Cathy at the front desk knows everyone by name and they all remember important events in their patients' lives. My girls both completed treatment and then I began Invisalign to address a bad jaw problem I had for 20+ years. I was very concerned about beginning treatment, but Dr. Lee went above and beyond to address all my concerns. My teeth have never looked better. Dr. Lee is great! He explains procedures and options to parents and patients so everyone understands what the long-term plan for straightening teeth and removing wisdom teeth involves. I went to Dr. Lee for a new retainer because my old one broke. The staff was very gentle when they were making the impressions for my teeth. They even offer different flavors! About a week later, I came back to see Dr. Lee for the retainer fitting. He took his time to explain things to me that were not explained to me previously when I had my first retainer made. To be honest, the retainer fit much better than my old one because he made some additional trimmings on the retainer to make sure it fit perfectly and that I was comfortable wearing them. I just completed my Invisilign treatment after losing my retainer from braces years ago. I give Burlingame Orthodontics 5 stars because of the friendly staff and the environment. My daughter started with Invisalign last year in February and finished in less than a year because of Dr. Lee's great advice and help. In addition, the location of Burlingame Orthodontics is very convenient because it is walking distance from our home and after school, my daughter only has to walk a few minutes to get there from her school bus stop. The office is very cozy, and provides a small play area for kids and a clean sink with toothbrushes, toothpase, and mouthwash.
