Maxx are dog friendly stores). Afterwards, I decided that I just wanted to pop into T.J. Maxx just to browse (which is dangerous for the wallet by the way because you never know what you may end up walking out with). Well we headed over to the luggage area, which is on the left hand side when you first walk into the store. I saw the cutest Hello Kitty (hard shell) carry on luggage and knew I had to get it (lol). This Hello Kitty looked rather sporty and the bonus with this luggage was that it came with a small duffle bag, 3 piece packing cube set and a Hello Kitty head luggage ID tag. The original price was marked as $100 (which seems to be the going price if you look on Amazon, that hard shell carry one Hello Kitty luggage is about $100) but was on clearance for $59 (prior to tax). So I ended up purchasing this cute set (lucky for me that I was flying home on Southwest where you are allowed 2 check in bags for free, so I didn't have to pay extra to bring this back with me). The employee who rang me up was friendly. She smiled when she saw our little girl dog and also complemented me on the Hello Kitty luggage find too. But with T.J. Maxx and similar stores, you may not always find those hidden gems on the first visit, but over several visits. But I think that is what makes shopping at T.J. Maxx (and similar stores) all the more fun. If I lived in this area, I would most definitely be a regular.

I asked her why and she said she couldn't find the item. I showed her my invoice that showed all the info and she was still having trouble. She made it seem like that was it. I asked if there was a manager she could ask and she finally did. It was annoying because this whole process took 15 minutes! And she kept using different computers back and forth and they didn't have a merchandise credit card for my store credit at the desk. She had to call someone to bring it to her. The manager finally came and fixed the issue but this was such a hassle. Super unorganized. I would have no desire to come back to this store ever.

We were at the mall this weekend and happened to stop by JCPenney to check out mattresses. We had a sales staff member come up and ask us if we had any questions or needed any help, but also explained how the layout was - firm beds on one side, medium in the middle, and plush on the other side, with some beds set up where they are split with both types. After that she let us be (much appreciated) and we just played like Goldilocks going from one bed to the next and back and forth to determine with ones we liked. We determined a couple top contenders with our favorite and decided to leave to do some research. Upon coming home to do research, I was shocked to see how over priced JCP was. JCP had the bed we were looking for on sale for $1800 in store, but then had it on even bigger discount at $1100 online. Why not advertise that price in store? Then I saw that a number of stores including Macy's, a mattress store, and Costco, all sold this same exact bed for $500-$700, so all these stores were within a reasonable range of one another except for JCP. Why? I didn't bother to go back or contact JCP online to see about price matching and instead ordered from Costco. JCP might want to start thinking about being in line with other stores and being more reasonable, or they will be on their way out like Sears.

For you old-timers this store reminds me of a Woolworth, John's Bargain Store, Army Navy, and Big Lots all rolled into one. I ended finding some great deals and walked out of the store with at least 9 items for various departments. I have been back twice since and feel Roses is a good deal for the money.

Normal Burlington items, skin care, clothing, men's, juniors, women's, kids, Halloween and seasonal items as well as purses and shoes. Employees were super friendly and efficient. Great low prices. Ended up walking out with a halloween wind chime for only $8! If I'm ever in the area again I definetly will be coming back.
