The Forestville MD location is an absolute horrible experience. The floors are covered with coats and hangers, with no floor assistance to help you. I spent 40 minutes in line to pay for my coats and there were only 2 registers open with over 20 customers in line. The piss poor female manager was just standing around and not trying to help at the registers at all. The manager was totally useless. Is crazy how long it tackes to check out 1 hours, need more employees this not good people have kids standing there

It took me awhile to sit down and write this review bc I am a customer and have never experience what I experienced in my life. If I could give a -1 I would but I can't. What happen: I was in the store 2wks ago and was locked in store after it had closed. The police was called and the manager of the store, the police told me to stay and when the manager finally showed up 1hr later, she had an attitude with me as if it was my fault that they locked me in the store. I was locked in that store for over an hour. It was a Thursday evening and she was nasty, rude, argumentative, angry, very hostile and unprofessional. She did not apologize for locking me in the store nor did she grant me a reasoning on why? What I did: I wrote the corporate office a week ago and still no response. I went thru several chain of commands and no one has reached out to me to give me an official apology or some type of reciprocity in any form. I really expected more from this chain of stores. I was horrified, scare and most of all scare for the police in what they would do if no one came to my aid. What I want from corporate office: Reach out to me and give me official apology. This Burlington is a few storefronts down from the old location (by Bed Bath & Beyond). The new location (near MasterCuts) is clean, well lit, and very organized. The prices were great! I grabbed a few throw pillows for the price of one, as well as a few other knick knacks. Bargains a-plenty! Staff was very pleasant as well as helpful! read more

I have visited this store three times in the past month - and now a fourth time this past June 16 - specifically to visit the seamstress @ this Burlington location. She is very good at her work! This lady - the wee blonde lady who I think may be Russian or Eastern European - is very nice. She is a little timid but friendly, and seems very conscientious about her work. She is quick, efficient, and accurate. I have brought her three dress trousers now for hemming, and has done a brilliant job on each. Each time I have visited her, in the afternoon, she has actually got the hemming made for me within an hour! Dude - within an hour! Seriously - I don't know if it is because she does not get a lot of work from in-store purchases or because she is just lightning quick with any type of alteration generally, but each time I have come in she has reminded me that as long as I can get my item in before 5pm, she can get it done in an hour. I hope you as a reader does not go to this lady and take her tons of stuff and expect her to get it all done in an hour - but this is what she told me - I don't know if this is policy for the service - and has come through for a single dress trouser each visit I've made. I live a 15-20 minute drive away in Fort Washington, and yes there are a lot of alterations places in dry cleaners etc, but the few I've visited were either not friendly or put me off @ first impression. I just happened to be in the store the first time I approached the seamstress in this Burlington and as the service is only $12, I decided she couldn't be any more a risk than the dry cleaning places. I am now only bringing my alterations work to her. Although this seamstress is awesome, her boss - some Asian lady, was a bit of a pompous arse. She made herself known to me at this last visit. When I approached the alterations area, which is located opposite the men's changing area at the far left-side of the store, this boss lady was on her mobile phone checking herself out in the mirrors. When I looked into the area and did not see the wee Russian lady, I stood there expecting she would pop back in. After a few minutes the Asian lady ended her call, asked me if I needed help, and I told her I was there to see the seamstress. Her response was literally: "Why...her?" I told her because I liked the way she hemms my trousers and I wanted to bring her another and say "hello" to her. This boss lady gave me an incredulous look and with a smarmy fake smile said that the wee Russian lady was off, that the lady works for her and that SHE trained the wee Russian lady, and that she was equally well-qualified to do the same work. I noticed this lady as I walked up to the dressing room area, and her ill-fitting suit did not strike me as being great quality tailoring, especially if she would have claimed to have done it herself. I felt embarrassed for the wee Russian lady, and told her boss reluctantly that if she could do as good a job as her employee, then I'd let her measure me up. So I went through the process, paid for the hemming at the main till, and brought the receipt back to the seamstress area. I wasn't too impressed with this Asian lady and her version of customer service, so as I was about to leave I thanked her for her help and politely commented again that I am pleased with the wee Russian lady's work and was looking forward to her producing a fourth success for me. The Asian boss lady muttered something unintelligible, and waved me off. So, I guess I'll see this coming Friday what my trousers will be like. I don't get a good vibe from this Asian boss lady, so I'll try them on that day just to ensure they're what I have come to expect from the wee Russian lady. I would've asked to have them done in an hour if possible but I was hoping the actual work would fall to the wee Russian lady, AND I was in a hurry to get my other errands done ahead of the U.S. v Ghana match that afternoon. As for the Burlington store generally - well, it's a Burlington Coat Factory. It has clothes and other stuff. Unlike in previous reviews, the store seems to have got a grip recently on store conditions because I've seen it relatively clean - especially the tills area, with no merchandise spilling onto the floor. The racks have all been neat and orderly - the men's area anyway - with clear pricing. I have previously noticed a specific chap who usually picks up stray merchandise from the men's changing area and around the store, and puts them back fastidiously in the correct size-tagged areas. Good on him. Employees rarely, if ever, greet you or say "hello" or "wassup" at the very least. The cashiers are tragically slow, however. Feck me - they just love to yap and drag out each transaction with regulars despite the length of queues formed. Nothing special @ all here - I'm just there for the alterations service - the wee Russian lady alone is 5-star, but her store generally brings the score down - boo! read more

I normally try not go to this location because from my past experiences its always been disorganized and had a rude staff, but it looks like things have taken a 180 degree turn in the right direction. I went in around noon and the store was very clean and organized. The shelves were fully stocked and there was a lot of variety of things to choose from. There's Micheal Kors, Coach, Adidas, Nike, and more. I walked in looking for one thing, but walked out with several bags. Usually the fitting rooms are a mess, but there was a friendly associate, (I think her name was Fayvia?) there who kept it nice and tidy. (I think it's best to come in earlier in the day) The only problem I had today was that some of the clothes were marked with the wrong sizes, but the selection in the women's department is huge so I didn't have too much trouble trying to find something else. Something I hate most about Burlington is the long lines that you have to wait in for 20-25 mins, but the staff was able to knock out a huge line in less than 10 mins with a big smile on their faces. I didn't recognize half of the associates I saw when I visited, but I learned that the store has new managers / cashiers. Another big plus is that they have associate's who speak different languages. (It's really diverse at this location now). I think I heard a total of 4 different languages (English / Spanish / Tagalog / Creole) from the staff to greet customers in my short 30 minutes of being in the store. Its nice that they're making an effort to embrace the diversity of customers coming in, so props to this branch. You're doing it right ++ I don't know if its just me who notices it, but all the Burlingtons in Maryland never have large or clear garment bags. Absolutely no stars I was given 3 counterfeit $20 and have no been compensated because I left the store and next day went to the bank where I realized it was counterfeit. Embarrassed as hell I call Burlington store and corporate and no one wants to give me store credit or anything. I'm so pissed off I actually like this store but due to this situation I'm done. This is the MESSIEST Burlington I have ever been to. They remodeled and you still have to search, step over, and try and wipe the dirt off most items in the store. Shoes never have matches and if they do, they rarely have more than one of any size in a particular style. I recently went and there were about 20 people in line with one register open. Another person finally finished their personal phone call and opened her register, with much attitude, and the line slowly was cleared out. I'm in Burlington quite often with my mother in law who loves this place. I like looking through their clothes and house decor. I can usually find some nice clothes. My only complaint is that the women's bathroom here is literally the worst I've seen and not just once or twice but there's been multiple times I've tried to use the bathroom only to check each stall and gag. read more

I have to agree with other reviewers. The store is dirty and the staff lacks etiquette. I have found some great designer coats here so I will give 2 stars, but it is so hard to find clothes, because the store is poorly organized. Horrible. Went in to find a few items and was impossible to find anything because the store is unorganized. Rugs, etc. on the floor along with broken vases which had not been cleaned up.
