"Socks too Cheap to Shoplift?" Yes, it's true. The socks are such a good deal, no one will be tempted to shoplift them--it's just not worth it. Today, I wandered around, checking out the men's clothing and shoes. The clothing is laid out in an orderly fashion, but many of the shelves are a mess. On several aisles, equipment was scattered on the floor. The one great deal that stands out is socks. That's right, socks. They had an excellent selection of quarter height sporting socks, that are great for biking. The quality was excellent, and I was tempted to buy a package, but I already had enough at home. On prior visits, I purchase some name-brand sport socks, which proved to be outstanding. I also looked at shirts, pants, and shoes. I was not tempted on any of these other items. Most seem to be of cheap design, or in funny colors that did not interest me. But perhaps other shoppers will find chartreuse green or orange appealing. There were a fair number of customers in the store, and there were three checkout stands open. It seemed to run efficiently. I did not see any customers jumping up and down, throwing shoes, or throwing tantrums, so I think the service was okay. While I was browsing, the alarm near the main entrance kept going off. You know, the alarm that tells everyone that you're going out the front door with some unpaid merchandise. I did not see any detectives chasing anyone, so I wasn't sure why the alarm kept sounding. Does this store have an abundance of shoplifters or are the cashiers simply forgetting to remove the merchandise tags? Oh well, I guess I'll never know. Wait--Upon reflection, I think I have an idea. I bet those alarms are *preventative.* That is, they are programmed to go off occasionally just to scare you--in case you're thinking of shoplifting. Seems like a pretty good idea to me, and I suppose you could get used to all the alarms going off. read more

I went bu since I found out that Burlington was open until 12:00 everyday. I thought it was perfect and came around 11:30 to try to get in and the doors were locked. Unsure why the hours are posted open until 12:00 when in reality the store locks it's doors 30 min earlier. This is helpful information for anyone who passes by and sees the official store hours, advise the store is not following them. read more

I needed to get a cheap pair of sunglasses so I stopped by Burlington in Dublin. Found a pair, but no price... they have maybe 20-25 pairs of glasses, I would estimate that 80% had no price...and I would say the one I picked had to be one of the least expensive. I asked a lady working the floor for a price and was told the checker can look up the price. So I stand in line and get to the checker who tells me they have no way of looking up prices... I asked if the manager was in to help me, and was directed to someone else... She identified herself as the store manager. So I explain I just want a price for the item I had... she said no problem and returns with some Name Brand glasses saying they would be the same price.... I asked how she could compare the name brand to the generic glasses I was asking about.. She didn't know. I asked for a district manager number and was told "Sure" she began writing on the back of a receipt and handed it to me, and stated this is the Store Manger, and she "might" be back next week, and included the store phone number. After telling me she was the store manager. The staff there are all on different pages, doing their own thing, no one knows how to do X Y or Z but there are corporate policies outlining ways to do things like get a price on a product. Large variety of clothing, home goods and everything in between. Set aside a good amount of time to walk through - lots of temptations so best to stick to a shopping list. Jeans, hair spray, dog bowls, curtains, small useful pieces of furniture... even a few good garden tools. The average shopper is likely to miss lots of what is available. I'm sure I missed a lot too - not claiming to be some sort of super shopper with super man vision. I suppose its good to take your time and move slowly and systematically through the store. Looked at all the pet supplies for Wrinkles. Classy stuff. Lots of dog mats, food bowls, dog shampoo. Even the dog bowl was above average as it was one that was a bit off the ground. Hey - wake up!! You and I don't eat off the floor. What makes you think Wolfie wants to? Its just as uncomfortable for you and I to eat that way. Clothing is obvious - Jackets and coats are the go - to but didn't even have a chance to take a look. Overwhelming almost is everything together. Furniture: Small end tables - one even with a built in electric and USB chargers. Storage ottoman - lots of small things to make every day a bit more convenient. A bit of a wait at the register. Since when do they have unspoken rules at stores!! If there are rules, it should be posted up!! My family and I will not be shopping at this Burlington and this was only my second visit. To make a long story short, my kids and I were told by an employee that we couldn't sit on the barstools we were testing out because I needed barstools for my house. There were no signs saying we couldn't sit on them but the lady insisted that that's their rule. I was so annoyed we put back all our stuffs we were going to buy and then went to ask for a manager to see about this rule. The manager says it's an Unspoken rule that they don't allow people to sit on the furniture. People are not mind readers so if there are rules, Post it!! I'll probably break up my review in several ways, because one of my experiences here left me pretty annoyed. Everything else in this store is absolutely perfect, from price to selection, and all things in between! I live about 15 miles away from this location, and I stopped by here to buy some clothes for my new job; a couple shirts, pants, etc. When I got home? The darker girl with the short brown hair left ALL THE SECURITY TAGS ON. I called, and the manager seemed disinterested, but asked who it was, and I told her. So that left me to my own devices to remove the stupid security tags myself, a hard feat if you don't want to risk ripping the clothes. A serious pain the rear and quite an unnecessary one at that! Other than that, I still love shopping here when I get the chance; they have a ton of designer purses and clothes for super cheap. Although some of the fabrics they use are pretty cheaply made, so after a few washes, it becomes very apparent that you bought said shirt for only $6-7. If you've shopped at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, or Ross, you know what to expect. It wasn't awful and sort of organized, but finding anything always seems to be a miracle with any of these sorts of stores. Walking in I always feel like the place is a mess because the women's accessories is the first section you see and it's usually a disaster. My husband love to shop here and he's found a lot of great things for himself and for the baby. I have found a few things here and there and I recently discovered they sell CK dresses and UCLA gear!!! If you're not aware, CK dresses are my kryptonite and I heart UCLA. I have been to this location a number of times. I would like to say that it's a hit or miss with the items. Some days you'll get lucky to find a good deal. However, you have to be careful to check the items thoroughly because it's either ripped or damaged, and even stained. Customer service isn't too great. Not sure where they find these people. I did have a couple good customer service experience from either Mike or Jarrel. I recently learned they are no longer there. I like that they have good work ethics, get their job done, and off you go. The other employees - I've noticed gossip a lot, do not care much that they have customers waiting in line. Not even an acknowledgement, or I'll be right with you. Real bad customer service from Alicia and an Ashley? They're managers and I have no idea how. read more

I liked this store but the employees aren't very helpful. You have to do all the work to locate what you need but then to wait I a ridiculously long line because only one cashier is willing to be at a register. I have always had great experience shopping at Burlington but not today. Today was one of the most horrible experiences of my life. The elderly staff at the women's fitting room was rude, cynical,unprofessional and unapologetic. We were shopping for a trip and that means taking a lot of clothes for our extended family members. I had nearly 20 pieces of clothing in the cart as I headed towards the fitting room. I saw the sign for 6 clothing and separated the items I wanted to try on. I waited for the staff for instructions on where to leave my cart while I went in to try. When I came back and asked her politely where to put the clothes I didn't want. She was fuming and was out right abusive. Make snark remarks like how it's bothering her and a waste of time. She even commented on how I should be picking one size clothing,etc etc. Basically ranting. I politely asked her that does she wasn't me to leave and she said to get lost and leave her alone in a very high pitch voice.!!! Needless to say I was too shocked to react and asked her to back off. My husband came and mentioned her how rude and insensitive she is being. She started playing the victim card implying that she was being helpful by giving suggestion and she is frustrated dealing with bad customers. I never got a sincere apology. I just want to say I honestly empathize with your stressful job but You DO NOT have the right to be this insensitive to anyone ever.I walked out without shopping and crying. The cashier Ebony has amazing customer service!!!There was a huge line and she was handling it all on her own, while the manger was just walking around. Not to mention the were only taking card bc they had no cash.. What kind of store has no cash around the holidays? This store is lucky to have her!! . Three and a half stars would be my preference, but it's closer to three than four, so there ya go. I thought I had been in this place before (I know I've visited the one at the Great Mall in Milpitas), but apparently not because I was shocked by the vastness of this store when I walked inside yesterday (after a recommendation from a friend who find good bargains here). I visited in April, so I didn't look at the coats. I found a lot of clothes I LIKED. But when I tried them on, almost everything didn't seem to fit right. A little too big here, a bit too tight there, etc. Sometimes that's a relief though, because then I don't have to decide what to get. I ended up with one pair of shorts after trying on about 10 things. It was the shoe department where my friend found her sweet, sweet deals, so I headed there next. I found one pair (Kenneth Cole Reaction) that I was pretty jazzed about, but then just before I put them back in the box, I noticed this weird gunky smudge on the shiny, fake patent leather and it didn't seem to be coming off. Alas, that was the only pair in my size. There were other shoes I liked on the shelf, but wasn't crazy about the look on my feet or the comfort. Most shoes seemed to be between $15-25, though, which is cool. In general, if I spend more than $30 on a pair of shoes, it means I can't live without them. I had to check out the upstairs (yes! upstairs!) and found some cozy, goodly priced pillows in the relatively small home department, but passed 'em up. I did pick up a cute onesie for a friend's baby. Big kids selection. All in all, I spent a long hour-and-a-half inside this store, and ended up with three purchases (the last one being a pair of mod-ish Playboy-brand sunglasses that caught my eye near the checkout). Despite my small number of purchases (compared to the time spent), I will probably return here because the prices are so darn good. I feel like they were even better than (or at least on par with) TJ Maxx and those other similar stores. read more

Don't go in that store!!! I was shopping and tried on a few items, didn't fit so I put back the items on their return rack. After purchasing my pair of sunglasses that i needed, i get the security guard stopping me when I was leaving, accusing me of stealing. Apparently, there are a lot of shoplifting going on at that store so the fitting room attendant and security personnel randomly and wrongfully accusing people of stealing. I demanded to see a Manager because this is totally not acceptable. If the fitting room attendants were doing their jobs of counting the pieces going in and out, there would be less theft in the store. Instead, they are gossiping on the sales floor and wrongfully accusing customers of stealing. I have filed a complaint with their District Manager. If I don't get a written response from them, I will have my lawyer file a lawsuit against them. Poorly managed store and I will never shop there again. I hope this will shake up the Management on top because their bottom line ultimately suffers. read more

'Coat Factory' is such a misnomer. I saw everything but a coat factory or even a coat on my last visit. What I did see was a store 'bursting at the seams' with stuff. Every kind of stuff including purses, shoes, lingerie, home accessories, toys, Christmas decorations, and a mini babies r us upstairs. You should be able to find something here but you may not want to buy because the lines are always long and move slowly. read more

This is a big store, 2 level to be exact. I came here for the sole purpose of checking out their baby section but to my dismay, I was very disappointed. I was expecting to see a well stocked, clean and organized baby section just like I have seen in some other stores they have. This store's baby section was very lacking, messy and disappointing. The store was clean and maintained, but not perfect. I finally found something I wanted. I got to the registers, there are 6+, and found a long line and one cashier. It's possible to find good deals, and it's well organized, but sizes are limited. There will be bunch of 8 and 14s of one dress and then all 12s of another. I couldn't find many 4 or 6 of anything, dress, skirts or pants. I do like the jewelry, lots of cheap fun stuff. The dressing room lady only let me take in 7 garments, but she disappeared pretty quickly and I took in what I wanted. I find more at marshalls and Ross, but the dress selection is worth an occasional look with brands like Calvin Klein and nine west. read more

Two and a half stars. While there were some sections of the store that were tidy and pleasant to browse like purses blouses and clothes other sections looked like zombies had gone through it like the wallet section and bath / cosmetics. I don't really understand the layout of clothes , you find coats in size 8 in one area and then coats in small in another. But the biggest gripe is not enough staff. The wait was long . There was an older lady with glasses who was very efficient , zipping through customers with a pleasant demeanor while a young man was still on one customer , commenting on each individual item she had purchased. The young man even said , " yeah I know I am slow." While the phone was ringing and ring RIGHT BY HIM. The manager came up to the front and told him to get the phone while she helped up at the front. I just can't stand to see people who take their jobs for granted like this young man was. Not really caring that his own customer was annoyed by him. read more

In general, bargain shopping is not my cup of tea. It often warrants FAR more searching than I even begin to have the patience for. Burlington is no exception...until you go to their shoe department. I'm 5'8" and have ridiculously large feet for my height (we're not talking size 13 here or anything, just larger than average) Anyway, point is, BCF has a good selection of shoes that actually fit without me having to hack my feet off at the end of the night. And on top of that, their jacket selection / prices really are pretty great (surprised?). Anyway, I suggest it for shoes, coats, and on rare occasions, accessories. read more

I was in Dublin store yesterday in the morning and I met the worst employee ever. I don't know her name, but she was so rude, inpatient and totally unprofessional. I am glad finally the manager had to interfere to calm the situation. Burlington people you should chose your employees wisely, especially when they have to deal with customers. It doesn't matter if you were understaffed or whatever reason, if someone behaves like this, there should be a corrective action! OMG, their purses will make you broke, not because they break the bank but because they have such good deals! Steve Madden deals like there is no tomorrow. He's my go-to after Michael Kors ;) I've bought two purses here within the last 7 months, sure it may not seem like alot but for me, it is. Believe me. The deals are just too good to resist.
