I came here to return a dress that I bought from another location. The return line is the same line as purchase line. I waited for about 10 min before I was serviced. Afterwards, I went to look for a hair dryer for my son, not many selections. Mostly Revlon and pink color. There was only one white. My son wanted cool air setting, none of it offer it. This was my first visit to this store. While standing in line, I heard the cashier ask everyone to remove hangers if they were purchasing clothes. When it was my turn, she didn't greet me and simply asked if I needed a bag. The customer ahead of me, who was still at the counter, politely suggested that the cashier should work on her customer service skills. The cashier responded, "Well, she's the only one who complained." I told her that it was not okay to speak to customers that way and that she shouldn't ask customers to remove hangers. The cashier ignored me. Afterward, the customer ahead of me asked for the store manager. I bought a $30 gift card for a Christmas Gift on 12/19/25 from the Ross Dress for Less website (which says its headquarters is in Dublin, CA). As of 01/16/26 I have still not received it. I lodged a query on the Ross website. Some time later I got a response telling me how to purchase a card on their website (!). I replied that this did not address my concern. No answer. I lodged another complaint on the website and pasted in my confirmation number, screenshots of the emails and receipt of purchase. I have never received an answer. I work close by and as a single mom it's really hard to find time to go Christmas shopping. I thought it was a good idea to go here during my lunch break. I zoom through the store and was lucky enough to find exactly what I was looking for only to see not enough registers open for the amount of people so I asked if I could leave my things for lay away. They directed me into the fitting room. When I got there. There was no one there. I called out for an attendant a couple times, and no one came another gentleman shopper That was there said he did the same thing before me and no one came. I went back to the front register and asked if I could just leave my things there because I did not have time to purchase them, and I couldn't be late Getting back to work, but I didn't want to Miss out on all of the things I found for my child. Sure enough. The lady at the register said "no said there was someone in the fitting room. Told me to go back to the fitting room." To go look again. I told her i just did that and I told her I didn't have time to go Back and forth again. All she did was say something on her little headset, and say there's someone there, as if she walked back there and saw that there was someone there when indeed there was no one in the fitting room. I've been a Ross shopper for years. I love the selection and the value fur your money that Ross stores offers. I shop the most at the one in Dublin, CA and I've always found the employees to be very friendly. However, there is one person whose mannerism prompted me to submit this review, and not in a favourable way. The person I am referring to is the fitting room clerk. She absolutely will NOT greet you, nor does she say a word. If you ask her a question, she's very rude. I've noticed, however, that her demeanour does a complete 180 whenever she's helping people of Indian descent. She herself appears to be of that culture and she's always very friendly to them, and rude or silent with others. Not acceptable!! There's enough stride and hatred in this world because of race/cultural backgrounds, without someone like her giving substandard service to anyone that's not her kind. I didn't see her name tag, but she's there right now (3:45 West coast time). The only reason I gave this review 4 stars is because I do like shopping here. I would give this woman zero stars on her poor customer service skills. If she dislikes other cultures that much, maybe she should consider working in the stockroom. do not go there if you wish to get help with anything. I work in the area, but live 30 minutes away, and it was told I could not return there. I had to go return at the original location to which I found out was wrong, but I asked and confirmed at the location near my home. The two women that were working noon time on Saturday, September 7th 2024 at the register and the greeting area need to be reevaluated very closely again for I was not given any explanation. I was just told to go to the same location and try returning there. They were very unhelpful. do not go to the store and please get those two women out from that store or they are completely wrong. There's only 2 cashier's while tons of people pushing carts and putting stuff away. One young girl stood at the register putting on a tag to some bed sheets for for over 15mins. This particular store has lots of furniture. Chairs and small side tables. I spotted some chairs that looked good and were comfortable but because I had my electric car I didn't buy them. I went back the next day with my SUV and it seemed as if everything was still there except the two chairs that I would have been happy with. Prices here are good and there is no big surprise that something sells within 24 hours.... but the customer service here is great. I spoke with a young lady about when new shipments come in and she even told me that they would have held the chairs for a short time for me to grab my SUV or truck. Very good customer service. Very good selection here and much cheaper than what you would get at Home Goods. Just today I paid a little more to get something similar at Home Goods but I think they might be a bit more sturdy but equally as comfortable. In conclusion places like Ross are all about fashion. Clothing and furniture might not last forever but it will last long enough until the next trend comes about. read more

The employees are friendly, hence the 4* rating. There aren't many dresses at this location. It doesn't seem like there is a lot of any category. I've found some really high end skincare here. That's was exciting. I haven't tried Marshall's next door yet. I'm curious to how it compares. I think everything in Pleasanton is expensive so everyone is looking for a deal. This Ross seemed picked over. Oh I forgot! I found new butterfly car seat covers for $11 for 2! Crazy deal. I think. They are almost $20 per seat cover at auto zone. I am giving the 5 stars this store and its staff fully deserve. They do their job and they do it well. The policy of the store is quite minimalist compared to other Ross stores meaning less chaos but quite empty shelves for sure. I went early in the morning. The ample parking is a breeze , the changing room lady did her demanding job to the T. For those who find them rude , I witnessed people being rude, arrogant, overbearing, patronizing to her for the best of half an our whist my tweenager was trying groups of 8 garnements at a time. So yes, true she has not the biggest Disney Store smile on the planet but one kind world and she was there. Prices are really incredibly reasonable. Today it was more of a miss, but I did get to find a Swiss Gear duffel bag for only $18! Used to cost $50 so not too shabby. This Ross is a little better in terms of cleanliness and organization. Shoe selection was a bit low considering it's "Shoe month." Perhaps I came just before they're planning on restocking the shelves. Oh well. Why is this Ross so much better than the one in Livermore? I came by here today with a friend and we were basically looking for cute, cheap and possibly clearance items. We found quite a few things to look at. One thing I like is that each department here has VAST selection; I enjoyed looking at their homegoods stuff since I'll be moving soon. It's nice to get an idea of what I need. Shoes are cute, purses are cheap and occasionally adorable. They carry A LOT of Betsey Johnson, which I like since Betsey is my main brand lol. I initially mis-remembered this place as the Marshall's right next door. How confusing is that? Nice thing about it, if you don't find what you want at one place just walk right next door. My grandma came and I grabbed my grandma's ID to show the lady to get the senior Tuesday discount. Then I used my card that I had just used my own transaction prior. I come here occasionally, there's is a Marshall's 2 doors down which I go often. If this store wasn't so poor in every way, I'd go here way more often. It's seems like almost every time I go, I end up regretting it- even if I buy stuff. Ironically, when you buy things here, when you actually spend money, you have your worst experience- - old, kinda dumpy store, depressing to say the least - mediocre inventory, sometimes hard to find something to buy even when you are in the mood to - never enough cashiers, you can have 10-15+ people in line, plus 3-4 people in the returns line - and 2 cashiers... then 3-4 other employees up front doing nothing to help process people through Ross Stores- you're not even trying here, you clearly don't care about your customers and their valuable time- its of no value to you. You know how you have an item without a price tag, so you grab the same item in a different size with the price tag to be helpful at the checkout. Yeah, well here's how it played out. I've never had a bad experience here. The selection here has always been good, and I've been able to find a number of great buys-especially on household items. Regarding the woman's comment below about it being illegal for different prices for what appears to be the same item. It's not. Ross prices its items based on the date it comes in, and then reduces the prices as time passes. I often see the same items marked at two prices, and it's due to different shipments. I can see how this is confusing to people who don't know better, but frankly it seems like you were the one with the attitude. Just sayin'. read more
