When we moved from…read moreBoston area, great health care, to rural southwest Virginia we were prepared to travel for good health care and chose Kernodle, Dr. Johnston, for reasons I don't recall. He did strike us a bit as a sleepy sort, but we mainly use specialty care and thought our need for him would be very limited. Well, we both sufferred health setbacks and found Kernodle Internal medicine very slow and sloppy about managing our care. I didn't try to hide my frustration. My husband is an 88 year old stroke survivor, so I have to speak for us both. Just as we decided to seek care elsewhere, Kernodle dismissed us as patients. Clearly they cannot cope with complex medical conditions, so unless you're young and healthy, don't waste your time there. They actually strike me as so poorly run that their affiliation with Duke will surely damage that elite institution.

His…read moreoffice is so convenient to Elon and its students, and it's incredibly easy to find (always a plus when you're directionally-challenged). His nurse is incredibly friendly and efficient. He's also very careful to not overstep his boundaries. He'll perform pap smears and other lady things that I've found some men won't do, but he's also quick to say when he isn't sure about something, in which case he'll refer you to a gynecologist. He'll even call and set up the appointment for you. Because he has awesome doctor powers I can usually see a gyno the next day. My only bad experience with him was with an intern he was training. I'm usually okay with interns because they need to learn, however this female was a terror. Not only did she brush aside every concern I had (I make detailed lists when I go in), but she also had the gall to tell me that one of my pains was minor and chastised me for complaining when other people went through "real pain." So when the doctor came in, even though I thought I was fine (why should I doubt the intern?), he still insisted on checking everything out. Thank goodness he did because that pain was internal bleeding and I needed surgery. I could tell he was pissed at this intern for blowing me off (unfortunately he didn't hear some of her other comments), but I really would have liked to see him chastise her. I understand that he had to be professional though. So to sum up: Awesome doctor. but strongly consider refusing when they ask if you'll see the intern.

I feel very violated and if I didn't need to be seen ASAP I would have just walk out. I had Dr. Shah as my physician he was fine did his exam and went off his way. Most of my complaint is with the staffs front desk clerk . I just can't wrap my head around that they can speak about a patients care so openly. If I can hear them from the room I won't be surprise if anyone else heard. I work at the hospital and my right as a patient so this was HIPPA violation.If you are looking for good and caring care this is not the place .I just have to say if people hate their job so much they should find another career. The receptionist here even tried to get me to disclose details about my health over the phone without confirming my identity and if you've been a patient here before the year 2022 they do NOT have any of your records before the year. They switched to a new system and don't even have access to the data which is a MAJOR HIPPA VIOLATION. This practice is a decade behind in tech and I wouldn't recommend my dog be treated by these people.

She has managed to pick up where my old doctor left off and makes me feel comfortable and well cared for. They have always been very thorough with my medical needs and helped me through everything. My dad was transferred from the can er center to the ER around 4pm, gave a sheet to cover up with,…read more4 bags of saline, 3 bags of antibiotics. Doctor told him he would be moved to a room upstairs and almost 10 hrs later we're still in the ER. The on-call doctor comes in at 1am and says technically he's in a bed in a er room so he won't be moved. I woke my dad asked if he wanted to stay or leave. He said "discharge me". They tried to give more excuses and telling us UNC didn't have a bed for him. Don't EVER bring your loved one here for any treatment. Lazy nurses that halfway do their jobs. Another sorry Cone facility. Shut it down!​

I believe each of the 4 Doctors at this office are very good but Dr. Tullo is my personal Doctor and I hope she never leaves. I have always wanted to have a doctor that listened to my concerns and understood my fear of medical procedures, and I have found my Doctor!..she is the one for me!!! I have been under her care for over a year and I am so happy with her excellent work. One example is how she listened to me talk about my dislike of the sun and decided to test my vitamin D... I was far below the healthy range. Low vitamin D is linked to cancer, heart disease and poor bone health....but with some mega doses of the vitamin Dr. Tullo made sure those are not my problems. If you have not found any 'care' in your medical care then contact this office.
