I think it's important to note that when you go in here, you're not gonna find really cheap prices. The prices are still up there. They're just a little bit less than you will find in the actually Nordstrom store and/or Nordstrom online. For me, the main reason I like Nordstrom Rack is their selection of shoes. They have a really big selection of shoes, particularly tennis shoes. They truly have a large amount of all of the name brands. And again, at semi discounted price prices. They're not cheap, but they are below what you would have to pay at the regular Nordstrom stores or most other sporting goods retailers. In terms of clothing, they have a lot of it. They have both a large selection of men and women's clothing. It's truly a vast amount. I don't usually find clothes that catch my eye at this store, but my wife always seems to find something. So, that may let you know of the mindset of the people who shop here. For men, they have a nice selection of suits, sport coats, slacks, and dress shirts. But, they're not exceptionally good deals. Personally, I prefer to go into a shop that is more devoted to those things when I buy such items. For my wife, however, she commonly finds nice dresses, tops, and also, shoes. She too, is a big fan of their shoe department. The one thing I will say is that if you want to get a nice pair of Doc Martens, this is a great place to buy them. They seem to discount Doc Martin's more than they do their other name brand shoes. This is just something to think about. Overall, if you want some high-end clothing, and/or shoes, and/or jewelry, and/or a little bit of anything else that Norstrom offers, this is a good place to purchase it.

I went to the dressing room and the attendant asking me how many items I had, I told them, and they stopped and made me let them count and leave the pack of socks I was carrying on the counter. Someone else took the socks while I was in the room. Next, I wanted some cologne. Took awhile to find someone to open the lock box where they keep it, and they looked at me like I wasn't making sense when I asked for cologne. When I tried to carry it up to go check out, they snatched it out of my hand and carried it straight to the register. Just a bit odd to treat paying customers like they're expecting you to rob them. It will probably make me stick to ordering from the online store in the future.

We had multiple people assisting us and had a very successful shopping trip due to the great selection. Major shoutout to the woman in the intimates department for exceptional customer service. There's a reason people shop here. Yes, it's more expensive, and you could argue that the quality…read moreis better than other choices in town. But really about the service. I obsessively went here to look at shoes for myself, but as is often in the case, I park in the back through the Men's department, so I go through the Men's department and lots of lovely things. Very lovely presentation not a lot of sale which surprise me for January, considering it's end of season, but there were some things and they were still kind of expensive so I took a pass on that and adjacent to the Men's department. Is the kids department specifically the baby department and my son has a brand new baby. So I toggle in because nothing is better shopping than shopping for your grandbaby who is adorable and just turned a month old so I get in there and you know it's not cheap. You know it's pricey, but there's features there. Better quality materials better better things you know and here's the thing here's why you really shopped there the service it's all about the service. I was helped by a woman. Her name is Linda. She was covering from the women's department also the babies department or kids and she approached me and she greeted me with warmth and care and she offered me help if I needed it I've made conversation with her. She ended up understanding who I was shopping for what I was shopping for and why I was shopping. I cannot tell you the level of difference in service between Von Maur, and Macy's . Linda was the reason I bought she gave me an experience! And at the end of the day, isn't that really part of what we're doing when we shop it's part of the experience and I will go back there to buy more from that department you know maybe I won't be the biggest shopper the store has ever seen, but I will shop there and I will spend my money there for things that I see value in and that's exciting because you don't see that anymore. Additionally, I did also get my package gift wrapped and the ladies and the gift wrap department were super sweet. The one girl's name was Alexandria and she was just lovely. I also briefly met. I believe a manager it was a younger woman and she was lovely and she really the thing I liked about her was I was talking to Linda. She she smiled and she piped up a little bit, but she really let Linda shine. She was not there to overshadow her and and that is so important that's what leadership looks like in a retail space so congratulations to Von Maur as they have the service thing down, I only concern is things are a little pricey there and you know how can that be sustained in our current economy? I wish them luck, but yeah if you want to have a great experience and buy some nicer things go there.

A couple years this JCP was on a hot streak for me and I was constantly finding inexpensive things I loved and stopping in probably monthly. Trends have changed and I no longer live near the mall so I'm not in as often, but when I do stop it's a pleasant enough experience. The layout has been slightly rearranged recently, shrinking their dress section quite a bit. I used to be able to find some great items but the selection has been at least halved. I also had an issue recently with none of their purses having price tags. There were sale signs up showing the discounts, but I had no idea what was what. I had to take an armful of bags up to the cashier and have them scan them. Not ideal, but this location is still preferable to me over the east side - it just seems to be brighter and in better shape.

I passed on those and found the perfect pair on sale at Kohl's for just $29! I picked up some sports t-shirts for $19, too. So much cheaper than Dick's. The lady at the self check-out was helpful and friendly.

My husband and kids got me several maternity dresses from Kohls for Mother's Day 2025. Because I…read moream eleventy-million weeks pregnant, the dresses were all about a size too small to accommodate my growing belly--so I took all three dresses back to Kohls just a couple of days later in hopes to exchange them for store credit so that I could size up. As they were a gift, I did not have the card that was used to purchase the items, nor did I have a receipt. I figured it would be ok because the dresses still had all their tags on, they were purchased mere days prior, clearly had never been worn, and I was simply requesting store credit (not cash or anything). So, I hauled my giant, tired, pregnant self over to Kohls with my toddler in tow just to exchange these damn dresses. I was asked to give a phone number, email, and my state-issued drivers license. I freely gave this information. Then, the woman working there told me that without a receipt, they could only issue half-store credit. So, if I wanted to return the dresses, valued at around $100 for all three, for store credit, I would only get $50 store credit. Engage internal Karen mode. I ended up calmly and quietly just saying, " ok, I'll go home and find the receipt and bring them back for a full refund"...which I fully intend to do, this evening. And then, instead of keeping my money within that same store via store credit/exchange as I initially intended, I will walk out, spend the entire amount elsewhere, and probably never go to Kohl's again, as the vibe, price point, and shockingly worsening customer service leave so much to be desired. I understand that there could be a situation in which someone steals clothing, leaves the tags on, and then tries to return the items for cash....that probably happens all the time. I am sure this policy is an attempt to address that. However, it seems misapplied and misguided to use this policy against someone who is trying to exchange recently purchased, brand new, items for store credit. (Especially when the customer doing so gladly presents their government-issued photo ID and it is a couple of days after a national gift-giving holiday) Now though, I have to go through the hassle of going to Kohls all over again, taking another hour out of my day, in order to rectify something that should already have been fixed in like 5 minutes. And now, instead of just keeping my money within the store, I am taking it all elsewhere. Seems like a really stupid policy. I get that we live in a low-trust society, where theft is rampant. Despite this, I still don't have to patronize businesses that default treat all their customers with suspicion. For years, the selection and prices at Kohls had been mid, at best. The main reason to go to Kohls was always that they had great customer service and a stellar return policy. If that's no longer the case, and it seems to be, then I have no reason to go. Also, Kohls cash is now excluded for any sort of "premium" brands that they carry (Nike, Sephora, etc) so that sucks too. I see Kohls going the way of Sears...once they piss off the Midwestern moms and grandmas, their core clientele, the end is near.
