What a great concept and even better that it's a woman-owned business! They're particular about what they take in, but I appreciate that they prefer the best of the best for their customers. Their organizational standards are excellent, and the team is always willing to help with smiles on their faces. I know I have choices in how I choose to sell items from my wardrobe, but I often choose to sell to Style Encore because of the simplicity of the process and the end customer that I know will appreciate what they buy. This place is biased as s$€#! Staff for the most part are courteous, however they pick and choose who they buy from. It's truly not about what you're selling. I suggest the owners do a secret shopper here to audit the business. I do not recommend selling nor buying here. Sorry, but the value for your hard earned money is NOT worth it. I have recommended Style Encore in the past, but I have to say that 1) Their clothing selection, which is supposedly fashions no more than two years old, is a joke. I have seen really worn/outdated items there repeatedly. Personally, I don't get their two-year cutoff for clothing. They sell a lot of very used items that aren't nice-looking at all (and should be lower priced at St Vinnie's or Goodwill) but refuse to look at mint clothing over that two-year mark. While I was shopping there yesterday in Madison, AL I overheard two of the employees saying quite loudly how they hated when customers "messed up their racks" as they were straightening them (while blocking customers that were trying to shop). Went into sale some name brand purses Kate spade coach Michael Kors (3 totes worth) as well with some clothes and shoes. I understand they have to be particular when purchasing they of course didn't want 90% of what I had, and half of what's on there walls are what I have to sale them, but why I writing this 2 star review is because when they put my stuff back into my totes they threw things in and I top of everything else such as shoes shoes with my coach purse and they didn't bother refolding anything back. read more

If you are willing to get garage sale $ for your perfectly nice and barely worn name brand clothing/ accessories/ shoes/ jewelry, this is the place to go. The more expensive the brand/ designer the better, you made it to the VIP CLub!!! WooT! This seems to be the initial drive of this business. However, while waiting and looking at the things they sell, it is not that special. Many items you could get at thrift stores and resale shops for much less. Make sure you look at what is bought from you right there and then, before accepting their offer, to be clear you want a dollar or two for your stuff. Unless you ASK you are not really shown clearly (eg. little stuff you cannot see in a deep huge bin!) nor offered a receipt of what is taken. Although they say it is entirely up to you if you want to accept their offer......you DO need to be assertive like a shark, ask for a break down receipt, grab your stuff back which might look better on your auntie as a gift to her, before you say YES! Overall they are friendly, no doubt, however, the person who looked at my things exuded a very mighty attitude ~ "I have chosen the worthy things and I give you little money". Additionally, she threw all my previously carefully folded and sorted items back into my basket like waving her hands in the air, like she did not care. The least you could do is care just a little, even if you do not want them! EW! I want to brush my teeth! I left thinking I would rather support a small business resale shop, than feel like I was lucky a couple of things of mine were taken for little money. I recommend to go and shop at local thrift stores or small business resale shops. If you want to sell your things, sell them online or at your own garage sale! Ok so I have been to this store twice in a row now and both times I've gone to drop things off and they tell me 10-15 mins (mind you most if not all my items are name brand or designer) , make me wait 30 and then don't take any of my clothes. They also had me sit and wait and they forgot that I was there waiting for them to checkout what I brought in, and they hurriedly told me that there were weird things wrong with my items and they couldn't take them THE PILE WAS STILL FOLDED THE WAY I BROUGHT THEM IN they literally didn't even look at my things. What a waste of time. They say the same standard stuff "general wear and tear" and "hard to sell styles" a few of my pieces had tags still on them that I bought online from American eagle and Hollister during quarantine.... others I have only worn a couple of times and definitely bought within the last year. Took 3 things including a pair of heals I wore once and offered $11.60. I looked around the store while I was waiting and most of the clothes were in worse condition than mine... if you have too many clothes right now and aren't buying just say so! read more

I just stopped in tonight for the first time, with the intention of possibly selling some items. As I waited, I walked the store, and I thought they had a good variety of items and brands. It was easy to peruse things by type and by size. The items were clean, hung neatly, and usually priced in a way that I could see quickly and easily. "Katie" -- the staff member who priced the items I brought in -- was great to work with. She explained the process clearly, was friendly, and accommodated me even though I stopped in just before closing. Based on price, I'm still deciding whether to "consign" with them so I kept my items ... yet I was still treated respectfully and with a smile! Good customer service! read more

Style Encore is my absolute favorite place for business casual and athletic wear. I clean my closet out, bring items in to sell, and usually leave breaking even with the new items I purchase! The ladies are super helpful and friendly and I always feel welcome in store. Great store with cute clothes. Definitely purchased quite a few items. Just a bit disappointed with one of my purchases I made. There was a $55 price tag on a Dooney and Bourke bag which is why I was excited to purchase it and I was charged $85 . Spoke to an associate and sadly wasn't able to get the bag for $55. I honestly felt like I got scammed cause the $55 price tag was written in huge numbers...don't know how they couldn't have caught that mistake earlier especially when they ringed me up for my purchases. Other than that loved the other items I purchased. Definitely going back when I go visit Wisconsin. read more

There's a lot to like about Style Encore. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the entire store is organized and it's easy to find what you're looking for (instead of digging and searching at other resale shops). They offer a great selection of all types of clothes, shoes and accessories. I agree with the first reviewer - the prices do seem a touch high; $50+ for used designer jeans is steep in my opinion, but they do offer clearance sales throughout the year. read more

I haven't sold here, only shopped. Style Encore is for people who enjoyed Plato's Closet as a teen but now have professional careers. There are a lot of brands here aimed at the young working professional (i.e. J.Crew, LOFT, Banana Republic, etc) and it's a great place to shop to fill out your work wardrobe. The store is very clean and well organized. I only wish they had a bigger selection of blazers. read more

I consigned several pieces of clothing at this store. Employee was knowledgeable and friendly. They only took 6 of my 12 pieces but at least I got something for them rather than dropping them at Goodwill for nothing. I looked around a little bit and felt the prices were high for second hand clothing. I might drop off more clothes for consignment in the future. read more

I was greatly disappointed with my experience involving Style Encore today. When dropping off the items, the cashier wasn't very friendly and gave us no direction on how the store worked. When signing up for an account, I was told I would receive a text message in about three hours indicating that they had finished looking through my items. To start, I feel that this long of a wait time is ridiculous given that I only dropped off two bags worth of items. Also, I never received the message. I had to call the store to ask when I could come pick up my items since they had same day pick up and it was fifteen minutes before they closed. The lady said that I could just come whenever which is not what I was told originally. When arriving at the store, I was told they wanted to purchase three very expensive items from me but I was only offered $11.85 for all three of them. In the end, I feel this store didn't meet my expectations and overall I was just very upset with how today's drop off went. read more
