Went there today Dec 31, 2018 and found the place in chaos. There was stuff lying all over the floor in several sections. This location seems to be totally mismanaged and the employees who work there could not care less, it seems. read more

This place is totally trashy, disorganized and the customer service is non-existent. I tried shopping here because it is the closest retail store to my home but the store is just too depressing for me. A lot of the clothes are not in any particular order i.e. sizes, etc.,many are on the floor until someone eventually hangs them back on the racks(albeit haphazardly). Plus, there is never any employees around to help, even in the dressing rooms. Several items that I picked up were damaged, belts missing,etc. Much of the merchandise is old and dirty! Also, management here is very rude which is probably why the store is in the shape that it is in. Now, I shop at Macy's in Hilltop because the quality of the merchandise is much, much better and customer service is tops. read more

Can you say G-H-E-T-T-O? that's what I call store clerks who yell at each other from across the store and complain about their jobs outloud. I did have high hopes for this place but for some apparent reason, I already knew the outcome before they even opened the doors. Hmm go figure. The shoe area is a hot mess. I guess they didn't do recovery last night because this store is trashed! It's also clear that the need to unpack the shipment because it was boxes and baskets full of items everywhere smh I found 3 items in the store that I will probably return because of the lack of customer service. The older African American cashier wasn't very talkative at all she didn't ask anything about my shopping experience. The proceeded to answer the phone and I'm assuming one of her co workers was on the phone because they were talking as if they were at home on the phone. The only thing I got out of her was a thank you. I worked for this company many moons ago and it's said that they don't have anyone that has great customer service skills. Nobody works here! I went to get my sister something from her baby registry and it took a long ass time to even FIND somebody to help me! When I finally did she said she would be right back and I waited another forever and a half only for her to be just as incompetent as everybody else and ultimately tell me the system is down. read more

Came here at 10:30am and the store is not open. Waited for 15 min and it is still not open. Store hrs says it opens at 10am but damn no ones here. Hella ghetto and I see lazy ass workers waiting in their car. read more

I hope they fix the AC in this place! It's blistering hot in here! The store is quiet large, but there isn't really anything good! The tops are all polyester and quiet dated. There aren't any jackets really. Their dress section is really pathetic! Wish they would get better stuff! Also, the home section seems like its been hit by a huricane! We shop here often. They have good choice for men's clothing and you can find quality dress pants for very reasonable prices. We bought baby clothes from here and we been happy with our purchases. Only thing we hate is there is no line for check out. People often get confused and make their own line as they desire. It shouldn't be too hard to put a sign saying "line starts here". read more

I was in the store during my lunch break, I paid to get my lay a way off, plus bought another $50 worth of merchandise, one of the items apparently did not make it in the bag....when I got home, and began wrapping gifts I noticed one of my items was not in the bag! I called the store, told them this same story, they told me to bring ALL my items back WITH the receipt! I told that girl I've wrapped most of the gifts already, I'm not unwrapping and then dragging $200 worth of merchandise back down to that store that I live almost an hour away from!!! I told her what line I was in AND exactly what item it was! I still didn't get any help, I asked for a manager, she said she was a supervisor, I again said I would like to speak with a MANAGER! She them started stumbling her words saying she was on break! Customer Service At it's WORSE! All it takes is one time for me to receive bad customer service! I will NOT shop there again and I will tell my friends and family as well!!! So at the end of the call...No Resolve...I get a "call back tomorrow so they could run the tape!" WTH?!!!! I went there today and loaded my buggy with 150.00 worth of merchandise. When I got to the register it was clear. I rolled up and the cashier says, you have to get out of line they were next. And she pointed over to the next line where there were four ppl standing there having a conversation and in no way ready to check out. So I say to her, WHAT LINE? this one was empty when I walked up and they are talking and i am ready now. She continued to argue. In the time it took her to turn me away she could have checked me out and been on her way to the next guest. Instead she turned me off, thought she was going to skate with publicly SCOLDING ME?!?!?! Ha, one of us got schooled and it was NOT me. Rude to customers. The dress racks were bare and the selection was not good. The shoe dept was in complete SHAMBLES. The bathroom needed cleaning. Three stalls needed flushing. Did I mention RuDe to customers??? Next time I'll take my money to Ross. read more

This place is a total hit or miss. I've had good and bad experiences here. But there's not much that will keep me away. Seeing that I tend to stay in my own lane. Also the fact that there isn't much retail shopping to choose from in the West Contra Costa area. Hilltop Mall is non existent. I usually score nice handbags and jewelry accessories for an unbeatable price. Now it's not Macy's quality- but your also not paying Macy's price. Take care of your things and they will last. My biggest pet peeve about this store is they're always changing the layout of the store. So it can be a bit confusing. The worst move by far is the remodel they did on their shoes department. Or should I say downgrade on the shoe department. The racks that they swapped for the wooden shelves they used to have are TACKY, cheap, unorganized, and messy. It seems as if there is even less shoes to choose from. If you do find a shoe you like good luck finding it in your size. Point being bring back the shelves of shoes- the more organized way! read more

When this place first opened up, it was great. Things were placed nicely on their racks and shelves, you didn't find shoe boxes ripped and beat up on the floor, the employees were way more helpful (probably because they weren't real employees, they just came to help during the opening of the store). Now it's trashy, things ripped off their shelves, clothes fallen off the racks, beat up merchandise all over the place. Most of the employees are lazy and rude. They sure take their sweet time ringing you up at the cash register when there's always a line. One experience I had was being in line with a couple who had a little boy who was taking apart the beads on a bunch of bracelets, dropping them all over the floor while his parents did nothing but watch him, and same with the cashier. The cashier said nothing to the boy or his parents. It was extremely annoying. However, I am sure these employees are poorly paid and have no motivation because of it, and they do work in the Richmond area and probably deal with the most terrible customers you can imagine. Other than that, the deals are decent, it's hit and miss for me, I still prefer Ross. read more

What's up with the women's restroom. I've been to this store about 5 times in the past 6 months. When I go to the ladies restroom the bathrooms is always a mess. The faucets are not attached to the counter tops. There is never paper towels to dry your hands and the hand blower to dry your hand never works. I already was hesitate to even come here because they never have anything I want half the time but because of the reasonable prices I still come. Long story short I came here to buy business attire clothes which they seemed to be low on. Second the customer services was freaking horrible. Like what ever happen to training our employees??? First the long was way long with only one cashier open. They kept calling for other people to come from the back but they never came! The manager didn't want to ring anybody up but then finally to decided to ring only regular customers up and repeated over again that she doesn't do layaway which basically had me waiting for heck a long because nobody from the back wanting to come open a register. How I almost left my basket there in the middle of the floor. Until finally someone comes and rings me up. And now this employee had a very sarcastic maybe sense of humor type attitude.. Which I wasnt too much up for that. But with me and my sense of humor I played it off but if that was anybody else I think they would have just walked out. Absolutely amazing service! We were having issues with a return and as soon as a manager saw that we were having issues she quickly stepped in and helped us with the return and made things very easy for us. She completed the return and made us very happy! I highly recommend this Burlington and would say this was the best Burlington location I had ever been to! Thanks again! read more

the men's collection @ hilltop macy's is way better

This review is solely on their Baby Depot section, in which I fully enjoyed yesterday. At ~5mo pregnant, I was starting to feel really moody. Nothing fit right and I basically rotated the same 4 outfits because I had already bought some items from Macys/Gap and didn't want to spend that much more money on clothes.. maternity clothes are $$! My husband and I were actually at Target and decided, "hey, why not, let's stop into BCF".. We don't normally come here and this was our 2nd time since it's been open. At first glance, I didn't see a Maternity section, but towards the back of the store, lo and behold, there it was! It's not a huge selection, mind you. But, I was surprised to see they had shirts from Destination Maternity and Motherhood Maternity! And for ~$8/pp! I had a field day. The pants section wasn't great and I recommended always trying things on just to be sure as depending on the fabric, etc., the sizing can be a little off. But. I was able to purchase a few tops and also saw that they have comfortable nursing bras for literally 1/2 the $ of what I paid at Macy's. There was also a changing table reduced to $59- Chablis-wood, sturdy and has a drawer as well. We saw some similar ones next door at BRU for over $130. Needless to say, I was quite the pleased preggo yesterday afternoon. read more
