This was genuinely one of the worst shopping experiences I've had at Burlington. Instead of modernizing the store, they hired security guards who recite scripts about "limited re-entries" and "positive shopping experiences" while fitting rooms are closed 90% of the time and lines wrap around the store. I expected mess and chaos, but these "updates" have created a hostile environment for both shoppers and employees. The main customer demographic at Burlington consists of lower-income individuals seeking deals. It's not surprising to see high theft rates when "sale prices" are nearly the same as the MSRP. Even with a flexible budget, I experience sticker shock. Why are discontinued Nike Dunks only $10 less than the original price? And why is body care (Dove and other affordable brands) placed near the registers? I'm not encouraging theft, but the prices make it understandable. What prompted this review was my recent shopping trip. During peak hours (3-4 PM), the line snaked around the store. There was no sense of urgency, and most cashiers seemed to have clocked out, leaving one person to handle the register after ringing me up. I felt bad for him, juggling pushing customers' out the door (because the cart wheels lock so you can't bring the cart to your ), while security narrating the tired script agitated customers. I don't see this store lasting another year, not without some kind of major incident. read more

If you whant to wait for more than 35 minutes in line this is the place for you! They only have 2 cashiers working, so it takes an excruciating 30-40 minutes just to get out. Hats off to Burlington! I popped by here on advice from a friend to look for a Kentucky Derby hat or what they call "church hats"! They had a lot of choices, styles and colors and the prices were much lower than some other stores I checked out like Penney's and Marshall's. While I was there I browsed the clothes, purses, jewelry and shoes. I picked up a couple pair of dress pants for work for $12 each. I also found some cute pjs. Their quality is not the best, but the prices are inexpensive so that's to be expected. Lots of trendy items for the home too. The check out was organized and they have those long aisles full of miscellaneous items to tempt you as you move up in the line. I snagged a new iPhone cord and some coffee flavored candies. That merchandising strategy works! Lol! While this isn't my favorite store by a "long shot", I was thrilled that I won the Kentucky Derby hat contest at the party I attended! I have always been able to find the best deals at Burlington Coat Factory on Broad St. adjacent to Home Depot for years. I frequently shop at the other location in Virginia Center Commons as well. I have noticed the gradual decline in the selection of products and amount of items available. The store's are almost barren and appear as though they are going out of business. They have been declining prior to COVID-19 so I don't think it helped. The staff's morale or lack thereof is another clear indication that the ship is sinking. I can never find anyone to answer any questions, pre and post covid and the store are always in disarray. Please make no mistake, as long as Burlington Coat Factory is open for business I will be searching for Good Finds. My 3 star rating is based on the experience. I have purchased the sexiest drapes at Burlington Coat Factory, Why would I deprive other's of that pleasure. Happy Shopping! read more

Burlington needs a better method of processing credit card transactions with the slider doesn't work. I had to run my card through the reader 7 times, wait on a manager who then had me do it 3 more times, then she called and tried to act like she found out the reason. She heard I had a balance of $84 and said "oh that's why" I said that's what I owe, that's not my credit limit, which is $1200. I stayed at the counter for 30 minutes just to be forced to use a different credit card. Why offer credit cards if they don't work?? This is very ghetto.. there are no fun and trendy clothing and it is very messy. I wouldn't recommend this if you don't like messy, ghetto places. But overall this place is kinda good? Burlington is ghetto... but kind of ghetto fabulous, meaning you can find some great deals in there on name brand items. Granted, it's the lower grade of the name brand items, but there is something for everyone. I guarantee you won't walk out empty handed. My new shopping getaway..they opened this store up in VA Center Mall in place of the old dillards. It s so much nicer than the one on broad street because its wide open and spacious. The prices really are better here than some other discount stores. Was able to buy most of my daughters uniformss for school and only spent about $83 for 6 outfits. This place also carries alot of home items, just walking through made me want to decorate my house again. I kept thinking oh, i need that, ooh i like that... Time to redecorate lol. What can I say? If you like good deals and have the patience to go through racks of clothing, shoes, etc, then this is the place for you! This is kind of a one-stop-shop where you can find items in: clothing, shoes, accessories, jewelry, home furnishings, baby items, etc. And everything is available for an affordable price. It's fun to see what the original price is compared to the Burlington price; you feel like you are buying the items for a steal! Right now it is under construction, but it's still open. You just have to ignore the construction sounds and new paint smell. But I can't wait to see what it looks like once the remodel is complete. read more

Black people beware!!!! This is the worst Burlington I've ever been in. I was looking to replace my silverware and a good friend of mine told me this location had silverware for $15-$20. Myself and my husband did some running around and decided to stop past this Burlington since we were in the area! Worst profiling I have ever experienced in my life. There was a white pregnant woman that walked past me and my husband very rudely, so rudely my husband had to step back to get out her way. We laughed it off and kept shopping. We then went to several other areas and realized she was following us. Not only was she following us she was making it her business to be rude in the manner in which she was following us. Burlington COAT Factory. You'd think they just had coats, right? Well they have coats, but not so many of them. It's another discount outlet store just like Ross or Marshalls. As Andrew has mentioned there's a lot of urban type stuff here. I go mostly for the underwear, pantyhose and clubwear. They're cheap and if you're only going to wear them to surprise your boyfriend or look like a you-know-what for one night you'll do fine. Don't expect it to hold up to repeat washings but it's five dollars, do you really care? read more

Burlington has great deals on name brand items. I visited this location on Saturday. I had the slowest cashier ever. An older guy. He was so slow that I put back at least $100 worth of clothes and other items. It's good and it's bad because I'm an impulse buyer, and when the line isn't moving fast enough or there's an associate on the register that shouldn't be there, gives me time to think and consider my prospective purchases. The selection of coats was very disappointing. It appeared that they were unorganized and on wrong hangers.

I HATE this crap hole! I swear they have gone down the freaking gutter! I put a crib and a chest with a bunch of baby onesies, blankets, towels, baby tub and wash cloths on layaway, i made a payment of 500 out of 1800 i came back at the end of the month to get it all my stuff out because i had a month left to welcome my DD , they lost all my stuff and apparently they never put my crib in the storage area. The manager told me it takes 8 weeks to arrive by mail or i can drive up to the warehouse and pick it up from a different location that is an hour away! Like wtf give me gas money to drive, and rent me a damn truck then ill go pick it up! But i ended up getting a 100 off my total and she put a rush on the crib and it arrived in 2 weeks. Btw this is the second time they lose my layaway. If i could give them zero stars i would , i would throw in one star because they have a spacious parking lot. read more
