    Found my Derby Hat!
    Maria T.

Hats off to Burlington! I popped by here on advice from a friend to look for a Kentucky Derby hat or what they call "church hats"! They had a lot of choices, styles and colors and the prices were much lower than some other stores I checked out like Penney's and Marshall's. While I was there I browsed the clothes, purses, jewelry and shoes. I picked up a couple pair of dress pants for work for $12 each. I also found some cute pjs. Their quality is not the best, but the prices are inexpensive so that's to be expected. Lots of trendy items for the home too. The check out was organized and they have those long aisles full of miscellaneous items to tempt you as you move up in the line. I snagged a new iPhone cord and some coffee flavored candies. That merchandising strategy works! Lol! While this isn't my favorite store by a "long shot", I was thrilled that I won the Kentucky Derby hat contest at the party I attended! (I did embellish it quite a bit!)

I have always been able to find the best deals at Burlington Coat Factory on Broad St. adjacent to Home Depot for years. I frequently shop at the other location in Virginia Center Commons as well. I have noticed the gradual decline in the selection of products and amount of items available. The store's are almost barren and appear as though they are going out of business. They have been declining prior to COVID-19 so I don't think it helped. The staff's morale or lack thereof is another clear indication that the ship is sinking. I can never find anyone to answer any questions, pre and post covid and the store are always in disarray. Please make no mistake, as long as Burlington Coat Factory is open for business I will be searching for Good Finds. My 3 star rating is based on the experience. I have purchased the sexiest drapes at Burlington Coat Factory, Why would I deprive other's of that pleasure. Happy Shopping!

    Kinda messy?

The selection of coats was very disappointing. It appeared that they were unorganized and on wrong hangers.

I was a fan of the shop before, but the new location is even brighter, larger, and closer to where I live, making it more convenient for an impromptu visit. Jessica, the owner, kept the same design elements and overall vibe of the space, which makes it feel like a seamless transition from the customer perspective. The shop feels very crisp, stylish, fashion-forward, and welcoming. The light-colored walls, ceiling, and furniture really allow the clothing and accessories to pop! Take one look at the shop and tell me it's not a place you'd like to peruse. I've scored dresses from Naven, Ali Ro, Rachel Pally, and Yoana Baraschi, denim from Citizens of Humanity, tops from Everly and Lovers and Friends, and fun accessories to round out the looks. Not only does the shop stock incredible wardrobe additions, but the personal customer service is top-notch. I'm not a fan of pushy sales associates, and Jessica (and her staff) is the farthest thing from that. She won't let you walk out of the store in something that doesn't flatter your figure, and I have never once felt pressure to make a purchase. If you're looking for a fashionable addition to your closet, or have an upcoming event and need an outfit or accessories, definitely check out Wardrobe!

And perhaps even witnessing an adorable toddler* frolicking around the shop? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you need to check out Bliss. Started by two sisters, this adorable boutique boasts fashionable, casual apparel and the carefully selected inventory includes both of-the-moment styles and classic pieces. As Megan M mentioned, it's not a huge shop but new items arrive all the time so I love visiting on a regular basis to check out what's new. The clothing leans towards the more casual side, but I've snagged everything from a French Connection striped tee (perfect for lounging around the house) to a Cooper by Courtney strapless silk dress (cocktail attire when paired with heels and jewelry). One of my favorite aspects of the shop is the absence of purchase pressure. Both sisters are super friendly and always make me feel welcome from the moment I enter the store. I often find items to purchase (sad wallet, happy closet), but when I don't I never feel awkward leaving empty-handed. This - coupled with the fantastic frocks - has made me a loyal customer and fan. Whenever I feel the need to shop (which, let's be real, is probably way more often than I should) and actually have a little dough to spend, Bliss is always on my list of boutiques to visit. *One of the owners has the cutest daughter who sometimes pops into the shop with her mom. That question was kind of a joke, but she's super cute and brings even more cheerfulness to the boutique.

You'll find designer denim, summer frocks, going-out tops and a nice selection of fashion tape, sweat guards and other fashionista must-haves. One of the young, stylish owners is usually in the store, and she's super friendly. She also sells a few pieces from local jeweler Fleur. The designer stuff skews toward high-end, meaning prices aren't cheap, but the items here are pretty unique. Brands you'll find may include Ella Moss, LA Made, Free People and French Connection. There's also usually a sale rounder in back with some good deals on designer duds.
