I read the reviews for IntensityX3 and decided to check it out since I always love a good kickboxing class. Since it was my first time there I had to take a 25 minute new members class with Ivy. There was one other newbie boxer in attendance and she went thru some of the punches and kicks she would be calling out in the 50 minute class that followed. While I've boxed before it was super helpful since there were a lot of different punches and kicks in the actual class. The 50 minute class was packed and clearly with many regulars. Ivy taught this as well and the first half of the class was kickboxing. She took us thru many high energy routines - it was fun and we broke a sweat! The second half of the class was all butt/legs. It was a great combo of cardio and strength and I left bummed that i was headed back to Chicago later that day since I wanted to go again. I"ll definitely be back next time I head home to South Florida! The studio itself isn't easy to find! They are located in the back of the Office Depot plaza, although the other side of Office Depot. Turn left before the Public Storage Building and look for the black awning. I had trouble, but called them and they stayed on the phone with me giving me solid directions. The only thing I didn't love was doing this workout barefoot, which they claim is better for your feet. I prefer to workout in shoes, especially when kicking backs and working with heavy weights. Perhaps it's just something I need to get used to, but everything else was solid!

He modifies the exercise if you have an Injury or have trouble doing it. Class sizes are generally small 10-12 people in the 6:30am class. This gives him more personalized time with each person. This is a great workout! Everyday is something different. The class feels like a big family. It's a no-judgement zone!

I also have undiagnosed ADD, so I've tried every workout concept imaginable (F45, CrossFit, orange theory, PIT fitness, immersion fitness, boot camps and the list goes on). BodyTek is the only one who keeps me gaining and guessing what's next! Class design: 45 mins to an hour with the particular class being either a total body workout or weights Wednesday (upper body or lower body). The total body workout will be a mix of upper and lower body stations with cardio and HIIT peppered in the stations. You have a certain time period to complete each workout in the station before moving to the next. I love this part of the concept because it makes me feel productive in moving towards the last station. The workouts are designed to burn fat, gain endurance, build strength and gain music. The amount of workouts they cram into an hour is unreal but the results are very real! I am a music aficionado and if boutique gym does not have good music they will never see my face again. This is nowhere near the case with bodytek. The music is dope every class and it motivates me to work harder. They even have speciality classes sometimes like Noche Latina ( all Latin music blazing while burning out your legs) and a post Christmas workout to burn my 5,000 calories consumed the day prior. The facility itself is like a family. The trainers are all amazing and are always making sure everyone has proper form so no Injuries occur. My favorite trainers are Vida, Francisco, and Santiago. All of them being such high energy to the class and make your butt kicking enjoyable! If you are looking to develop a new healthy habit in the new year give Bodytek a try. When I first came in I was extremely intimidated. It was my first time ever walking into a non-conventional gym. However, all of the coaches were extremely welcoming, and helped me to become acclimated. There are so many athletes of different abilities, yet everyone seems to work together with one common goal in mind: to get better. Now, I've decided to no longer do CrossFit, but instead work with a coach at Hype to solely get better at Olympic Weightlifting. Despite the change in sport, the coaches are still extremely helpful, friendly and encouraging during open gym and the mindset of the community is still the same. Overall, CrossFit Hype is truly a special place, and there is no other gym like it.

This is an awesome facility and I truly enjoy spending time there. There's something for everyone no matter what your fitness goals are-- during my time as a member I've gone from "taking a break" from working out and doing a lot of yoga/relaxing and now currently getting back into a bodybuilding program. The gym offers a variety of equipment and I never have to improvise due to lack of equipment. I might be staying the obvious here, but if you are into powerlifting, I would probably go elsewhere. The cardio machines are brand new and really nice. The actual place itself is very clean. I feel totally comfortable showering in the locker room and they have everything you need- towels, body wash, lotion, razors, etc. The outdoor pool is really pretty and nice to relax at after a workout. Staff is super nice and helpful. I have yet to buy any food from the cafe but it looks good. Definitely some good options if you're in a bind or spending a long time there. I will gladly pay the extra $ to train in a clean and peaceful gym.

She informed guest passes are no longer allowed because theft at the gym was high and that the AC may not be working upstairs. After waiting for 10 minutes the other receptionist came back and said that no one was available to give a tour, even though there were two people at the front desk.
