Not sure what some of the other reviewers are talking about. Clearly they haven't visited the literal garbage dumps that are the other gyms in Boca. This is an awesome facility and I truly enjoy spending time there. There's something for everyone no matter what your fitness goals are-- during my time as a member I've gone from "taking a break" from working out and doing a lot of yoga/relaxing and now currently getting back into a bodybuilding program. The gym offers a variety of equipment and I never have to improvise due to lack of equipment. I might be staying the obvious here, but if you are into powerlifting, I would probably go elsewhere. The cardio machines are brand new and really nice. The actual place itself is very clean. I feel totally comfortable showering in the locker room and they have everything you need- towels, body wash, lotion, razors, etc. The outdoor pool is really pretty and nice to relax at after a workout. Staff is super nice and helpful. I have yet to buy any food from the cafe but it looks good. Definitely some good options if you're in a bind or spending a long time there. I will gladly pay the extra $ to train in a clean and peaceful gym. read more

Went in hoping for a tour to join but left with no intention of coming back. One receptionist went to go look for someone to give a tour while the woman, assuming it was the manager, at the front desk stared at us in silence and was less than friendly when I inquired about the gym while waiting. She informed guest passes are no longer allowed because theft at the gym was high and that the AC may not be working upstairs. After waiting for 10 minutes the other receptionist came back and said that no one was available to give a tour, even though there were two people at the front desk. read more

What a bummer. The "enshitification" of the world as a whole continues... And now it includes the lifetime at Boca. I recently returned to this lifetime after being away a few months. I simply cannot believe the decisions made for their renovation. I understand renovations were needed as the gym they previously purchased and renamed, did need several cosmetic updates. However, whoever made the decisions for this specific location seriously is tone deaf, and should not be put in charge of such decisions in the future. Not to mention, the air conditioning still stops working randomly, the showers are not open for use, can't use the court because of construction, several classes unavailable. And they are still charging full price. The only silver lining, and also the only reason I left two stars, is because the lifting area is still nicely maintained. And honestly, after seeing what they chose to do with the basketball courts, I will no longer be coming to this location. Removal of the full court NBA sized court with all the side baskets will affect their membership numbers more than they realize. This location has long been a legendary court where high-level players and their training staff and friends would frequent. Especially over the summer. Now it's been downsized to a LA Fitness style court. Also, considering how much it cost nowadays to replace of hardwood basketball court, if they ever chose to go back on their decision, it would cost them triple. Absolutely bonehead move by whoever signed off on this. Whoever made this decision, does not understand the local community and their desires. Furthermore, it's not like they were short on space. There's plenty of room in this massive gym to have turf placed without cutting up the bball floor. Not to mention, the other nearest lifetime in Palm Beacch Gardens only has Pickleball courts. So basically, if you are a basketball player, Life Time doesn't really care about you. Such an absolute shame. Local community that is affected by this will find alternate locations. Personally, I will be going to the equinox in West Palm. Feel free to include a boring corporate response below this review, but understand that no matter what you say, you made a terrible decision which was not " in the best interest of the community". I hate how so many things nowadays are made worse by someone sitting behind a desk signing off on bad ideas. At 5:30pm yesterday, my mom visited this location to use a benefit through her insurance plan and was treated with a shocking lack of professionalism. During the conversation, she was told, "We don't honor that without an additional fee. Given your demographic, it looks like you can't afford that." If there was an eligibility issue or additional fee, it should have been explained respectfully. No customer should be spoken to this way. Management should review this incident and ensure members and prospective members are treated with professionalism and respect. read more

They are in the middle of construction and so the men's locker room and showers are out of use. This is the best gym in Boca Raton but that isn't saying much. Last night a live video feed from the Kennedy Center of Donald Trump giving a speech was displayed by a member on a phone attached to the top of the No Phone Use Allowed sign inside the men's spa area. I reported it to staff and they responded, saying this isn't allowed, and asking whose phone it was. A surprised man stood up from the spa and said it was his, and said lots of people use their phone in the spa area. He's correct. Phone use by members is rampant at the Boca Lifetime. Lengthly and confusing signs are posted saying no phones use allowed, yet members routinely talk, play videos, and play on their phones inside the men's sauna, steam room, spa, locker room, and on the second floor workout floor, sometimes while sitting on machines not in use for extended periods of time. I've reported this to the desk, and asked why the posted signs are not enforced. I don't mind paying a premium for a nice facility such as this, but I am beginning to question why I'm paying almost $300 a month to be subjected to extremely rude members and management that doesn't enforce posted gym policies. I would have written this directly to Lifetime, but their corporate website has no email contact info listed for members, and the phone number listed is answered by a recording inviting the caller to leave a voicemail, which I did. read more

I've never seen a gym so focused on fixing problems that don't exist and not fixing the ones that do. Management keeps making the most unnecessary changes that no one asks for. It's like the people making decisions have never used the gym once. Half the renovations make no sense, they keep switching the layout and moving things around, yet refuse to do simple things that would make a huge difference. Maybe replace the old filter first or get a new scale. The cycle is they make a change no one asked for, members complain that they'd prefer it the original way and eventually it goes back. The second floor layout change might be the worst one yet, took away the stretching area and threw a bunch of machines haphazardly on top of each other. All you have to do is send a survey out to members on what they believe should be prioritized in terms of additions, renovations, and adjustments. That's using customer feedback to iteratively improve your facility. Don't overcomplicate things by wasting time and money on changes no one wants. When they aren't making unnecessary changes, it's a great facility that I really value and enjoy being at. It's the best part of my daily routine. read more

Corporate customer service manager Babette has many complaints and Lifetime. She banned me for life after being a member 20 years. I was told they did not want me as a member on medical freeze when I got diagnose. Equinox Club is opening at the end of 2025 in Boca will take their members. I went on to the lifetime website last night and booked for a tour for today. The app gave me three choices of time for today. When I arrived at 1:pm today the two people at the front desk asked me to provide them a copy of the email confirmation. I showed them my email, and they did in fact verify that I was correct. They had no record of my reservations in their computer. They then asked me to wait another ten minutes in the seating area, until finally one of the 2 people that were just standing at the front desk came over to me and my girlfriend to give us a tour of the club. As we walked over to the elevator, My girlfriend asked the direct question, was there in fact a "waiting list" for this particular location. The representative, pulled us out of the path to the elevator to address this rather than going into the club. He said "Yes. easier this month It was a decision from corporate to limit this clubs memberships and not new members join until people (current members) move away, or cancel their memberships". When we asked how long the waiting list was since the beginning of the month, he said currently about 30 people. I think to myself, so as I walked in wanting to join this club, They couldn't handle the simple reservation, they can't handle the membership or more capacity. I was prepared to overpay for a membership, I was prepared to see the facility. I was prepared to see the facility was not at A+ standards, already read the other yelp reviews. I knew after being handled by the representative working with couldn't handle the questioning. A few months ago a friend, however I would like to think of them as a down low hater (DLH- are people who have problems in their own life but say bitter things to others) , said if I even walk one mile a day since I looked a bit chubby. Some people are so impolite how they speak to others, however long story short, yes I do walk but I needed that extra boost with consistency and putting work outs in my weekly schedule. I wanted to get fit since more than a year ago I injured my shoulder pretty badly and was getting some treatment for it. Now that I was feeling better, I knew I had to start working out on the regular. Since August 2018, I lost over 10 pounds fairly quickly and have been able to keep it off plus tone up. Positives of this gym: -The cycle classes are amazing. -Personal trainer/group trainer Sharlene is excellent. One of the best personalities of the gym. - The equipment is up to date and fancy. Love all the work out machine options. -The sauna and steam room are the real deal. The most relaxing part after a work out. Negatives of this gym: - Believe it or not, I was never given a tour, the front desk said they were way to busy for someone to give me a tour. My husband has been a member there from years, so when he added me on his account, I wasn't there with him that day, so once they had me as a member, I guess they didn't want to waste their time ??? They just pointed just at the direction where everything is lol, this place is three floors... I rest my case. -Classes are canceled within 24 hours sometimes, it's annoying and it's happened a few times. - Gym hours are not the greatest, open until 10pm weekdays and only until 7PM on weekends Overall, I think this gym has a lot to offer, but can work on customer service and offering more classes. 3.5 stars for this location. read more

The club overall is great, but the music, DJ, by the outdoor pool is soooooo loud we all had a headache, couldn't even hear each other, it is stupid loud, no need for a health club to have a DJ, when some people were trying to read and even meditate, and the outdoor massage is right next to it. I had been a member of the Life Time Fitness in Cary, North Carolina prior to moving down to Boca Raton. When I moved down I had to upgrade my membership because the Boca location is one of their "Onyx" or top tiered locations, I happily did this and set expectations that it would feel like a higher tiered club appropriately. Hugely disappointed in the club based on those expectations. This Life Time is much smaller, more worn down, and has much more limited offerings than the one I came from in Cary, and costs significantly more. Although it is 3 stories each floor & respective dedicated section is relatively small. An example here is if you're lifting weights you'll need to go back and forth between the second and third floor to get from the dumbbells to the machines. The entire building feels old and worn down, and there is no outdoor lap pool (even though this is a Florida location where the weather permits use year round) only a small entertaining pool. In comparison the Cary location, which is around $80 per month cheaper to join has two floors that are both much much larger, newer & cleaner equipment, a much larger variety of equipment, indoor lap pools, outdoor lap pools, outdoor entertaining pools, water slides, etc. Not a terrible gym in comparison to the other gyms in the area by any means, but it doesn't feel like a "Life Time" gym, and much less does it feel like one of their top tiered locations. They need to either knock it down a tier or two or do a complete refresh. read more

Most run down, unregulated lifetime /gym I've ever seen. Want to go full nude in the sauna/steam room? go for it! Tonight there were two naked girls in the sauna and I told the front desk. They told the bathroom attendant to check out the situation. She said it was okay because they were topless, nips OUT but had a towel over their Vags. That seems like a health code violation. Naked people sitting in there sweating they seemed baffled that I did not want to stay in there. I just did not feel like sitting in a small room with two naked people. I felt a little shamed for it, The front desk guy said that some people are okay with it across the country and some aren't so I guess they're taking the side of nudists who need that thrill to be naked in public. I don't see how wearing a bikini in a sauna or a towel over you affects your sweat in the sauna... I don't feel bad I complained and I wish the they actually handled situations here but they let everything slide. Also curious how often they're cleaned as I've never seen it cleaned during normal closing, hopefully it gets done after hours or during the day. They don't care. Also need a wind storm and like to layer up in a hoodie at the gym? Perfect place, windy and chilly. Dingy. management doesn't care about needs of guests. Also there's oftentimes no one at the front desk at night, kinda seems unsafe. If you want a gym that sometimes decides the air shouldn't be put on, has a septic smell throughout the gym and locker rooms (truly horrid) and have someone ALWAYS on the machines you want to use then definitely sign up. I joined a month ago and after 3 weeks, I couldn't do it anymore. Finding a new gym ASAP. You would think Boca would have the nicest Lifetime out of them all.... well try the worst. The people working the front desk were extremely snobby and unhelpful. They talked down to us and made us feel poor for not being able to afford the fees. They refused a few boarding school buddy's a cohabitual membership because they couldn't prove they live at the same school. Outrageous. Simply disrespectful. In addition, they threw demeaning accusations to a minority group, which seemed racially motivated, stating that we "snuck in" and "stole equipment" even though we have never visited this establishment. This rating is for the lack of customer service at the front desk. We are a member of Lifetime in the Northeast. My daughter and I are on vacation in Florida and My daughter (who has a Signature membership) was told she cannot come in and exercise because the memberships are different. I understand the membership concept. We were explained that we needed to "convert" the existing membership for the two days my daughter would've exercised here. It would've meant canceling our membership up north and opening a new membership here and then reconvert to the Northeast membership. Just visiting from out of town...regular lifetime is Lifetime Diamond in North Brook, Illinois. Staff was friendly and helpful. Facility was older and dated, and the ENTIRE outdoor pool area was completely taken over by a day camp run out of the gym. At least 50 screaming kids plus staff. It was chaotic, and loud. I have fond memories of working out here in high school back when it was The Athletic Club. However, when I heard it had been turned into a Life Time I was psyched since I had joined the new Life Time in Northbrook and have access to all Life Time clubs. The first time I used it my plan was to stick my kids in the kids club while I worked out and then take them swimming. I called ahead to ask if there were certain hours the pool was open to kids. They said the kids could use it at any time, but warned me (slightly rudely) they weren't really a kid friendly location and catered to an older clientele. When my kids first saw the kids club they agreed with that statement because they took a look around the small room and said "this is it?" They've clearly been spoiled by the multiples rooms (gym, game room, dance studio, tumbling, etc) in the new Northbrook location. The woman in the kids club told them that it was small, but just as fun...then they spotted a few ipads and were all smiles! They do have a little outside area attached to it where the kids can run around- we can't do that for the majority of the year in Chicago! When I picked up my kids my 3 year old came out saying "I like it here!" My 6 and 8 year olds made me promise we wouldn't drop them off there again because it was for babies and even the ipads weren't fun. So that was the end of the kids club for this vacation. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves with the exception of a good friend from high school who was randomly there with his family (so fun!) and another family visiting from Chicago. It's a typical pool with no slides, zero entry, etc...but they had a few noodles and kick boards...and my kids had fun. My daughter also loved the hot tub in the locker room, which technically she's too young to use, but no one stopped her. As for my workouts I did the treadmill on my own - nice equipment just like the one back home. I did a barre fusion class, which I thought was mediocre, but more so because I'm a cardio type of gal. I also did a kettleball class, which I really liked. Most days I ended up paying for classes that I thought I'd prefer at other specialized studios, which I often do at home too. I am a bit surprised this is a diamond level club since it pales in comparison to what we have in Northbrook, but I'm also comparing a club that took over an existing location to a brand sparkly new Life Time so perhaps not fair. If I lived in the area I don't think I would be a member here since I've found so many great studios for workouts, but it's definitely convenient to have whenever I visit home. read more

Want to workout in style? Then Life Time Athletic is perfect for you. This is the most luxurious gym anyone can wish for. So during my visit to FL, my best friend took me to her gym as a guest. Inside it is huge with their own restaurant and hair salon! Kept so clean, nice locker room, state of the art equipments and knowledgeable staff just to name a few great things. I took the bicycling class called AMP Cycle which was pretty much a party! Our instructor Dorothy was so helpful, supportive, energetic from the beginning to the end of class. She made sure that I had my bicycle adjusted according to my height, secured me in, and explained the bike features. Everyone is already pumped before the class even starts and the vibe is so positive that it makes you feel excited. As we were following Dorothy, she had some great music playing and constantly encouraged us to push ourselves harder. At the end of class, I felt amazing! If I lived in the area, I would have loved to join my bestie's baller gym! read more

Ok a follow up on my horrifying experience in this Boca location ! I called corporate and obviously they could care less about how there front counter handled my experience . So we decided to join LA Fitness . I was treated with respect and they were more than happy to sign us up . Ok so I'm not at a posh expensive gym any more . However ever since life time was bought out I'm hearing many bad things from it's employees back in Chicago . All say it's not the same environment as previously owner . Totally a shame management don't hire someone to take care of all the bad publicity. The golden rule is customers are always right even if they are wrong . We pay the sailers of its employees. WOW just saw the ceo on Fox News and he claims he is worried about his employees getting back to work ! From the lack of detail of basic dusting to the disgusting floors inside men's Lockeroom that clearly aren't attended to... I have been a member of this club since 2000. This is my home home away from home. I am an avid fan of water exercise and this facility provides aqua aerobic classes with an indoor Olympic size pool as well as an outdoor pool area which is so private and relaxing. I also enjoy Yoga classes. All instructors have bern superb. I have visited other Lifetimes across the country. The Boca Raton facility is smaller and more intimate. Going to Lifetime is a social event. I have made many friends there. read more

I am not impressed with this Lifetime location for many reasons. I was visiting from out of town and for some reason this location was not on the list of clubs I have access to. When I arrived, I stupidly forgot my card. Therefore, I had to give the worker my cell to check me in. She gave me a lecture on how this club was not allowed under my membership. She would not let me in. The customer service was rude and did not encourage me to want to upgrade my membership. I understand rules but would appreciate quality customer service and a gentler approach to explaining how things work. read more

This lifetime athletic gym is on par with other locations I've been to. It's pretty pricey but does come with many amenities including a spa, steam room ‍ sauna, hot tub, and classes galore. Been to yoga ‍ and water aerobics. The outdoor pool area is really great! It is like a resort out there complete with rocks with water trickling down. The locker rooms are nice and everything is fairly clean. I would say this location lacks waterslides or rock walls which I have appreciated at other locations.
