The good: quite the selection of beers on draft, kind folks at the counter. Frose Fridays = $6 froses. The ok: it just doesn't really stand out compared to other spots?

Try something new!

Quaint neighborhood hang out. Lots of variety in the beer selection and super friendly waitstaff. If you aren't interested in beer and wine, they do have coffee and a variety of bar snacks. The vibe is like a Starbucks but with adult beverages! Give them a try

Great spot to grab a drink in the neighborhood! There are tasty options for snacking or drinking and the service is super friendly. Try the Momo's michelada!

It is on the pricier side, but I think the quality makes it worthwhile. I also absolutely love their Irish coffee martini. It's a fun take on a traditional espresso martini, but in my opinion, it's better in every way. Overall, The Dead Rabbit is a great choice when you're in the mood for elevated pub food, excellent drinks, and a lively atmosphere.

I actually been to The Dead Rabbit, but it was in New York. I found out that this location was related to the one in New York. I was surprised when I arrived that this location that it wasn't crowded being it was a Friday evening during at almost the end of Happy Hour. Seating was available right away. The service was fast, prompt, and professional. The staff were friendly, patient, and courteous. The ambiance was surprisingly not loud where you had to shout your order. Speaking about my order -- yes, I ordered the fish and chips, and a pint of Guinness. The fish and chips were cooked just right. The Guinness tasted like a properly-poured Guinness. It was too bad that I couldn't "split the G." Lol. The next time I'm in Austin, I'll be visiting them again.

I'll start by complimenting the staff! Everyone we encountered - bar tender, server both - had a great sense of humor and were a pleasure to engage with. Regardless of the food or ambiance the server is the face of the establishment. Bad service can easily lead to a bad review. In this case the waitress, when she finally showed up, was not friendly. She was indifferent, like we were bothering her, and had a borderline RUDE attitude. The clincher was her assumption on who was paying the bill. We waited a good ten minutes for her to initially show up. When she got to the table the first thing she asked for was a credit card to cover the drinks we ordered; which I thought was strange since our family was sitting at a table and ordering dinner. After the food was delivered she never returned to check on us. Other servers had to get us refills and were happy to do so. When she finally returned at the end of the meal with the bill , all smiles of course, she had already run the credit card without ever giving us the bill to review??? The card she asked for, for the drinks, was NOT meant to pay the bill. We were going to split the bill but since she already ran the card the cardholder didn't feel comfortable asking her to rerun the card. This was VERY awkward!! None of us have EVER experienced anything like this ever!! I wish I had gotten her name. I'm giving a 2 star review because everyone though the food was good.

Ticked away in a little complex without 79 visibility along with a couple of other places that don't seem to get much traffic either. Finally made our first visit so we could try "the best fish & chips" in the Austin area. I was surprised how big it was, they have a patio, a bar area and lots of tables I was shocked as from the outside it looks tiny. Service was fantastic which was shocking with them closing soon. The service was enough to want me to go back hopefully for us in this area they end up somewhere close by as I know how hard it is to find good workers. Pretzels were good! Onion rings were our favorite! Their version of the Philly was just okay, was very plain with not much flavor hubby didn't even finish half. But the star of the show was the fish and chips. My son was over the moon! Couldn't even finish half of it and he wanted to haha. Sad to see they will be closing their doors but hopefully the owner has something else up his sleeve as they were onto something with this place.

Their beer selection here is quite large and choices are pretty numerous. I decided to go with an Amber Ale it was very good! The name of it was called Cold Comfort. Flavor features to enjoy with this particular beer are malty, sweet, caramel and breadiness. The beer had a nice carbonation level too! All the flavors blended and melded together quite nicely which was nice. They certainly do know how to make beer and it was nice to get a beer type that I don't get as often. Lots and lots of other intriguing beer options aside from the one I tried here!

"Nosh & Bevvy Won't Forgive Me for All the Ways They Wronged Me"…read more That title is meant to be ironic. After more than fifteen years as a customer, I made one mistake: a four-dollar tab discrepancy on a day when I had just been turned away from a dental appointment because my blood pressure was too high for treatment. I was upset, distracted, and wanted to be around people I believed were my friends. That was the last day I ever stayed there as a customer. Let's go down the list. I have been accused of skipping out on my tab. The truth is that after fifteen years of faithful patronage, there was one incident involving approximately four dollars. I had added items to my order, paid cash, and made a mistake. One mistake in fifteen years. After that happened, I became concerned that I would continue to be treated as though I couldn't be trusted. In my experience, comments about unpaid tabs continued to surface. Rather than create another misunderstanding, I made a point of being generous. On the very next occasion I tipped Charlie more than fifty percent. Instead of feeling appreciated, I arrived the next time feeling insulted when the entire amount was simply pocketed without so much as an acknowledgment. Maybe others see that differently. That's how it felt to me. The situation became even more disturbing when interactions began taking place outside the bar itself. While standing in front of my own home, I experienced conduct that I considered harassment. As a result, I filed a police report and have the corresponding case number in my email records. What disturbed me even more were stories that reached me through people connected to my former partner. According to what we were told, false rumors were being circulated claiming that my ex-girlfriend had committed suicide. Whether people thought this was gossip, entertainment, or somehow harmless, it was not. The psychological harm caused by spreading something like that is difficult to overstate. Shame on everyone involved. What you don't know is Satara an I  spoke with witnesses that completely implicated Gilbert in the rumor. What strikes me now is that I nearly forgave all of this. I removed earlier reviews because I genuinely wanted to move on. I thought it was over. I thought everyone could move on with their lives. Apparently not. If people insist on dragging the issue back into the light, then here it is. The reality is that I don't even particularly miss the place. What I do object to is being disrespected. When a business chooses to disrespect a customer who supported it for fifteen years, there are consequences. One of those consequences is that customer telling his side of the story publicly. A Message to the Staff: If I believe I am being harassed in public--whether at Night Owl or anywhere else--I will pursue every legal remedy available to me. And Sam, for what it's worth, I am sorry that your employees have represented your business in a way that ultimately cost you a longtime customer and the loss of business from everyone else that read & took this review to heart as a warning & again, Sam & Charlie, for what it's worth I wanted to make all of this go away.  Fifteen years. One four-dollar mistake. And somehow I'm still the one expected to apologize when I feel like my partner and I were the ones most wronged. Because I'm not a completely vindictive man. If I get an apology from every employee that works building that knows me, In writing, I will remove this review. -- Mad Dashiell
