I just picked up my car from Burnside and just had to write a review. I took my car in on Monday and expected it to be there thru Friday or maybe longer. I rec'd a call this morning (Thursday) bright and early that my car was ready. Wow! A day early. The work was/is amazing, color match right on and hey, they washed and vacumed my poor little dusty car. From the time I walked in for my estimate until getting into the car today I was treated with courteous employees, promptly and just overall FABULOUS customer service. He even offered to stay late on a friday over a holiday weekend to make sure we could get our car if we would be late. I would give this place one start if it was possible. Brought my car down for part of an insurance claim and another part paid out of pocket to get the hood and roof repainted. Didn't haggle on the price, brought my car back to have the work done and was told it would take 8 days. When my car was there for 4 weeks I called and they said "oh no one called you, it's taking longer than we expected." Ok no problem. 2 weeks later it's still not done. I finally go down to pick it up and I speak to the owner who gets aggressive with me because my spoiler was not put back on properly, flimsy and practically falling off. He tells me they didn't take it off and how he's been doing this for so many years and asks me if someone tried to steal it off my car in the less than 24 hrs I had the car home. Ummm NO! He then finds that his painter took the spoiler off and didn't tell anyone. Get my car back and within 2 days it starts coming off again. So I go back down there and come to find out the 2 plastic clips that help hold it down were broken and the metal on the lid that the clips go into was bent up and hey are the only ones who have ever taken it off. So he takes my spoiler off and leaves it at the shop while he has the clips on order. They come in 2 days later, puts it all back together and come to find they scratched the hell out of he spoiler and of course they claim they set it on a blanket and it could not have been from them. Are you kidding me???!!! Worst experience ever, would find another body shop if I were you. One that does the work correctly the first time and not have to keep going back. read more

The words, sneaky, and scandalous comes to mind whenever I think of Burnside! Why, let me explain, what thy do is give you a high estimate, then later they tell you that the have renegotiated the price with your insurance company for a far lower price! Later when you come to pick up your car, they will tell you that they have spoke with the insurance company and the insurance company told them that they paid you the higher priced estimate!! If you balk about it, they will hold your cars, trying to say they misplaced placed your keys!! Once, they see that you know that they will hold your car as ransom if you do not pay the higher price then, they will give your keys back to you!! Underhanded!, is another word that fits this scenario! So next time you go in, just get a high priced estimate, and then take your car somewhere else for repair!! While they do great work, and the young automotive body repair techs are fabulous! I am sure Modesto has other great body repair techs that will do the same job at a much lower price!! read more

Brent took care of the issues promptly, was in communication with me throughout the whole process, went beyond to restoring the car to pre-accident look AND actually made it look way better (headlamp, dent, chipped paint). I've been in accidents before and had to deal with other auto body shops taking forever and not doing a great job. After hitting a animal on 132 my cars right front end and underbelly was messed up pretty bad, called my insurance company and they gave me a choice of places to take it which I had no clue of any of then, so I picked Burnside because they were close to me, I called them up and they were so nice from the beginning, I told them that I work in the bay area and were they open on Saturdays and they said no, so I then asked them if it was safe to drop my car off on Sunday but they said the area wasn't safe, so I told them that I would need to find another body shop to take it to but the lady who took the call said that she would ask the owner Brent if he could meet me on Sunday to drop the car off and he said yes from then on I had the best service that I could ask for, they went above and beyond excellent service, god for bid I should need a body shop again I will certainly take it to Burnside. read more

I had a great experience here at Burnside Body Shop! They did a phenomenal paint job on my car and even went way beyond what any other body shop would've done. They did so many extra things at no charge and were friendly and courteous throughout the whole process. They even put in new door handles to complete the look with the new paint job and also installed my new license plate brackets at no charge! Mr. Brent Burnside took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done and was very friendly and down-to-earth. Talking to him was like was talking to an old buddy of mine. Just two guys talking about our passion for cars. I could tell he really loves his job and it shows in his quality of work. I like the idea that he works on the cars himself alongside his employees unlike some other shops. The whole experience was great, even down to the coffee they offer there. Burnside was amazing! I meant to leave a review back in September, but better late than never. My entire passenger front end was crunched in after I hit someone making a left turn in front of me. I own Volkswagen Jetta, and parts aren't too easy to come by for Volkswagens. The only hold up I had waiting for my car to be fixed was from my insurance company having to send out an evaluator again, because Burnside found additional damage that wasn't found in the first estimate. When my car was done, not only did they do an amazing job (it looked brand new), but they even cleaned the inside and outside of my car. Polished rims and tires, too. They stayed open after hours so that my husband could drive me over there to pick it up that day. The customer service is top notch. I 'm a Hotrodder by heart and who had to evacuate from the Camp Fire . I have temporarily moved to Modesto . Upon being allowed back in to see what was left of my dream home and dream hotrods , my Daughter and I decided to retrieve what we could of two hotrods. A 32 hi boy roadster and a 36 model 77 Willys. The question I asked was who was the best body shop in town. So off I went to Burnside Body. I met up with Bubba who was a very friendly and knowledgeable guy. My request to him was that I was trying to make some wall art out of some hotrod pieces that were left from the fire. Needless to say they were in very bad shape . After some discussion he sent me to Billington Welding and Manufacturing . There Dave took the lead and his crew did the blasting work on my pieces. Not your everyday pieces that come thru the doors. After a few days Dave called and said I could come by and pick them up. What a great bunch of guys . So back to Burnside Body where I met up with Bubba again. We discussed what I was looking for in my special wall art . I told him to run with it . These will be displayed on the walls of my new shop. Today I received a phone call from Bubba and said my pieces were ready for pickup. I was first introduced to Ryan the paint specialist and he showed me to my amazement the quality and great EYE for what I was hoping for. I will not recommend Burnside to anyone. I paid $2,200 up front for repairs and the car was dropped off on Monday at the appointed time, with a promise to be done on Friday. The car was not done on Friday, with various excuses about a tire not being ready which had been damaged from the collision. When I offered to bring down another tire I was finally told it was not done being painted. When I brought up the additional expense of the rental car throughout the weekend they asked how much I was paying. When I told them, they said I was getting a great deal and should be happy with the price. The car was then promised to be done Tuesday morning at the latest, but was not finished until Wednesday afternoon costing me 5 extra days car rental. read more

We went to Burnside near the end of the business day for an estimate of repairs after a minor fender bender. Jarod drew up an estimate on the spot. He gave us a heads-up that the new bumper would contrast with the rest of the faded trim on our car. After investigating the damage a bit, he asked if he could have a tech take a look and attempt to pull out the dent...just to see what was possible. The technician was able to repair the dent and the bumper looks good as new. Meanwhile, we enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate inside. I had a panel placed on my car, it has not been a year and that part fell off. The parts are warranty since burnside was the preferred body shop- i took my car in and was told that I would be liable to buy the part - I felt that since I was a female the excuses that was given why a part they put in I would have to buy- instead of realizing that it is covered and they need to replace- the lack of integrity in letting me know that they will fix the part that they replaced and it falling off is disappointing . I can understand if i presented to there office in a rude manner, that is one thing- as a woman I hate talking to auto repair places and personal and as women we rely on other women referrals and how we are treated - disappointed - I contacted my insurance company and they will talk to the body shop- disappointed that they would try to get over on a customer for a part that is not that much- bad work on there part- read more
