Went to the local Audi dealer and they said Kruse/Lucas was their Audi authorized body shop. Well, I went there and they said they weren't an Audi Authorized body shop anymore. Eric that they don't even like to work on Audis. He stood behind my car, which had a couple of small 1" paint scuffs and a little dig in the bumper cover, and told me how much work would be to repair and would be about $5000.00! Refused to write me an estimate. He said they also don't work with State Farm Insurance, cause they won't pay their (high) labor rates. He said I'd have hundreds of dollars of out of pocket AFTER the insurance paid them if they did the work. I am baffled a place like this is in business. Here are the FACTS... 1- Expensive shop rates ( UP to $100 per hour) 2- Slow work progress ( Get you and make you wait a month)! 3- Snobby attitude ( Few times I called to check on my car I felt like I was inconveniencing them?!!) 4- Additional add on ( my insurance declined their rate and findings and since they had my car for WEEKS I had to pay out of pocket to settle the difference ( Think of it as paying the kidnappers so you would see your family member unharmed!!) 5- 3% plastic cars FEES ( Credit AND Debit... Was just trying to see when I can get my car looked at and schedule repair. 1st of all he thought I didn't have money to pay for my damages upfront from a beef with insurance. (Don't be rude to me because of a third party) 2nd he kept ranting on about everything they do "wrong" last time I checked I don't work for them so don't talk to me like that. If your the manager, shame on you, if you're a manger reading this, I would talk to your crew about being polite and leaving negativity out of the conversations. Last month, after being crashed into on my way to work, I was a bit shook and totally on edge. Mercedes told me to take my CLA to Kruse/Lucas (as they are Benz certified) so I rushed over there as my car was unsafe to drive. I felt scattered and overwhelmed. Eric was a super bada$$ when it came to dealing with State Farm (the 3rd parties insurance company). He kept me informed while always being respectful of my time. I'm inquisitive by nature but he never seemed irritated by the endless inquiries. In fact, he would go above and beyond to answer. He truly seems as though he loves his job, he is happy to be there and that is an uncommon characteristic these days. Recently, I was rear ended on the freeway and sustained severe damage to the rear end of my Alfa Romeo. There was no question where I was going to take my car as I have heard that Kruse Lucas has an excellent reputation on all makes and models. From the moment I walked in, Eric was awesome! He located all the necessary, very difficult to find parts needed to restore my car to its original condition, despite the fact that some of the businesses he reached out to in order to obtain those parts were not very cooperative - he was persistent. I just got my car back and it looks better than new and runs like a charm! Eric, also work closely with my insurance company to get me the best possible financial outcome. A while back I brought my car here and had serval issues with the services they performed (over spray, several return visits to fix a leaking taillight, dirty vehicle upon return). A few weeks back I came back to KL because the paint no longer matched very well (mind you the garaged vehicle has been driven maybe 5-7k mikes in this extended time). Initially I was told no problem bring it in we will re spray it (they supposedly warranty their work/the paint). Well that was a waste of my time. I get a call the next day the guy said something along the lines of "boss says we can't fix this come pick it up". I talked to the manager/owner? and he was extremely rude about things. He prefaced by saying he didn't like my honest review the first time I came here (yet even back then he never called or left a response here on Yelp to resolve things) but in any event he said he couldn't get the color any better then it already was. I said fine if that's a limitation of your shop refund me the spray cost and I'll take it else where he declined. No other solutions just crappy service all around, I took the vehicle home with no work done. *It's also worth mentioning that the service here in general is not customer oriented anymore/that employees aren't happy. You walk in to a nice/clean waiting room but NO ONE acknowledges you for several minutes (someone will glance over at you but say NOTHING) so you stand around thinking oooooookay... just plain old bad customer service. My final thought on this place is if your only willing to stand next to your best work you'll never be among the best. The one star is for your clean lobby and ZERO stars for everything else.
