The facility has a Museum, but the real fun is the grounds around it. Think rolling Irish meadows - about 100 acres. They have trails for people that have never ridden before, water play area for the horses, and huge meadows with many jumps. My 16-year-old daughter has been riding for the past 5 years. She was in heaven. She rode Princess, a small white pony. That pony has some moves! She can jump her height. I'm 6'2" and they set me up with "Mr. Big". Cost was approx. $35/hour (the Euro is trading at 1.25/dollar) per rider, plus I gave a 20 Euro tip to our guide.

We visited the farm today to make scones, learn a little about farm life and to learn about sheep…read morefarming. The visit started with pictures in front of the peat burning fireplace. The aroma coming from the fireplace was very interesting compared to a wood burning fireplace. You could visit several rooms in the farmhouse to get a feel for what it was like to live there. We then moved into a large room with tables and benches with all the materials for making scones laid out. Mary was our instructor that provided the step by step instructions to make our own scones. Once the batter was ready and the scones were ready for baking a number was assigned to your tray so that, once baked, they would come back to you for tasting. While the baking was going on, Fontana the farmer, took us out back and talked to us about sheep farming and the challenges they have. Fontana also provided a sheep dog demonstration with Bailey his sheepdog. Once that was completed we returned to the dining room to get our scones and try them out with some rhubarb-ginger jam and cream. We also hit a wool spinning demonstration which was very interesting and informative. Finished off with a visit to the gift shop to pick up some very reasonably priced items. If you want to have a uniques experience this is one you shouldn't miss.

I went with a large group of friends to the bar and later to a drag show at this venue. My only…read morecomplaint about the entire thing was there was some confusion about when the show started. The only time on the website/posters was "doors open at 8:30pm". Once there (around 8:30) we are told that the doors open at 10pm and the show will start at 11pm. Earlier in the night, we sat upstairs at large-table bench seating in a covered, semi-outdoor area with music. I enjoyed their Orchard Thieves apple cider, and from what I saw others got either beer, cider, or shots from the bar. Later we migrated downstairs to their club/stage area for the drag show. The Queens were absolutely fabulous and put on a wonderful show for us. It was a great night!

Compared to most Irish pubs, their beer selection was huge -- not only the standard Irish trio (Smithwicks, Carlsberg, Guinness) but also cider, microbrews and a decent number of bottles. They had a full bar as well. We didn't stay long, but I would love to return, and in fact this place is a big part of the reason we both want to stay longer in Galway on our next Irish voyage!
