This place used to be good, but lately it hasn't been too good. Tonight I ordered a steak burrito. Half way through, there was something super hard in the burrito that nearly broke my tooth when I bit in to it. I don't know if it was bone or cartilage, but it completely grossed me out. Ordered the chicken burrito. Chicken was plain white diced meat. No seasoning which made for the meat to taste bland. Low quality ingredients. Service was okay. I'm sticking to Chipotle after this. This place is really a hit or a miss. Sometimes you go and it can be delicious. Food fresh and flavorful. Next day you can come again and the food tastes like it's been sitting out from the day before. I have been coming here for years but everything is terrible now. Ordered a chicken burrito for about 6 bucks. When it came out it was huge and I was thinking hell ya. " Im bout to smash." Then I bit into it and there was no flavor. It was boiled chicken with out seasoning. No salt. No pepper. No sazon. Nothing. The chicken actually tasted like it may have been microwaved. Ate only about three bites and left it on the table. *UPDATED review 8/24/2013* Pros: Great and good tasting hot sauce, good quesadillas Cons: Where do I even begin? This place never had the best tacos, tortas, or burritos. But I ate there today and man, the service and food here has really gone down the tubes. So much, in fact, that it will likely be the last time I eat there. First off, my order was wrong. Usually, this is not a big deal but this place gets my order wrong about half the time I order from there. The steak on my tacos was dried out (from 2 years ago onward, this has been the norm here). Speaking of the steak, there was a shocking lack of it on all 4 of the steak tacos we ordered. Even their hot sauce (still the best I have ever had and one of the reasons I still try ordering from here) could not make up for the joke amount of dried up steak. I also in this order ordered a steak burrito with sour cream and guacamole on the side. Instead, they put the guacamole inside of the burrito. The lack of a restroom is illegal, but if I remember correctly it was the same way back when this building was a Taco Bell. The worse thing here is a common trend with Mexican-food places. The guy making my tacos did not use gloves while he cooked the food, which is gross and a good way to get sick! If you want better Mexican food, there is many other choices. One of them being the South Heights Burrito Station. The food there is always better and they are better at getting your order correctly. I am quite surprised by the abundance of negative reviews as well! I love this place. Granted, Chicago Heights is certainly not my favorite place to dine, but I have actually went out of my way specifically to eat here. I find their food to be wonderful. I will say that I am a vegetarian - so I cannot speak for the meat, but the veggie tacos and burritos are always great! I find them very flavorful and the prices are a real bargain! The portion sizes are generous. I will say the drive thru can be a little slow at times but that wouldn't stop me from eating here. Love it! read more

I love Mexican food and this place barely hits the mark. The prices are ok. They charge extra for cheese, sour cream, or any of the other tasty toppings one likes to eat on a taco. I was so shocked to see all the negative reviews of this place I had to create an account just to give it a bump. This burrito station is easily my FAVORITE place to go for tacos and burritos. I drive up there from Beecher even though we have a burrito joint in our town. The burrito's are huge, the guac is as good as anywhere else and the salsa is great, as is the hot sauce. Also you can't beat the prices. Its true there is no bathroom and the tables and chairs are crap, but i don't know what anyone expects; its a fast taco shop in chicago heights. The vegetarian taco's are the best--one of my daughter's favorite dinners ever! We also like their rice, beans and guacamole. They can make vegetarian burritos, quesadillas, or whatever you like. The raspberry iced tea is also delicious and best of all, it only costs about $10 to feed two people (the taco's are 1.39 each). The staff is friendly and the food is always fresh. My experience is never bad. I enjoy a quick taco and Burrito Station is a perfect spot. I love their salsa and I'm prone to getting steak everything. This last time I got chicken flautas. I didn't like them. I prefer shredded chicken and they cube/ dice theirs. But it was too fried. The quality just wasn't..good. I will go back, I'm just not a fan of the chicken flautas. I live in the area and i must say Burrito Station is the go to place for fast mexican food, but the quality just isn't there...I rarely go there (maybe 3 times this year) because the quality of their food is disgustingly low, and im the opposite of a picky eater. Sometimes you can get a decent taco or torta but stick to the more common steak on corn tacos. I tried their chicken enchilladas and the sauce was so watery it turned my enchiladas to a nasty tortilla and sauce paste, but the chicken was the worst part; the chicken was old and reheated(more than a few times) which gave it a very dry and almost spoiled taste, YUCK. Lets just say my stomach hates me right now and i wouldn't be writing a neg review if iI it weren't for the enchiladas but i will give it two stars- their tacos and tortas are alright and the drive thru is a plus. Gone here a handful of times. Prices are reasonable for the amount of food you get. The burritos are definitely my favorite. For $5.00 you get a burrito that could feed two people. However, the staff there are quite rude. I got the same younger girl the last two times I went and she had an unnecessary attitude both times. The last time I went she literally walked away while I was in the middle of ordering. I ordered two burritos with chips and salsa. When I asked for the second burrito, she looked at me as if I was wasting her time. She practically shoved my receipt at me. They could definitely work on their customer service skills. The food isn't good enough for the negative experience you get from the customer service. I probably won't be returning to this stop in the future. Very sad because I do enjoy their food. read more
