Cane here for lunch and right before the food got here I felt something on my leg so I slapped it and it was a small roach crawling up my leg

    Milanesa

Got here a little after 2pm on a Sunday for a late lunch. We were the only people there, but it was a strange time to be eating, so that wasn't surprising. There's a nice looking covered patio out front, which I made a mental note of for warmer weather. We opted to sit at a table by one of the front windows. It was cute, like a small picnic table, but people had carved messages all over the tabletop. Anyway, my friend liked the salsa they brought with the chips, and actually liked the restaurant water; noteworthy since she can be picky. I got the chicken milanesa, which was tasted good but was obviously made with white meat. It wasn't dry for white meat chicken, but I usually prefer dark meat it was definitely drier than dark meat. The issue was easily remedied with ketchup, which the waitress brought in a little cup upon request. So, to sum up: the waitress was attentive and professional, parking was easy, the food was fine, and I did end up with a take-home box. But we were the only customers at the time, I did end up getting ketchup for my chicken, and the prices seemed a touch high. I'll need to go again during normal dining hours to get a better verdict.

    Lava flow piña colada

Good food. The food was tasty but they were out of the fried fish. Which btw says fried red snapper and in the description below it says it's a fried redfish? Anyway I got the redfish Cancun which had pico, chz and lots of tender cooked vegetables. My daughter got an American taco which is kinda like taco bell style. Hubby ended up with the chicken in poblano sauce I believe it was. Very tasty as well with lots of melted white chz and poblano peppers over a fillet of grilled chicken. My other daughter got the pollo gratinado which had the chicken fillet covered in onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, chorizo, bacon & melted chz. It was also tasty. The rice I didn't care for. My drink was the best part. A piña colada over strawberry purée.

    Quesabirria

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I been! As a Mexican it does talk a lot about drinks and has the true Mexican sprits but I think it needs something's about Mexican history to go with the vibe. I got the quesabirria and was super good I couldn't finish it and was crispy! The service was very good. They gave my little brothers some coins to play claw machine and gave them a dollar. Yesterday was my dad birthday and the sang the Las Mañanitas for my dad that was turning 55 and gave him a cake with a sombrero and we had fun with family! You should definitely come and they should make more locations!

    Amazing bar!!!!

If you haven't had burritos grille chalmette you're missing out! I've been eating at the read blvd location for years and decided to try this one tonight. Stay tuned for an update with all the good info!!! Omg! So .... I had the red snapper Cancun and let me tell you - it's a masterpiece of seafood under a blanket of cheese on perfectly prepared and seasoned red snapper! Staff are friendly, caring, authentic and efficient, without being pushy or flirty. Really great people! We stayed to watch a saints game and they welcomed us for long after our meal was over! There is just something to be said about hospitality, and they say it loud and clear. Eating at burritos grill is t going out to eat, it's like eating with family. Be extra sure to try the amazing tres leches.

Billy and I are tarring out the newest authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Review to come!

The restaurant is very loud and the seating is very close. Too many tables for the space. They have these annoying flashing lights that have no purpose. The service is a bit slow and our waitress did not speak English very well. I do not think the wait staff has much experience. Orders keep being sent to the wrong tables. Parking is limited. I got my food 15 minutes before Billy got his. The food was ok, but nothing memorable. We will not be coming back.

    Tacos

The food was really good. Atmosphere was very welcoming with bright colors. Hostess/waitress very polite. Would definitely eat here again !

Hubs had the house recommended burrito and said it was good. Our friend had a combo, enjoyed part then and took the rest home. I went with the stuffed poblanos with chicken. Note that when you add meet to these it is put on top, makes sense if the poblanos are prepped early. I'm not sure it needs the breading but things seem to get breaded in NOLA. It was also oddly salty in some spots, almost like someone had poured instead of sprinkled. It was a good option after a day of Mardi Gras fun, especially given wait times at other places closer in (we were told 1.5 to 2 hours for good at Buffa's and Port of Call had closed at 6 so we headed out a little at our friends suggestions.

The cup of soup had tortilla strips that were extremely too large for the tiny soup and they were rubbery and extremely salty. It just felt like I was eating soggy chips and not a proper tortilla soup. I'm glad I didn't order the bowl. The queso was also very salty. By looking at others food it was very generic food and, yes I'm Mexican and therefore bias, but even allowing for the fact that we're not in Mexico and giving some type of grace, nothing appeared Mexican! I'm sad they sell this and market it as a Mexican restaurant as the food was not even remotely close to Mexican flavors. They need to look up basic tortilla soup online and try again. I'm disappointed and will not be coming back. Please check your recipes and at least get closer to Mexican flavors. I understand there are a variety of Mexican flavors but this completely missed the mark. I do not recommend it if you're looking for real Mexican flavors or flavors that are remotely close to Mexican flavors. Look elsewhere.

Liked some about it. The top shelf margarita large is $19.99 and not huge but kind of weak…read more(couldn't taste any tequila and margaritas are MY drink.). And WARM. Hate the plastic glasses, but at least get the drink cold. COLD. An on-the-rocks margarita is not supposed to be lukewarm. This was. I strained into my water glass and added ice, let it cool, and poured it back in the margarita glass. There were three of us and two of our three orders came out wrong (one specifically asked for NO cheese and it was covered in it). Mine was a "Caesar" in menu name only. A Caesar is a RECIPE. Imagine ordering chicken cordon bleu and getting pork, bacon and cheddar. Or a BLT and getting salami, avocado, and bell peppers. That's what it is like when you order a Caesar and it's not a Caesar. It was that far off of what a Caesar is. Call it an El Patron Chef Salad. Call it a House Salad. But a Caesar doesn't have avocado, tortilla strips (???), red onions and tomatoes. What it does have? Dressing. This one did not and was room temperature. Even with the dressing (which obviously isn't homemade but was serviceable) still not a Caesar. Caesars in good restaurants are on a chilled plate but that's minor (this was frankly out-of-the-dishwasher warm) compared to it NOT BEING a Caesar. Wasn't very busy (we were in the big room with all the slices of trees on the wall) had about five tables and 15-17 people total? Service was pretty slow. The server was very nice, but the fact that I'm having to tell the server that a Caesar is supposed to have Caesar dressing (which they do carry. The kitchen just hadn't put it on anywhere on the salad.) speaks to a lack of training. Salsa was average, but not exceptional. Overall, completely middle of the road. I'm Coloradan and I'm used to amazing Mexican food and this was below average. Hence the three stars. If Yelp had a 1-10 scale it would get a 3 or 4.

Friday evening at 6:30pm... expect a 45 minute to an hour wait. The restaurant is bigger than I…read morethought it'd be. Large parking lot, but again, busy place. Large waiting area to stand and wait near the hostess station. Also has a bar area which looks like first come, first serve. We ordered drinks while we waited and hung out in the lobby area. Finally we were sat. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought right away. We Ordered drinks and the chorizo queso, which came fairly quickly. The queso is HOT, bubbling in a volcanic rock molcajete. Sooo good. Strongly suggest this item! I ordered the Tacos Tijuana (lengua). My husband ordered grilled fish tacos and an ala carte cheese quesadilla. The food was great. Lengua was a little dry- I know it's lean but it was not as juicy and gamey as I like. No other complaints except the guacamole that came with my tacos tasted artificial or "off". It also stayed very green throughout the meal which tells me there is either a lot of lemon or it is premade with something to make it not oxidate like fresh avocados. It was just not great guacamole. The frijoles charro on the other hand were excellent! Lots of flavor, pork, cooked nicely and seasoned well. I could eat that by itself. I will for sure be back.
