Burro tacos is the sister (or brother) to the Mule in Hamilton - or at least it most likely is since the logos are identical almost. I am already a HUGE fan (like I am talking massive) of the Mule so while i was in Burlington I thought it best to stop in and give Burro a try. Burro is a tiny place, it's almost hard to find if you aren't sure what you are looking for. It's nestled amongst a few other small restaurants and stores so keep your eyes peeled. This also lends to it being very small inside with not many seats. I've never seen it packed but I think it could get that way on a busy Friday or Saturday night! I would say not the greatest set up for large groups or parties. First off the menu isn't as intriguing as the Mule, a few different tacos but mostly the same idea. I opted to try a few tacos like fish, chicken and their version of the "taco bell" at the Mule (can't you tell I go there often!?). Service was quick and the waiter was friendly, very conversational which is always nice. My tacos came out hot, though they did look slightly smaller than other taco joints I have tried. I hoped the flavour made up for it! The flavours were each really just good - not great - not spectacular. There was really nothing that actually wowed me but they did taste good. My favourite would have to be the "taco bell" version, it just seems somewhat nostalgic to me. Overall the food was well made, maybe not as big of portions as I would have liked to see but it tasted good and the service was definitely friendly and fun! read more

Got some takeout from here on my way out of town maybe a week or so ago. So can't comment on the restaurant itself, but the food was pretty good. A little on the pricey side for the amount you get, and my beef taco was a touch on the bland side, but otherwise pretty good and filled me up. Amazing spot. Decorated very well. Service excellent. Stopped in here a half hour before closing and the waitress was still in high spirits. Slightly expensive considering each taco is sold individually. Their guacamole is one of the best I've ever had. The chef makes a different home made salsa daily. Went here the day after they opened for a late dinner. The restaurant was marked by a makeshift sign with "Burro" spray-painted on the old sign for The Alex Restaurant (Burro Tacos is owned by the same people). Right away I could tell I was going to like the cool, casual vibes of this place. The service fit the mood - it was friendly and relaxed, so much that our server even sat down on the bench beside me to explain the menu. I could tell she was passionate about the food, which made me excited for it. They have a small menu with a selection of appetizers and small plates as well as tacos. Everything is gluten free, according to their menu, and they have a selection of veg options as well. We started with the chips and guacamole. I often have complaints about restaurant guacamole (not enough salt... too much lime juice... who the heck makes guac without cilantro?) but I found theirs was perfect. I also really liked the crispy fried tortilla chips they served with it. As for the tacos, the classic beef taco was everything I want out of a taco! The chicken taco was very good too, with a tasty mix of chicken meat and skin. I also tried one of the veg options: a spicy roasted Brussels sprout taco. Burro Tacos was a phenomenal restaurant. Me and my friends came here for the first time and we started with the Guac & Chips. The guac was very good and fresh!! The chips were homemade and warm. I was beyond impressive with the the hospitality at this restaurant. My girlfriends blood sugars dropped while we were dining, and the staff responded to her needs promptly and generously. I was very impressed with the extra care that the serving staff took to meet our needs. Our server didn't even charge us for the extra pop, juice or tortilla shells we ordered. The food was great, fresh and quick. No long wait times despite the busy lunch rush. I will definitely go back. Th Brussel sprout taco was not very good, at all.. the Brussels were burnt, and tasted horrible. The fish taco, and chicken tacos were both very good -- unique taste profiles, and textures. The corn tortillas were thick, and slightly tough... the service was subpar. They were trying but it seems like they were disorganized -- the male bus boy was fantastic though. The food is okay but is super overpriced for the portions you get. I ended up paying about the same for dinner for two at the Keg after a queso dip, some tacos and a few drinks. I went for lunch at Burro Tacos with my colleagues for lunch on Thursday, April 13th. It was an extremely disappointing experience. We were greeted by a man who immediately sternly lectured us to "be kind to your server." especially at the end of the meal, and described how the server would be dealing with the bills at the end of the meal. It was a very scolding way to begin his interaction with us, and the way that he approached the subject indicated that he was management, but it turns out HE was our server. He called all of us variations of "love", "honey", "sweetie", etc CONSTANTLY, which was inappropriate, occasionally patronizing, and way over-familiar. What's more, he (and I regret that I did not get this man's name while I was there, nor did he supply it to us), placed his hand on my shoulder, squeezed it hard for several (long) seconds. I literally had to shrug him off, and he apologized for being "touchy" and made a joke about how his mother is Dutch. THEN later on he touched me again, even though he had already acknowleged that I was extremely uncomfortable with him touching me the first time. Not only was this unbelievably inappropriate on its own, but I am a survivor of sexual assault, and do not appreciate any unsolicited touching of any kind, let alone from a stranger. Our server consistently inserted himself in our conversations with unsolicited comments, and he made an extremely rude remark to one of my colleagues. She needed to leave at a certain time (our meals took FOREVER to arrive), and she requested her bill. He responded "What are you, the receptionist?" It was unbelievably condescending, rude, and unnecessary. I should add that the food, in my opinion, was mediocre at best, and the service was painfully slow. I went to Burro about two months ago recommended by my sons who had great service from a male server a week prior. On the night I went, with my sons and one other person we stood at the door for ten minutes without even being acknowledged! This surprised me as the place is small and they saw we were there. Once seated the tacos were good but pricey and portions small. We proceeded to ask the waitress for dessert suggestions who recommended the churns . Three of us ordered these. What arrived was 3 little disks of some cooked dough with limp whipped cream and some over cooked apple cinnamon sauce. All three of us took one bite and left this dessert. When the waitress approached our table and asked how we liked the dessert we all replied it was not good ( this was evident in the fact that all three of us left almost all of it).The waitress made no attempt to remove it from our bill and subsequently charged us 7.95 each! Even after suggesting this dessert was not edible. A member from our party actually witnessed kitchen staff trying the dessert in the kitchen! When it cane time to pay our bill I mentioned u was surprised we were charged for the desserts ... no attempt was made to remove them! Will NOT go back!
