    Delicious ceviche

Omg. We are so happy we happen to be in the area and decided to have an early early dinner instead of trying to kill time somewhere nearby. If you can't get here early, definitely make a reservation. The place is a bit small, seats about 7 tables (mix of 2-4 tops). We start of with the ceviche which is so refreshing. I have to admit, it's a bit too citric for me. Definitely share it with someone if you're sensitive to sour. The tacos are all really good here. A good balance of protein with a refreshing herb or veggies. But my favorite is actually their vegetarian tacos. The brussel sprouts tacos are so good. I actually would come here and just order those. Perfectly roasted or fried up tacos with a refreshing mix of fresh herbs and veggies. The sauce is a bit too creamy for me but it does help me stop at 2-3 tacos. The sweet potatoes taco with halloumi cheese is also quite nice! Service is a bit slow at first but once the tacos come, they come flying! Definitely would recommend if you're in the area

Loved the food! The two vegan tacos with broccoli and Brussels sprouts were delicious! The two vegetarian dishes were so flavourful as well! I would definitely recommend for someone vegan or vegetarian. Service and ambiance were good as well.

They have a cute and cozy side patio that we chose to sit in. Their food menu is divided to "Tacos" and "Not Tacos". We ordered "Chorizo, Cotija & Pork Belly Nachos" for appetizer and Margaritas for drink. I enjoyed my drink a lot since I love Tequila. For entrée, we ordered "Fish Taco" and "Beef Cheek Taco". Fish taco was amazing and very delicious; I strongly recommend it. If I go there again, I will order 10 Fish Tacos with Margarita and nothing else! Lol!

This is a cute little Mexican restaurant in downtown Burlington. There are a lot of public lots (paid) that you can park at nearby or you can chance the street as well. We were here for a super late lunch or early dinner depending on how you want to look at a 3pm meal. There were only a few tables here at the time so you shouldn't have a problem getting seated. We opted to sit on the patio which is located in an alleyway next to the restaurant. It is shaded and there's a low fence that separates you from the sidewalk so it's a nice little oasis there. A must order here is actually one of the desserts - the waffle churros are really good. They aren't deep fried like a churro would be but they're a great imitation and possibly a bit healthier too! We were there as a quad and ordered 2 which was the perfect portion size.

Super good. Probably some of the best tacos in the GTA... that's all I have to say. Yeah.

We were able to call ahead and get some seats on the patio. It was a humid day and from where we were sitting there wasn't much airflow so it got slightly uncomfortable. The tacos here are good but none of the dishes we had were mind blowing. All the tacos seemed fresh. A good fish taco is usually our go to. I found that the batter wasn't as light and fluffy as other fish tacos I've had in the past, and because of this the density of the taco was on the heavier side. The slaw and radishes were a good compliment. The classic taco is probably something similar to something you could create at home. And the Achiote taco was okay. Nothing to write home about. The whitefish ceviche was good. There was a lot of citrus notes which I love, but I found the chips to be on the salty side. Based on our experience, I think If I were to return to Burlington I would like to try difference places and then maybe come back for another try once I've explored those.

I am always looking for something different to try and sometime the locals love. Doesn't look like much walking by but i stopped in to give a try. I loved the vibe of the place, it was small but welcoming. They had the whole sugar skull and fiesta theme going on. I enjoy the authenticity vibe that Burro tacos had. The menu is small but done right, it gets straight to the point just tacos. Lol I ordered the Classic Taco, chipotle sweet potato taco and the cochinita pibil taco, each taco is priced individually which was great because I wanted to try different ones. I have to say the chipotle sweet potato taco was my favorite(surprising right?!)for me too- I mean really sweet potatoe in a taco definitely interesting. I am glad I tried it cause it was amazing. I loved there spin in the potatoe taco- it had. Shredded cabbage and chipotle sauce with some onions and the tortilla was perFectly cOoked everything was piled high. My second favorite waS the cochinita tacos it was packed with pork ,salsa pickled onions I believe but it was so delicious. The classic I wasn't feeeling to much tasted like a del taco. I have zero complaints if ur in town pop in. They have a drink menu too. If I am ever in town I would definitely go back. I think everyone should try this place forThemselves. They gained my business for sure. The place was clean and my server was great.

Amazing place for date night! We enjoyed their Taste of Burlington special - app + 4 tacos + dessert for 2. We also got some drinks and an extra side of potato bravas which was delicious! The staff is extra attentive and super friendly which is always nice to see. Def check out this little gem in Burlington - come for the tacos, stay for the vibes

A phenomenal little gem! Without a doubt, Burro Tacos has one of THE BEST tacos I have ever had. Upon a quick look at the menu, you will notice it is very simple with just a few items. They stay true to their name and stick to what they do best: tacos. There are no burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, tamales, etc. Just tacos. There are however shared plates that consists of guacamole & chips, nachos, etc. The fish taco was AMAZING, I wish I had ordered more of it! The sweet potato and bacon taco were great as well, but not better than the fish taco. Service was excellent and friendly. Burro Tacos is definitely a place I would visit again without hesitation.

These tacos were pretty good and filling. My favourite was the fish taco, I wish I had gotten two of that one. The Brussels sprout one was way too salty for me but I'm also not a huge fan of Brussel sprouts so that may have influenced my opinion on that one. I definitely recommend the fish if you decide to go!

Excellent place for tacos and cocktails in Burlington. Small place with not a lot of seating. Today I had the holy frijoles, two achiote chicken tacos and a New York Sour cocktail (mezcal based) and everything was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal here and highly recommend

Great service and good food. Not a lot of seating due to covid so plan ahead. Love the ceviche.

Best tacos I ever had. Super friendly staff. It gets a little pricey if you have more than two. They cost $5 to $6 per taco.

Too expensive. Great service but way to expensive. Quality is just ok. Tacos fall apart . Better off using a fork.

Initially, I thought the restaurant was quite small, but when I went to the washroom, I noticed another dining room. Arriving shortly after they opened for their dinner service, I was standing for quite some time at the "Wait To Be Seated" sign. There was no bell, no way to make contact with the hostess. I did make eye contact with a male server, but I think he was the bartender and that servers are the ones who seat patrons. I want to say that I was waiting for about 10mins. Enough to take a bunch of pics of their front entrance! The first dining room is quite an odd shape with a HUGE round column cum circular bench where plants are displayed in the middle. Menu was pretty succinct, there were specials, but no burritos, enchiladas, or even fajitas. They do serve Mexican cocktails like margaritas and have seasonal flavours such as strawberries, peach, etc. Brooklyn, female server was friendly. Here are the pros/cons of Pepe & Lela's: CONS - hostess table is separated by a long hall from dining room, so it may take some time to get seated as hostess/servers don't regularly check when patrons enter / difficult to see when customers arrive - quite pricey, about a few dollars more than an authentic and local (to me) Mexican place - limited menu, see above description/pics - despite higher prices, tacos don't come with any sides like refried beans, rice, &/or small salad - lotsa wasted garnishes/sauces left on Mexican corn plate PROS - menu does focus on local, seasonal ingredients, so it does taste SUPER FRESH - you can tell their Margaritas were fresh and not from some mix - sauces were really good and plating was good - tasted authentic Food was delicious and FRESH, although I found the meat on my cochinita pibil underseasoned, lacked salt although other seasoning were on-point. My main gripe is that you're paying a few extra dollars for quality - fine, but tacos don't come with any sides like rice, beans, &/or a salad like other, less expensive Mexican restaurants. Average price is ~$25/2 tacos. You're certainly NOT going to be hungry after eating the 2 tacos, but I find that pricey with no sides! Overall, I think it's a good option for a celebration, but a bit pricey for just a regular night out.

Upon entering this restaurant, we were kindly greeted by the server at the front. We were then brought to a table on the upper level near the window which was near the railing therefore, was a tad tight. The music was lively however, not too loud. As well, the décor was set just right for a Mexican restaurant, with many decorations relating to the Day Of The Dead, which is a Mexican holiday. For my meal, I had settled on the pork carnitas without any onion or cilantro, while my daughter had the french fries, and my mother had the beef picadillo. I found that the wraps for the pork carnitas weren't too fresh however, the pork was a good amount, and tasted well-prepared. I would have liked to have some sort of a sauce or topping to go with the pork carnitas however, I only had the side order of diced avocado which was given, along with some Mexican inspired rice. Overall, the food was good however, it wasn't as good as I would have hoped. The prices were a tad high for what we had gotten however, I do respect that this is a family-owned business, and prices are high at every restaurant these days. The service was definitely great, with the server coming to check in on us as we dined, and filling up our water jug from time-to-time. I may come back here to try another item, as the food is definitely authentic, and well-prepared.
