When we arrived at Contigo shortly after they opened on a recent Saturday, the place was pretty much empty. But by the time we left, the joint was hopping. I can see why. We decided to start with the Fries Supreme, which have obviously been modeled after Taco Bell's iconic dish. And yeah, they definitely reminded me of that concoction. The fries could've been fresher and hotter but otherwise I quite enjoyed this messy plate. For the main, I went with a couple of tacos: the Chorizo and the Pulled Pork. The latter I found especially enjoyable, as the sauce the pork had been cooked in was delicious. (It was large chunks of pork, though, so I'm not quite sure it qualifies as pulled pork.) The many hot sauces available, plus the two sauces brought with the tacos, really elevated the whole thing, but I really enjoyed the creamy, cilantro-forward sauce included on the plate. I had come here on a Tuesday at around 12:00 pm for lunch. I didn't realize how busy it would be; almost every table was filled with customers! When I walked-in, there was a line-up of customers waiting to be served at the ordering counter. I took some time to look at the menu while I was waiting in the line. The line went quickly, which was great, and before I knew it, I was at the front of the line. Upon reaching the front of the line, I was greeted by a kind young woman, whom asked what I would like. I settled on two tacos; one with ground beef, and the other with grilled chicken. I was then given a number plaque, and asked to find a table in order to wait for the food. I waited about ten minutes, then was brought the food directly to my table, which I thought was great. When I noticed the two tacos on my dish, I was impressed with how full they were. There was also additional dipping sauce that came with my meal, along with two bottles of sauces that the server gave to me when he dropped off my food items. When I bit into the tacos, I was blown away at how delicious they were! The ground beef and grilled chicken were cooked to perfection, juicy and appetizing. I loved how full the tacos were, as there was plenty to munch on, which filled me up quite quickly. Along with the hip-happening Spanish music playing on the speaker, and the Mexican-themed decor on the walls, this restaurant truly embodied authentic Mexican cuisine. They had some music playing slightly louder than we prefer as it was slightly difficult to speak to each other. The tacos were decent. Contigo is always filled with people. First time I went was during an evening, a couple of hours before closing. Met a lovely young Palestinian girl, Mariam, who works there. She was so sweet, complimenting me on my fragrance. We chatted a bit. Mariam thank you for your recommendations and making my first experience a pleasant one. She recommended the tacos. I ordered three kinds; jerk chicken, shrimp and beef tacos to go. Second time I went, dined in. It was during lunch and packed to the brim. I also ordered the tacos and went with my favourites from the first time. The owner was on site overseeing operations. Nice guy, made sure patrons were served and satisfied. The sign of Contigo Tacobar is colourful and one can spot it far away. The menu is limited, so I assumed the food will be great. The place had quite a few tables to sit at. One orders the food and then one finds a table to sit at. There's an area to put your own spicy level. I ordered a steak bowl and I was definitely disappointed. First, it didn't come in a bowl, but a plate with a paper spread which got wet with the food. I had to pick out the paper. Second, the steak meat looked and tasted more like beef brisket. Yes it was hot in temperature but not much in flavour. They did not have as much toppings as other Burrito restaurants. Third, the rice was mushy and weird. I've never eaten rice like that before. I obviously threw it away. For $13 plus taxes, it was not worth the price. Yes, I went because the reviews were high so perhaps I should have ordered the tacos as everyone said that was good. Almost too good to be true. I think I saw them on social media that they recently opened and couldn't believe my luck that they're barely a few blocks from my workplace. 4 Tacos for $12 seemed almost too good to be true - especially with today's inflation/shrinkflation climate. When I arrived, I saw that there were about 10 meat/protein options, with none costing more, and no rules such as having to only choose one per order made it even harder to believe. Surely when the food arrived, something would be off, or they'd be tiny, right? Nope, my two steak and two chorizo tacos arrived, all fully stuffed and taking up an entire large plate. Both were delicious and great meat quality. It's a fun atmosphere in there, including some Mortal Kombat games and references. They also have a whole table of hot sauces available too. Not that I needed it, but I had to know how good their Tres Leches cake was. It did not disappoint all all. The cake was very fresh and they used good quality cremes for it. I liked the touch of cinnamon too. Obviously I'll be back, and I'll have to try the flautas next time. Great new spot for Tacos in Mississauga! Place is bigger than it seems when you see it outside, with cool old school vibes (with a Street Fighter arcade machine in the back). Went on a Saturday night and it got pretty busy, but service was still very quick. You order at the counter and they bring it over to you. The system could be improved a bit as there seems to be confusion with numbers especially when it gets busier, but everyone gets their food with no issues still. They have a good amount of protein options on the menu and different choices for your eating vessel. Opted for the tacos which are really good value at 4 for 12.99. Ended up trying the Jerk Chicken, Fried Fish, Steak, and Chorizo. The tacos were served with a green sauce on the side that was really good. The tacos were good, had good variety and different toppings on each, but the Chorizo was my favourite overall. Tried a bite of my friend's Quesadilla Supreme as well, but that was a bit too much for my liking. Also ordered churros and Tres Leches cake for dessert and both were really done well.
