Let me start off by saying this is NOT authentic. Not even a little bit, i guess for the folx in Stoney creek they dont know any better , i dunno. So i was indeed bamboozled by the reviews and got there. The customer service is top tier, they are very nice and super personable. Which definitely adds to the whole experience. The food is good but not amazing. They dont use corn tortillas, which would add to the taste in a great way. Not alot of cheese and the spicy is not spicy . We ordered veg taco grandes and mushroom taquitos. Honestly they were more like folded tacos pan fried then taquitos. They tasted great but calling them taquitos is false advertisement. read more

The staff are absolutely top-tier, some the friendliest and kindest of any similar joint in Stoney Creek. Reasonable prices and stellar quality authentic tacos and burritos. Ole Gourmet is a little place tucked in the Southern-East corner of Grays & Queenston. The place is more of a get & go as seating is limited. [EARLY TIP]: Do not come during lunch time if you're looking to go in and out as Newman students flood the place. The prices are so very reasonable with amazing food. I got the rice bowl with steak. The steak was so perfectly seasoned and tasted fresh. They made it when I actually came in and I didn't mind the wait. The service was friendly and attentive. 100% will come back. read more

This place has it's pros and cons. Every time I go to place an order there sold out or close even though it says there open. They never update there hours! One time I drove 25 minutes just to find out that there closed for the next 5 days. Although this is extremely infuriating I always seem to come back there because there food is just to damn good! read more

Ron takes pride in his restaurant. Fresh food that tastes good and is affordable. I go on average 3-5x a month. I usually get the chorizo tacos and ole small nachos (chicken). They ran out of food. We arrived at 6pm Saturday night. We entered and the owner was filling an order with a customer. They where taking casually . We waited 5-10 minutes. And when we got to the counter were told they were out of food. If that happens ,yes strange as it seems for restaurant to run out of food, , but at least someone could have told us when we walked in rather then make us wait. Owner has a real passion for the customer service, I like that, shows threw in his food. Remembers your name, somehow whaT you like on it, which is scary but maybe I just haVe a rememberable face. I recommend the mix of chicken and beef. Watch out tho the hot sauce is hot, heat builds up half way threw. read more

Basic burrito and taco place. 4 star for that type of food. Great price for the food qty. always busy aka long waits. I've been here 3 times waited 30min each time for takeout. Great place to satisfy your Mexican fix. I usually get the Chicken Burrito and it's always been consistent with quality/taste. The employees are also very friendly and provide great customer service. The best Mexican in Ontario. Love everything on the menu so far .. can't go wrong. Try the chicken nachos. Real chicken breast. Very good.

I don't know if what I experienced was typical or rare, but here goes... I went in April, this was my first time coming back since this place renovated and changed their layout - I don't know if the owners changed or not. Anyways, first I needed to use the washroom - it was absolutely atrocious, and with zero soap in the dispensers to boot, so I REALLY had to scrub my hands under the water for quite some time in the hopes that I'd wash the filth of the washroom off of them - I was not surprised whatsoever when they were closed down a bit more than a month later in mid-May 2018 by Public Health for causing a salmonella outbreak (so, uh, interesting timing on that review by Jon M on the exact date when it was in the local news that the place had been shut down); so, check the washroom first. If filthy, get out of there, because employees use the washroom too... Second, they take orders via a mobile app, and I guess they give precedence over that versus walk-ins, because I waited a good 25-30 minutes for a simple tacos & nachos order, while various people came in and out, picking up their orders that had been ordered online. Near the end of my wait one of the staff said to a new walk-in "it'll be awhile, we're busy getting a really big catering order ready". Okay, so, I guess this is the order of importance: mobile-app order - catering order - walk-ins. I don't plan to go back again, which is a shame because in their previous incarnation the food was great. read more

I flew all the way from Mexico City. I was in town to meet with some of my family. They recommended this place for a dinner and holy macaroni, we went here for 3 days straight. I got tacos on many occasions and really liked them. Good prices too. I recommend this restaurant very much. The tacos had a lot of beans and rice and sauce, so I found them to be very worth the money. They were also priced by taco, so you could get as many as you'd like. read more

This is out front of ole gourmet at 11:30. Ole Gourmet is an amazing place for Mexican food but very inconsistent with opening up and answering phone calls. The food like I said is awesome but when your sign says open at 11 on a Saturday and two customers wait for half hour it's bad customer service. In this area there isn't many options for healthy food but when a business can't stay consistent and open on the hours it says it's almost untrustworthy to continue to go there. Ron is a great guy and very welcoming but it's tough to stay loyal to a spot that is this inconsistent. Also I understand renos and vacation time was a main reason 3-4 weeks of closure but now everything is set and ready the business should always open on time. Unacceptable. read more

Have had their burritos, taco supreme and nachos. Try a mixed chicken/steak burrito. Burritos are stuffed then grilled to perfection and make a great meal. So good! Nachos are made from scratch. Great food! read more
