    Super fun and beautiful!

Very sweet store with extremely kind staff. Tge products are beautiful... My favorite candle is the Farmer's Garden and I may go back for a book on crystals. The baby section makes me want grandkids NOW! The textures and colors are very pleasing. Some of the gadgets took me right back to my childhood. Great location. Right across the street from Margo's and William Sonoma's. Brunch and Brouse. Ideal for gift shopping. I've been inspired for Tge past two days to redo my bookcase and the spice cabinet. Yay! I'm coming back for the matte wisk.

Firstly, I'm from the southeast, Virginia to be exact. I don't do $145 tee-shirts or $221 drawstring cotton pants. Secondly, it's glaringly apparent some folks do. Here in the Abbot Kinney neighborhood, it's all about the bougie. This little store is chocked full of stationary, blank journals, sage, and various insense, candles and hand crafted jewerly, none of which is particularly unique and all can be purchased for half the price or less elsewhere, but I suppose it's more meaningful if purchased here? I was always taught that the rich live like the poor and the poor live like the rich. I was amused.

Just a few of the treasures.

This is one the best shops on Abbot Kinney for browsing. As soon as I have my own place, I plan on buying a beautiful coffee table simply so I can stack it with all the amazing books they have here. I can spend an afternoon just skimming through their books, including their cookbook selection. They have some great, unique, letter pressed cards for several types of occassions. They have so many fun little trinkets and home goods that tend to be handmade and beautiful. They also sell some clothing here but it is very expensive. Same with their jewleery. Still, if you wan a locally made good, you can find a lot of it here!

Perfect place to buy gifts for the little ones. From newborns to maybe 5/6 year olds.

Very cute stuff! But you can easily search the items online and find them for much cheaper. Abbott Kinney style but Abbott Kinney prices.

In other words, a lot of cool stuff that's hard to categorize as being together under one roof, but all well-worth browsing. It's a different shop than most in the area because it's smaller and often the owner/manager is basically just sitting at his desk working or tinkering. I know some ceramics and jewelry caught the eye of my wife and I was especially interested in a sort of space-age looking stereo receiver in the front window. It was incredibly expensive at many thousands of dollars. Hey, a boy can dream. They also have featured artists on a monthly basis with unique works you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Come in just to find something totally unique.

The Best Gift Shop on Abbot Kinney…read more Chariots on Fire is a small store that carries hard to find jewelry, pottery, and unique fragrances, and contemporary ceramics. They have a unique selection of goods that you cannot find anywhere. I do a lot of poetry and visual art, and coming in here almost felt like walking into a modern museum. Every piece of jewelry, home décor or unconventional flower pots seems to have a message that reaches out to you once you catch a second glance. It's not as if you are buying home goods and decorations, but every piece in this store has a story to tell. There is that old saying " You should seek to understand, and then be understood", but at this store its almost a liaison between you and your sense of style. When you buy a piece at Chariots on Fire and place it in your house, people will see it and try understand its meaning; but ultimately they will understand you. Very few stores have had the ability to do this with the merchandise they carry. Chariots on Fire is truly one of the best hidden gems on Abbot Kinney in Venice!

I was so disappointed but because I had the full set I repurchased however they no longer carried the original color Sand so I had to get Bone. Then in 2025 the same thing happened to the quilt, the linen just disintegrated. Again because I had the whole set I felt forced to repurchase the quilt or have to replace my entire bedding. So I did. Now the quilt Bone color doesn't match the shame bone color, it's much darker. There are way better companies out there that make lasting bedding products with matching colors. I definitely would not recommend this company and will not buy another item even if that means replacing my entire bedding. Also check the complaints on Better Business Bureau, they sound so similar to mine.

I paid $600 for Parachute's linen sheet set in 2024, expecting premium quality. I'm a hot sleeper,…read moreso breathability and softness were my priorities, and at first, it seemed like the sheets delivered. I followed every single washing instruction to the letter, never mixed them with other laundry, and took perfect care of them. Then the problems started. Not just after years of use, but within the first year. The sheets constantly shed little balls of linen that ended up all over the floor under my bed. At first, I thought this was "normal" wear after a couple washes, but no, it never stopped. And now, barely a year later, I woke up to find the fitted sheet completely ripped, literally falling apart in my hands. When I reached out to Parachute support, their response was essentially: too bad. I was told I was 15 days past the warranty, so they wouldn't do anything. Let me get this straight: $600 sheets disintegrate in a year, and the company hides behind a technicality instead of standing behind their so-called "premium" product? That's laughable. Parachute markets themselves as luxury, but what you actually get is overpriced, low-quality bedding that doesn't even last a year. The fact that customer service shrugged it off says everything about the brand, they care about your money, not your experience. Save yourself the money and frustration. I'll never buy from Parachute again, and I'd warn anyone considering it: these sheets are a total scam. I have so many more photos of this whole sheet just falling apart, if you want them DM me.

I had one find that blew me away: an Ancient Roman bronze belt buckle that had been turned into a pendant. Circa 100 CE. The employees were delightful to talk to and were very helpful on getting prices and showing me things in display cases. I got into a long conversation with an art historian over the aforementioned belt buckle. Prices range. I bought a pair of beautiful pillows for under 35 dollars.
