Approximately five years ago, my dentist retired and sold her practice to Drs. Bryce Miller and Matt Chen. The practice was subsequently rebranded as Burtonsville Dental Suite or BDS. As with many changes, this one brought both anxiety and apprehension. I was uncertain if I would like the new dentists or how they approached dentistry. I was further stressed by what I would be forced to do if it turned out this change was not one that I could withstand. My stress levels were soon found to be unjustified. While I have had several visits with Dr. Chen, most of my time the past five years has been spent under the care of Dr. Miller. Therefore, this review will focus primarily on him. However, it should be noted that my comments pertain equally to everyone in this practice. After several routine visits for cleanings, it became necessary for me to have a crown which involves needles to numb the area. I have had a lifelong dislike of needles of any kind and for any reason. When I arrived for my procedure a bit early, I crossed paths with Dr. Miller and when he asked how I was, I told him I was stressed about the need for him to numb my mouth using needles. When he heard that, he stopped mid stride and told me that he did not want me to stress while waiting. He led me to the chair and told me he was exceptional with needles and had even numbed himself. I was skeptical. He gave me the first needle as quickly as possible and I very quickly learned that he was not exaggerating. I have never had an experience that was so pain free. This experience, as well as those that have followed have eliminated my fear of needles and injections. Over the years, I have come to trust, respect and admire Dr. Miller's dedication to his craft, as well as his compassion towards his patients. He takes the time to explain what he is doing and why. He listens to my concerns and he answers my questions. He speaks to me versus at me. During a procedure, he will not only tell me where he is in the process but will stop and ask me if I am okay or if I need a break. Dr. Miller is young. Very young! He is younger than my children. He is also up to date on the latest techniques and technology. The practice puts patient care ahead of profit. The office is state of the art. The visits are never rushed. The entire staff is professional, respectful and courteous. Whenever I have had any procedure performed, other than routine cleanings, Dr. Miller or a member of his team has called me to check on my recovery and ask if I need anything. When my wife had some extensive work done recently and had a problem, I called the office after hours and left a message detailing the issue. Within minutes, Dr. Miller called to obtain more details and ask if she needed to be seen immediately or could she wait until the next morning. Dr. Miller is incredibly passionate about his work and compassionate about his patients. He has taken dentistry and raised it to an art form. This change has had a very happy outcome. I had a toothache flare up on a Thursday night and my cheek was badly swollen by the next morning. I hadn't been to a dentist in years, so I searched for local dentists on the web. Burtonsville Dental Suite's website looked friendly, reassuring, and professional. Despite their reduced hours on Fridays, they were able to fit me in. Sam at the front desk welcomed us and worked with my wife to handle the paperwork and such before and after the procedure. Demary (sp?) prepped me and then assisted Dr. Golden during the procedure. Dr. Golden X-rayed my teeth and then extracted the infected dead tooth. The process was painless and I felt 100% better even after the anesthesia wore off later in the day. Everyone was very nice and Dr. Golden even texted that evening to check on me. Not having seen a dentist in so long, I'll need more work on my teeth and I will be returning to this practice. read more

I came to the office for the first time with a dental emergency. They got me in almost immediately. I'm very nervous at the dentist, but this group of people eased my fears, and made me feel like a different person. Samantha and Adrianna at the front desk were so professional and upbeat. Jennifer assisted the dentist (Dr. Golden) and was a very calming person! Dr. Golden was professional and good-humored. They both explained everything they were doing, step by step. First, Dr. Dosh has sold this practice so that the only review that maybe relevant is the one in 2033. The relevance of this one is questionable since the location of reviewer is San Francisco. Second, my review. I had found them satisfactory. but in my most recent experience, one doctor diagnosed me with cracks in two teeth and recommended crowns on both teeth. I scheduled an appointment for a month later intending to get a second opinion. The next day, they called to say they had an appointment. I foolishly agreed to it. When I discussed with the doctor wanting to get a second opinion, he did everything he could do to convince me to have the crowns. I gave in. This doctor did whatsoever was best for the practice and not for me. read more

Very pleased with this dental office. From the friendly front desk staff, to the dental assistants, hygienists and the Doctors! Both my husband and myself go there. My husband is disabled and all the staff are helpful and understanding. We have been seen by all three of the dentists and they all are great to work with. Explain things well. She cares for your dental health, she explains details about the procedures she performs. She doesn't try to talk to you TOO much when she's working in your mouth. Politeness OVERBOARD.. we were going every 6 months for check ups. She kept telling my husband, watch out for this area... never saying much more than this. They got a new younger dentist and right away she told my husband he had a cavity. He had never gotten a cavity before and we were both shocked that at that visit they had to schedule a filling. It's terrible that a dentist does not feel comfortable using the word cavity. Maybe she wanted to make extra money, maybe she didn't want to hurt his feelings? I'm honestly baffled. The new younger dentist even said that if he would have treated it 6 months before he could have reversed it. It was so upsetting because we tried to take care of our health and use as much preventative care as possible. LATER... we tried to transfer our documents and the front office person after finding out my name and information said that she would not be able to transfer our documents because my husband had an outstanding bill of $30 even though he paid for the filling on the day of the treatment. Apparently their office staff is unaware of HIPPA policy but that is not only illegal but unethical regardless of how much we owe, we paid for all of our Xrays and all of our visits up to that point and our medical records our ours not the office. It's 2018 and I'm having to educate medical staff on HIPPA policy? SO CONFUSING!! I filed a complaint with the US Department of Health and Human Services and am waiting for a resolution. read more

By far the best dentist I've been to. Everyone in the office is so nice and upbeat! Because who really likes going to the dentist? She makes it a lot easier. I had scheduled for a cavity to be filled but just a few days before my job told me I had an event to go to later that day so I didn't want to have a numb, swollen mouth. Luckily they were able to switch me to just a cleaning which I know is a hassle. Not only that but they gave me all the prices for everything up front which (with insurance) was a LOT cheaper than my last dentist. read more

Our family has been seeing Dr Dosh for years and she is great. Her staff is very friendly and she is very thorough. We have had issues during those years and she does the work or she refers us to wonderful people. I have rarely had to wait and my only complaint is that she is too popular and it takes a while to get an appt. I had a dental emergency (cracked tooth) and was looking to see Dr. Dosh as a new patient because I do not like my current dentist. Found rave reviews here about her. Called and spoke to a receptionist, who said that although Dr. Dosh is accepting new patients, she thought I should stick with my current dentist since they "know my case". I asked to speak with the Dr. and explain my situation, but was denied by the receptionist who was very friendly and nice, yet extremely unhelpful and didn't seem to explain what I was saying to her. Was looking forward to working with this doctor, but I can't force her to take my money/see me! Wanted to post this for patients looking for a new dentist- I'm sure Dr. Dosh is a great dentist based on the reviews here, but it seems like she is VERY overbooked, so you might want to try elsewhere if looking to switch. read more

Dr.Dosh.ROCKS!!!!! She's BY FAR the BEST dentist I have EVER had! In contrast to my previous dentists, she's an expert at her craft and has the people skills to go with it. She truly knows how to diagnose teeth issues and exactly what to do to treat them - and when to get another dental specialist involved; she's concerned about your care first, not her ego. Because of her, my teeth are cleaner than they've ever been, a couple crowns in my mouth as a result of childhood trauma have been repaired, and underlying problems that other dentists failed to diagnose have been, and I'm getting the treatment I need from an orthodontist. The only caveat is that because she's so great, it's hard to get an appointment with her, but it comes with the territory when you're as good as she is. However, she is empathetic despite her busyness, and, especially when you're a loyal customer, she finds a way to fit you in her schedule when you really need her. Not leaving her office unless she closes - and probably would still come back even if I move far away - a friend who moved down south whom I introduced to her said she's doing the same!
