Not impressed. We went with a group of 8 and although it was busy, it wasn't under-staffed. The service was very slow and our server inattentive. She barely came around. We had the dill pickle fries and beer bread. Both were OK. I had a beer flight and my gf had a cooler flight. We would have tried more however in the over 2 hours we were there, she didn't come by again. At the end, we were given our bills with an automatic 20% gratuity which we all felt was very undeserved. I just love it here! Come here after work, but I would go out of my way to come here anyway. Love the cocktails, ambiance, service or bartender London! He makes my mojitos just a bit sweeter! Just met a new gal here Nina, she's nice and knowledgeable! They have fancy glasses, and a cool place to sit upstairs but the furniture is extra cool ask them where it's from, it's super cool!!! Only thing missing is food, but a little birdie told me next week it's open with a menu!!! I love they do tours of the distillery in the back and you can get a Groupon to try it out! But regular price is $15 with a tasting! Come check it out and tell them I sent you! Food is here and so far so good fried cauliflower the best!! All food and dressings are handmade fresh and chef is kind and awesome! read more

It was the Calgary Fall Home Show's fault. Being a YYC realtor, I gave a whack of tickets away to clients ... and felt that I should attend the show ... to both keep on top of home trends, perhaps find a new vendor, and relate to the experience my clients might be getting at the show. Prior to attending, I thought I would check out the Shows website ... and have a look to see who was going to be there. I was most excited to learn that a craft distillery was going to be there, and seemed to be sponsoring a lounge space. As I walked to the tasting table, I was greeted by a big smiling bearded fellow who introduced himself as Marco. Offering up a taste of Vodka, and then their Honey Liqueur. Super Fun and great tasting - He told me stories of his family in Bosnia and how they made spirits, about his Dad's bee farm in Cochrane where they sourced the honey. I knew I had to visit their Distillery on location to taste their other two products ... and some of the food that Marco raved about. I visited their website and booked a distillery tour timed with lunch at the restaurant. Today I was greeted by Ivan, Marco's brother and one of the three business partners. We had a great tour of the small (380 litres) distillery, lounge inspired by Fogo, and restaurant. WOW!! Amazing menu and very reasonably priced. In addition to what I tasted at the Home Show, I got to taste their Gin, Honey Eau de Vie and a 3rd walnut drink. Ohhh ... I left with 3 bottles of Eau de Vie and one each of Gin, Vodka and Honey Liqueur - all packaged up very nicely. My intention is too gift some of these bottles. (Maybe ... ) The food! We started with Mushroom Toast which was amazing. Ivan suggested I try some street food from the home land (Ivan & family moved to Calgary in 1995 from Bosnia) ... "Cevapi". Along with a delicious soup the Cevapi was the best bread ever .. with some sausage, cream cheese, onion and sauce ... I got to eat all with my hands ... ripping and tearing the sausage and bread. YUM! Okay ...Each of their distilled products are amazing ... Honey Eau de Vie being my most favourite. Restaurant was Amazing. Space was Super Cool. ... and now I have new/old friends! This place is worth a visit ... for a meal, for a drink ... to learn more about craft distillery ... or to get some shopping done for your pals who appreciate local and deliciousness. It's a wee bit out of the way. Put it on your list. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Burwood is one of my favourite spots for a cocktail. The space is fantastic for a casual drink or for an evening with friends. You can sit at the bar or head upstairs to a more cozy, living room vibe with couches and chairs. The service is always fantastic, the owners obviously love what they're doing and have every reason to be proud of their work. The bartender is great, super friendly and knowledgable and good conversation. The honey eau de vie is my favourite, but everything is good, even the gin (and I'm not a gin fan). The seasonal spirits were super tasty as well. The mixed drinks are an excellent presentation for the products. I'm excited to stop by when the kitchen officially opens. I recommend Burwood to everyone, you won't be disappointed. read more

Burwood is definitely a secret gem! They've always got amazing new cocktails, delicious food, and incredible service! It feels like a family owned place where all they want to do is take care of you. I've been there a few times already and have never been disappointed with anything! read more

Very good gin. The breakfast is our favourite part of the restaurant. The mushroom toast off their appetizer menu is also quite good.

Met with the promoter when they were at wine and beyond in the NW. He talked up the venue and restaurant so I booked my 35th birthday there a week in advance, and was very excited. I kept telling everyone about my plans for the weekend. Then I got a call at 11am on the day of to be told they had a private event coming in at 7pm and couldn't accommodate my reservation and asked if I could come in earlier or on a different day and they would comp on round of drinks. I had 6 people who had to arrange childcare on the saturday. I could not just rearrange my plans. Beyond disappointing and I will never be visiting their venue. I'll book at confluence next time which has amazing gin or UNTITLED Champagne lounge which honestly saved my 35th birthday. read more

Wow, their new food menu is fantastic!!! Very unique offerings and ingredients are all local. Love that, and it goes well with their micro, craft distillery flair as well. You have to try the Cevape - it is out of this world. I went back today and had their pulled chicken salad sandwich, another winner. read more
