We came from Gracie Barra Headquarters, I was there for 4 years before I decided to switch to AOJ. It was the BEST decision I've made in regards to BJJ training. I love everything about AOJ, the classes, the professors, the facility the bathroom! They are often cleaning the mats, windows, bathrooms. The Professors are all highly skilled and the techniques they teach are so much more complex but they break it down so it's easier to understand. I love how the kids group is separated into smaller clusters giving kids more personalized training. AOJ encourages kids to train multiple classes a day/week if they are able to, our previous school limited kids to 2 classes a week. Not bashing GB but they are more of a intro to JJ school, AOJ is more focused on detailed/higher level instruction.

I'll admit that after reading some of the negative reviews here, prior to enrolling our child, I…read morewas very hesitant. However, we took a chance anyway and we are really happy we did. Our child has been attending for months now and has done both classes and summer camp and he's been really happy. Regardless of class size, every child is given 1:1 attention and corrected on their steps and technique. In each class, they start off with warm up and drills but are also given opportunities to go up against different opponents. We personally haven't found an issue with billing and don't think LFC comes off as money hungry at all. If anything, they've been extremely accommodating with a great makeup class policy and you really feel they're passionate about fencing and making sure the kids are learning. The coaches have all been super respectful, even when kids are goofing off and not focusing. It is important to the entire class that kids are ready to learn and not distracting to others and I think LFC really is able to promote that kind of environment in an encouraging, respectful way.
