I had a problem with an accountant before her, and I hired her to help me fix the issue, which as far as the returns go she did. I also asked her to help me deal with FTB about the debt, and she basically did some procedure with them that took 6 months, before which I HIGHLIGHTED REPEATEDLY that I did not want to pay more interest, she responded that that account would be on hold and there would be no interest. Well at the end of 6 months, I ended up having to take the matter into my own hands, pay nearly 2000.00 dollars in interest. When ever I have any questins about anything I have to wait 2 weeks to a month, and our appointments never seem to resolve anything I repeatedly ended up calling FTB myself to resolve it. I am now about to pay more money for something she did and didnt take responsibility for. if you want straight forward work done, she will do a good job, but don't hire her to clean up any messes, it will end bad. I am grateful for her help, but it was AGONIZINGLY SLOW, and disappointing to have to do everything extra myself. I dont know that first thing about talking with FTB, or maneuvering their systems, and I was forced to resolve 'clean up' part of the issue my self, paying over 5000+$ for a bill that was originally 1800.00 or 2000. She made excuses that seemed legit but was really hiding behind the confusion left by the man who messed it all up in the first place (before I hired her) the extra money was over 60% interest for her mis information, and misleading me by telling me that the account would be on hold, and despite me asking and insisting if that meant NO INTEREST, AND HER SAYING YES THATS WHAT IT MEANT, I payed the interest.

A friend recommended them for taxes because they charge a more reasonable amount to do your taxes…read morethan I was paying somewhere else. You upload your documents to a "secure site" (which is a joke I think? My browser gave me a warning about it not being secure and someone could be trying to steal my information - LOLZ!). Then you dont hear back from them for over a month. April 15th passes, no word. Luckily the tax deadline was extended this year (2021). When you call, you are told "its being reviewed and they will reach out to you, probably today." No one does. The next week you call again and they say the same thing. Then someone does reach out to you, huzzah! But it's not the person who did your taxes to go over them with you. That would be helpful. Instead you hear from the receptionist telling you your taxes are done and what you owe them and the government. Okay. Great. You look at your taxes and shit you owe A LOT. You're not used to owing SO MUCH. If you happen to have a question about something, they treat you like you're an annoying idiot and say "I've only been doing taxes for 34 years, I think I know the law..." Mmkkk. Yes, thats the reason you, and not me, are doing my taxes. And I'm ignorant, so I have questions. Jesus, I'm not attacking your intelligence. On the contrary, I'm seeking information to understand. If there is a mistake with the paperwork (payment math isnt adding up to the total balance, the first payment shows its already past due), when you ask about it, they tell you Tracy is busy and won't be able to look at whether the information is correct, for a month. A month, seriously. Your tax paperwork has errors and they can't even look at it to check their own work within a reasonable time frame. You need this information to be accurate because you need to take action on the information (the first payment is due in a couple weeks). Or is it already past due? Its too bad you're unimportant enough to get prompt service. I dont understand why someone else other than Tracy can look it over. She didnt even do them in the first place. Someone else there did. Not great service.

Tammy got my taxes filed but that's the only good thing I can say about her performance. Her…read morecommunication was incredibly inadequate; I'm a small business owner and she didn't ask standard questions in our initial meeting for which she needed accurate answers in order to file correctly. She almost cost me $500 in fees because she told me I needed to file a 1099 that I didn't actually need to file. The only reason I avoided that happening was because I spent my own time researching tax law so I could teach her what she should have already known. She did the same to my business partner as well and he's still dealing with the problems she caused through her own inadequate communication. I wish I had stayed with my previous CPA and paid more for someone to do a decent job instead of the disaster of dealing with Bean Counter Tammy.
