I used to live in Galveston & have done this before, but apparently at another location, where the whole experience was friendly & made me want to do it more often. Todays experience would have changed the number of times I have talked friends & family into doing it & the amount of money I have spent. This place was completely empty other than one other family in the process of taking photos. Arrived w/ a Groupon for a session & an 8x10 for $9. My husband & I had each purchased one & wanted to do 2 sessions. One more focused on him & one for me. Photographer seemed to take offense immediately, explaining to me that they give these to Groupon for free out of the kindness of their hearts & they could not let us each use our Groupon because we came in, together. Haha! That's not how Groupon works. As a business owner, I have first hand knowledge that the company gets a percentage of what is purchased. No matter, we got a refund for his through Groupon. Then we weren't allowed to look at the "sets", but we're made to choose a theme from others photos. Abby literally told helper to escort us back to the chairs to wait, though we never left the waiting area, just walked around in it to see what we could see. I would have preferred to choose my background & props from seeing them. After waiting more than 45 minutes, as they only have one photographer & 2 helpers to dress you, the photos were pretty good. The photographer kept telling us, as though we hadn't heard her tell the previous customers as we looked on & waited, that each one we liked were her favorites & she plans to enter our images into a contest that she participates in. read more

The service was Terrible we were there for SIX HOURS!!!!!! We did a western themed shoot that took an hour and a half and they ended up deleting the shoot and made us redo the entire shoot!!!! Took our girls during vacation! It's pricey but I knew that going into it. we had done this when the girls were little and thought it would be cool to do another now that they are teenagers! They weren't busy at all as we were the only ones in there. So with that being said, this isn't a "have to do", this isn't my daughters senior pictures or wedding photos. This should be about the experience. Our photographer was extremely short, not necessarily rude.... But course at first! Took the pictures while not cracking a smile once... then we were picking out pictures. Then shortness became absolutely rude with "you are just going to need to tell me what you want". We had been at the computer screen for a whole 10 minutes at this point (didn't interrupt all her sales pitches in there) so there was absolutely no need to be rude. We spent our $150 (which would have been more with the right experience) and moved on with an experience of we won't do that again! Carly did an amazing job; she was so welcoming and friendly. She made the experience worth it. The pictures came out great and it was so fun - I would recommend. It was really pricy though, I felt like they tried making us pay for every little thing (color on the picture, a paper frame, printing it out all cost money) which is understandable but it stacked up. I don't like how each picture cost 20 dollars to print and we couldn't take pictures of them ourselves of the printed photos- if that makes sense. read more

Can't recommend Busters enough! We came in at a busy time and they fit us in and made the experience super enjoyable. One of our family members got sick from the ferry and during the shoot the employees were BEYOND accommodating and kind. They also worked very well with our toddlers. We had Abby as our photographer and the session started pretty well. She asked the family dynamic to get a sitting arrangement in her head which was a great service. But that's where the service ended and a twisted game of passive aggressive comments and hidden charges began. My son's shoes were a source of obvious frustration to her. Not because they just weren't her style but mainly because she didn't agree with the price he paid for them. Ultimately saying they looked like sh*t. Once she told him that no pictures of him with tshirt sleeves would leave her studio, I realized we were dealing with an "artist". As the patriarch I was asked about my eleven year old wearing fishnet stockings for the photos ($5 extra) and I said no. Was not asked about my other 2 adult daughters ($5 extra each). Then once the session was over we gathered up front to review the images. The sitting fee of $15 each was reduced to $10 each and the first 8x10 is included. $20 for each extra 8x10 or $20 for (2) 5x7s. Prices not horrible except what was explained during the pose review process. We were told that the pictures cannot be photocopied or photographed or the originals would be ruined. She has an example on the wall with a huge watermark across that she claims will appear if the photo is photographed with a cell phone or scanned. This is an outright lie and designed to force you to purchase more than one copy of a photo for fear of ruining the original. I have tested the photos and making copies and taking pictures of them is indeed possible. I understand certain business practices designed to maximize profit but lying to a customer to get them to purchase more is theft. She even stated the "special" photograph paper cost her 10k. Then there was the picture already in a cheap frame and being told to smell it because it's from an Ecuadorian forest or something, idk it smelled like dirt and Walmart. Let this be a warning. Oh and one more thing, if you use my underage daughters picture in your competition (something I never signed a release for, unless it was in the receipt she made me sign to "prove to her boss she was working"), you will be hearing from my lawyer. Artist or not, I'm gonna go with not. read more

Chris was a very nice salesperson and hooked up a nice looking photo (editing wise) even while I took my time picking a photo. However the wait time was a bit too long although we did go on Mardi Gras. Also, the minimal sizes / outfit choices in my size was a bummer. You can't see what your options are until you agree to sign in. I also felt our photographer didn't really care about getting a photo we wanted and was just trying to get a few poses and in and on to the next person. I came in knowing what poses I wanted because I really wanted to hang these photos in my house. I only got to do one of the ones I wanted. Overall, they turned out alright but I wish they would email you the photo you pay for in the age of Facetune and Instagram..... They said that would be $300 + dollars. She also was extremely degrading to the staff member that was helping us, and embarrassed her in front of our group. She told a few people in our group that she knows she rubbed the us way and that she disliked 3 of our girls in our group. The other staff were very nice and helpful. Terrible experience. Came here once last year and had a great experience, but the staff seems to have changed for the worse. They rushed us with outfits, not giving us more than 1-2 options for dresses. They then scolded us for taking too long to get changed, since another party had gotten tired of waiting for the changing room. They seemed inpatient for the entire duration of the shoot and did not allow us to re-take pics. They did not give proper instruction on how to hold the fans in an elegant way and then made fun of us for having our fingers spread out while holding the fan. I had a voucher for a free print-out, and when I changed my mind (as exchanges are allowed), the employee refused to exchange it for me, stating that the paper cost money. I offered to pay for the cost of the paper, but she insisted it COST MORE THAN THE LISTING PRICE OF $25. When I challenged her that a sheet of paper couldn't be more than $25, she called her manager over, who backed her up. Extremely rude, condescending staff. read more

She took the time to take extra pictures due to their camera not focusing properly, but she did not hesitate to put in the extra time for the photos and the touch ups. I really wanted to like this place. We were super excited until we arrived. After signing and waiting for at least 20 mins with 8 people in our group we were told they couldn't take us today. They claimed there were only 2 photographers. What's odd is there was on 1 name in front of us they signed in over an hour and half ahead of us. Apparently it would take 2 hours and with ONLY 2 photographers to take the photos there was not enough time so they could not take us today. UM TOTAL BS obviously they wanted to close VERY early. I'm so disappointed. They asked us to come back tomorrow as if we really live in Galveston. Whatever... I had already purchased groupon. NEVER AGAIN will we return.. it was a present for my family so in summary it was a total waste of money & time! read more

We had a Groupon and that pic was free, but of course they pull you in with the extra shots. Photographer was very friendly. That's her job. But she did tell us if you try and scan your photos at home there would be watermarks. Scanned and printed on regular paper, no watermarks. Don't know if it would be different on photo paper. The experience of taking the pictures was quite nice and we had a lot of fun. They took a lot of time getting the costumes together and also setting up the shots. Very friendly staff and nice sets. On the other hand: we had very specific poses in mind and even though we got those (and those were the ones we bought), we had to go through a lot of shots that we knew we didn't want. I guess it was to make sure there would be at least a few nice ones in case our ideas didn't work out. It was fun posing, but unnecessary. The shots came out great, but then the upsale started and that really put us off. Everything cost extra and by the time you were done you would have spent a lot more money than expected. It was quite annoying: colored picture? Extra! Even though it was one mouse click to run a predefined filter over the picture. Want a frame? Want a screen? That really put us off and made the whole experience less enjoyable. We would have wanted a digital version but you can only get the *whole* shoot and that would have been $300. So: the pictures were great, taking them was fun, but the upsale was really bad. I wish they had been more transparent about the costs from the get-go. read more

The location is great really puts you in the mood for a "Old Time Photo" with the brick roads and walkways. Inside was great we didn't wait long to get started. There were two ladies in there tonight and one seemed to really know her stuff and the other was a little aloof. We ended up with a great picture for the $9.00 Groupon order. I was expecting to have them try and up sale us but they just kinda spit out the prices and kept on going. Fabulous. With the CD costing over $100 we weren't biting and she knew it.
